    Trial Discussion Thread #59 - 14.21.10, Day 48 ~ sentencing~

As a professed Christian CP should reflect on these words : 'Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? ' I would suggest that before he judges others regarding self righteousness and love of money he should first examine...

Maybe Aimee should also have packed his cheetah legs in the Woolies bag, so he can outrun ' The General ' if ever their paths should cross lol .

It is a mockery , she should have said 5 years minimum. She would be well aware of the actual time he would serve and if she thinks ten months is fair and just to society for blowing the brains out of a human being , then she certainly needs her bumps felt ( so to speak ).

OMG , you would think he was on his way to the gallows. He and his family should be thanking their lucky stars that he is not going down for 25 years, which IMO is the sentence he truly deserved !

Nel recommended 10 years minimum. If he is only expected to serve 10 months of the five years, that is only one month for every full year of Nel's recommendation. Why the hell did she bother even asking Nel's opinion on sentencing , when it obviously has went in one ear and out the other .

The DT are jumping the gun as who knows, having a short fuse and in the past threatening to break someone's legs, he might get violent if crossed. A fellow prisoner could be whacked over the head with a prosthetic leg , could even be Dewani (hopefully ). Five years will then be his lot !!

At least when locked in his cell he will have no fear of black talon bullets blowing his brains out through the top of his skull , which is what Reeva suffered at his hands !

Of course he is , far away indeed. Poor him though, he even sold his car, his last asset in order to offer the proceeds to the Steenkamps . He has actually nothing left and has to get about on shank's mare. Who is he trying to kid , IMO the majority of his money and assets will have been...

I don't think she will get anything from the brilliant Nel's argument but the rest of the world will. She looked mesmerised by Roux like Gwyneth Paltrow was to Obama lol.

I agree, a big drama had to be created out of something trivial, to try take attention away from any sympathy afforded to the victim via Kim's testimony. This family are masters at manipulation and it appears to have worked, as now most media attention is focused on this incident.

Thanks lithgowI, I love Nel but I think this should have been said in private . I really don't think that clapping and cheering at a serious trial such as this where a young woman has been brutally killed is appropriate.
