No offense at all skywalker. I, like you and so many others, just want to see this case solved! I Diddo what Snick said. I'm sure LE is ruling out or has already ruled out old acquantances/co-employees of Dr. Hunter's.

    Omaha Double Murder #2

Dr Hunter is an all around fantastic and respected pathologist. He can do clinical pathology, anatomic pathology (including autopsy, both medical and forensics cases, and surgical pathology and cytology), blood bank (he's boarded in blood bank), etc. He's very good and knowledgeable. He also...

    Omaha Double Murder #2

skywalker, All pathologists look under microscopes. Dr. Hunter is a general pathologist also with special experience/aptitude in forensic pathology. what is more he knows many, many other forensic pathologists. Sometimes I wonder if he had a dispute with one, perhaps set them off...

Bern posted....."Another thing I think about is, you are there to let's say rob the place, so today it is not unheard of to do it in daylight hours cause people are working, but you don't ring the doorbell if you don't think they are home. You go in a back door, so let's go with they are stupid...

That's an excellent point Yellowdog. If Shirlee's family claim that under no circumstances would she open the door at a client's house, then it would seem logical that Tommy would have answered the door. The half-eaten sandwich is consistent with that scenario, although not proof by any means.

I think she is one of the "busy" cardiologists though. She is very active in practice and administration, actually. She would rarely be home at 3-5 pm on a weekday, if ever, unless she was on vacation. But when on vacation, it sounds as though she's off traveling (like to Hawaii), and thus not...

    Omaha double murder

Here is why I DO NOT think the killer was after Mrs. Dr. Hunter............WHAT CARDIOLOGIST IS HOME AT 3PM-5PM ON A THURSDAY??? THE ANSWER................NONE!!!! No cardiologist (one of the busiest medical specialties) is ever home at 3pm -5pm....guaranteed. Therefore, why would a killer plan...

    Omaha double murder

Don't get me wrong, I do not think for one minute Mr. or Mrs. Hunter had anything to do with these murders. I do, however, think these murders were direct retaliation for something they did and was done to prove a point. Kind of like, "hey, see, try and solve this" kind of a thing.

    Omaha double murder

Does anyone find it a coincidence that a pathologist (with specialty in forensics and cardiovascular pathology-i.e. crime scene investigations, performing autopsies, meticulous attention to detail, etc. ) finds his son and housekeeper murdered in his own home, with apparently little evidence...

    Omaha double murder

Snick, Good point. From what I can tell, Thomas must have been mature for his age and worldly. His dad is a pathologist, his mom a cardiologist. I'm sure he overheard many an interesting story, especially from two docs from Creighton, an institution where the most bizarre things happen all...

    Omaha double murder

It's amazing to me that a case like the Hunter-Sherman murders haven't received the national media's attention like the recent murder of that unfortunate Yale graduate student. I can only wonder if the outcome of this investigation would be different had the national attention been different.???

    Omaha double murder

Yellow Dog, I'm assuming Moonlighter has good enough sources to believe him/her in saying the knives were from the home. I think the killer had precise knowledge of anatomy because it sounds like both wounds were the same (neck) and he escaped with presumably little blood on him, making...

    Omaha double murder

This may be coming from way out in left field, but I wonder if the killer was trying to frame Dr. Hunter. I mean it might make sense, the knives used were from the home. The knives may have even had Dr. Hunter's fingerprints on them since he may have used them the day before to cook. And the...

    Omaha double murder

Yes!! The answer probably is much simpler than we think. There probably was no drug problem angle, no Creighton connection, no pissed off patient, no pissed off resident.........could be something as simple as some neighborhood kid/adult went nuts. thx KT Can and Snick for the interesting...

    Omaha double murder

That is not Dr. Hunter in the photo. It does look a bit like him though, maybe his brother? What does it matter who the woman in the photo is? She's probably just a relative. As far as wether or not the knives were indeed from the Hunter home, I trust Moonlighter in saying that they...

    Omaha double murder

I don't personally subscribe to the murder-suicide theory but it is something to think about since the only people we know that were around the crime scene are Sherman, Tom, and Dr. Hunter. I feel very sure this was rage directed toward someone in the Hunter family. If this were an Omaha...

    Omaha double murder

Moonlighter, I find it highly unlikely that someone with the intent and mental makeup to kill two people in cold blood would fail to bring a weapon (s) with them. And if they didn't intend to kill at that time, then there by inference would be no reason to cover up the fact that the...

    Omaha double murder

Greykid, interesting. I think the issue of wether the weapon (s) were brought in by the perpretator puts the answer to this case into one of two categories: 1) He brought weapon (s) with him to home. a. This scenario leaves one of two possibilities...

    Omaha double murder

Yellow Dog, exactly. I mean how does this happen in a busy, upscale neighborhood to a Man known to be expert at solving complex problems and no-one knows anything?!?!? As Snick said in his first post, "something is very wrong here."
