    Canada - Vancouver, B.C. - Vicki Rosalind Black, 23, Mar. 23, 1993-solved

I hope this arrest isn't the result of a Mr. Big sting the RCMP are fond of. That kind of evidence shouldn't even be admissible IMO. I hope they nailed this guy on DNA.

    Canada - Barry, 75, & Honey Sherman, 70, found dead, Toronto, 15 Dec 2017 #1

A high profile case like this you want your best and brightest working all angles. And where do most metro departments keep their best and brightest? Homicide.

    Canada - Barry, 75, & Honey Sherman, 70, found dead, Toronto, 15 Dec 2017 #1

My first opinion was a murder suicide. But with the news on how the bodies were found I am now going with a suicide pact. It would be extremely difficult to stage a suicide that involves a double hanging.

Laura Babcock Murder Trial - *GUILTY*

Appears it is full speed ahead for the WM trial but I wish the Crown would simply let it pass. For one thing another trial will cost the taxpayers of Ontario at least a couple million dollars. And like the LB trial, DM would likely be permitted to unfreeze close to a million in family funds...

Laura Babcock Murder Trial - *GUILTY*

I am surprised by the verdict for MS. I didn't think the evidence was there for M1. Unless cleaning up the crime is viewed the same as committing the crime. But I won't be losing any sleep over this verdict. Even if MS got a raw deal with the LB trial he is still where he should be for the...

Laura Babcock Murder Trial - *GUILTY*

In Alberta, high school teachers with 10 years experience earn $99,300 per year. A year is 10 months. In BC that same teacher earns $81,500 And the benefits are far from subpar.

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.12.17 - Final Charge - *Verdict Watch*

I suspect you learn very fast that if you want to be a successful criminal defence lawyer you need to check your ethics, morals, conscience etc. All that matters is winning - provided you keep in good standing with the bar association. If you want to contribute to the betterment of society...

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.12.17 - Final Charge - *Verdict Watch*

Exactly Andrew. The jury knows the prior history of this pair so there isn't necessarily that fear of sending an innocent man to prison. The jury may find there isn't enough evidence to convict MS of murder but oh well he should do 50 years for TB anyways. Guilty.

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.12.17 - Final Charge - *Verdict Watch*

I predict M1 for DM and not guilty on all 3 options for MS

Babcock Murder Trial - Weekend Discussion #6

There is no way this jury is ignorant of the Bosma case. Most - maybe even all of them - have heard the major points of that story/trial/verdict. Mindful of this, I suspect the selection process focused on the potential jurors degree of influence from the TB media coverage and his/her ability...

Babcock Murder Trial - Weekend Discussion #5

For the drama I agree 100%. That would be something! But as the evidence stands now I can't see it. Dungey has to be happy with where he sits. The Crown did not prove to me beyond a reasonable doubt that MS was involved in Laura's murder. If the charge to the jury is limited to M1, M2 or...

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 11.22.17 - Day 20

I'm never going to be mistaken for a legal scholar so a little help here pls. Under Cdn law if you help dispose of a murder victim are you guilty of said murder even if you had nothing to do with the actual killing? That is the only way I can fit MS into this picture. The evidence is poor (so...

What did Dr Burns call DM in his police interview....was it a twisted little prick? Love it!

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 11.15.17 - Day 16

Agree 100%. But wouldn't every single one of us do the same in such a situation. I think yes.

I think this screen shot from the CHCH news is what you're referring to.

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 11.08.17 - Day 12

Is Mr Dungey representing MS through Ontario Legal Aid or is a family member paying some very fat legal bills?

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 11.08.17 - Day 12

I would be extremely disappointed if a first degree murder conviction for LB runs concurrently (at the same time) with the TB conviction. I appreciate this trial is about justice for Laura and her family but IMO if the parole ineligibility for these two doesn't get bumped to 50 years (25x2)...

Babcock Murder Trial - Weekend Discussion #2

Due to the fact the gun used in the TB murder was unaccounted for the police were taking no chances when they initially attended the Smich home. The ERT was used to enter and secure the residence - the front door was 'kicked' open. MS's mother was in the back yard. MS was not home. Mrs...
