5 years ago today. Hard to believe how quickly the time passes.
I saw an article on the murder in the student paper last week. I'll see if there is anything else in the local press
RIP Yingying
There was a wreath placed on a stand in front of the tree sometime back in March-April. I'm not sure what the occasion was, but it was there. The last few things at the foot of the tree and the pictures on it were removed sometime in May, I think.
Frankly, with all that has been going on on...
Hard to believe that it was four years ago today that this happened.
I didn't see any local media reports on the anniversary today.
Everything has been removed from the tree where she was standing. Nothing was placed there today, although it did appear that someone had placed some flowers...
Just checking in. Not much going on, as expected.
A few days ago, I drove by Yingying's memorial, and someone had put a large wreath on a stand next to her tree. I assume it was placed there for her birthday, which is December 21st. If I have time tomorrow or Saturday, I will grab a quick...
Thanks for that. Hope you are doing well.
I drove by her memorial the other day for the first time in a few weeks. I noticed that the makeshift memorial around the tree had been mostly cleaned up, although a string of pictures was still attached to the tree. I must admit that seeing no more...
After his sentencing, he was held in Livingston County for a while, then he was transferred to the OKC transit facility. From there he went to USP McCreary in Kentucky, where he was housed for a month or two. He was then sent back to OKC, then moved to Coleman II where he is now.
I am just speculating here, but my guess is he was moved for his protection. I tend to believe he basically did what he said when it comes to disposing of her body, but if he is lying about that and her remains are somewhere else, there is no way he could ever change his mind and reveal her...
Another question for Cousin Yeti:
Not the original question I planned on involving some of the photos of his apartment, but another one that hasn't really been addressed yet.
In your opinion, what was it that got his lawyers to drop their mental health defense for the penalty phase of the...
Thanks for that excellent response. Very informative.
That is the one thing that has always given me pause about the bathroom. It isn't big and would be difficult to swing a bat there, but I still think it could be done. It is always possible that he hit her in the head with it on the bed...
I forgot to mention also, today is the 3 year anniversary of Yingying's kidnapping-murder. Can be easy to miss with all that is going on now.
RIP Yingying.
I think I remember what that was. He was confessing his interest in serial killers/wanting to kill someone to her while drunk and she demanded he stop drinking and get help for it. Not long after that she considered divorce but opted to stay with him but open the marriage. I am sure Cousin...
Thanks again for all your help. I have been awfully busy the past several weeks and never seemed to have time to come on here to ask more questions.
It is late, but I had a quick one if you could get to it when you have time:
How much help (if any) did you get from Chinese law enforcement...
Regarding the warrant: I figured it was probably something like that you viewed it as a toss-up on whether you would have enough to get a warrant for the apartment - I had forgotten that the agents who went to his apartment on the 12th to speak with him about the car and his whereabouts that day...
Yes, the red top was addressed in your response to Parametric. I will always wonder if part of Christensen's motivation with having her wear red was as a subtle insult to Yingying's family, but that is just speculation on my part.
You also addressed the issue of the blood on the bed and...
@TEB
thank you again for all you have done. You may not *feel* like it, but you are incredibly brave -then and now.
One of the most disgusting things at the trial for me was an instance where it appeared they were blaming you for contributing to what he had done. Because of my work...
Thanks again for all your help. I think all my questions regarding the investigation into how he got her into the bag and back to the apartment have been covered. It is clear that unless he comes out and gives the whole story (which is unlikely) we will probably never know . That is probably...
I also am interested in your thoughts on how cooperative she was throughout the investigation and the legal proceedings. I remember reading in a newspaper story a quote from one of the FBI agents working the case (Tengalia, iirc) that basically said Michelle started out very cooperative and...
