    Verdict Watch Discussion Thread

My own opinion, but I'd like to offer a suggestion about the verdict. The "Right" verdict is not the verdict us normal lemmings, the little people want - which could be any manner of verdicts. A large number of vexacious people just want someone - anyone - to pay. The jury will make a decisoon...

    Verdict Watch Discussion Thread

I thought a good trial! We saw good and bad in everything from witnesses, to the accused, to evidence, to the practicing of law... Yup. Happy this one is in the books. I can't wait for the behind the scenes stuff to completely get revealed, pity we have to wait for the trial for the murder...

Bosma Murder Trial - Weekend Discussion #18

Unfortunately the victim didnt deserve any of this, and all the reprecusions that come from it. And no, Bosma is not on trial. MS and DM are on trial. Their trial being done fairly and impartially is all that matters. Feelings of sorrow , hate, sadness, etc etc etc do not belong in a court...

Bosma Murder Trial - Weekend Discussion #18

I think that would apply, if they put the gun on him and forced him into the truck at the start. The cases are similar are too dissimilar for the case law to be usable. In the scenarios given it was a quick flash of the gun and dead. It is unlikely of an ongoing holding of the victim given...

Bosma Murder Trial - Weekend Discussion #18

Actually, on the contrary, they went into panick mode. They went hiding stuff, taking preparations, they were NOT ready.

Bosma Murder Trial - Weekend Discussion #18

no, not the same thing. Think broader. He migth mentally be ready and prepared to kill, say if he had to, if he got caught, whatever. But planning to kills a specific target is something more. Being ill prepared for clean up litterally means he wasnt set up. He didn't plan it that night...

Bosma Murder Trial - Weekend Discussion #18

Knowing a crime had been committed, and helping to clean up, doesn't make one a murderer, but does mean both would run and hide the same. So hiding and fleeing prosecution doesn't make both of them guilty of first degree murder.

Bosma Murder Trial - Weekend Discussion #18

I'll add, after Friday's part of the charge and this weekends interesting banter and discussion. Things I despise in court: Feelings. I'm sorry, I know it comes across cold. But a courtroom is a place for Law, not a place feelings of sadness, revenge etc etc. The words "justice for Tim" etc...

    Bosma Murder Trial 06.1.16 - Day 57 - Closing Arguments Day 2

All My own opinion: Today was a fine example, and a reminder, of what good legal representation is, and what the law is all about. Yes. The crown so far has a decent case. It isn't bullet proof, and a lot of the testimony presented is full of holes and lies, and people protecting their own...

    Bosma Murder Trial 05.25.16 - Day 55

Hmm. I'm not sure any more. After millards lawyer bungled his cross, the crown was much more aggressive and had a slightly better cross. However, as someone who has worked in the legal realm, It didn't feel like a good cross. I mean, I've seen better in smaller criminal trials. Largely, it...

    Bosma Murder Trial 05.19.16 - Day 52

I've been lurking and watching this case for a while now. As a former Hamiltonian, I was interested when the case broke in the news. As a former paralegal and Bailiff, these last few weeks, especially this week, have been painful to read. DM's councel hasn't been that awesome, publicly at...
