I'm not a forensic expert but she'd recently been in the pub on a busy night so I imagine it's possible that other people's DNA was transferred onto her.
Thanks for the laughs - although it feels disrespectful to be laughing when discussing this case - I couldn't help myself and maybe a bit of light relief is OK amongst all the tragedy here.
So would I but I'd hate him to be in any kind of open prison or having a comfortable life. Is there any EU agreement whereby a prisoner serves their time here but their own country pays the bill?
I agree. His family don't live far from England so they can visit him easily here via car, train or plane. His mother is only in her 70s and isn't bedridden so she can travel.
The extent of how dangerous this man is makes me shudder. We now know that he was fired up with an insatiable sexual appetite for strangling a pretty woman and his high intelligence and rationality weren't enough to prevent him from acting on his perverted drive for sexual satisfaction.
The...
I think one of the reasons he didn't get rid of all the traces of his internet use is that he couldn't stop looking at this kind of stuff. For example, he was even looking at it while searching for stories about JY's disappearance and death. Another reason is that he probably wouldn't be able to...
Maybe not - it might not have been used due to the possibility of it being someone else. However, seeing the actions of that unidentified man and knowing what we know now, I'm inclined towards thinking it might well have been him.
Sickening that he was switching between looking at articles about JY's disappearance & death and looking at *advertiser censored* involving women being strangled. Not even the magnitude of what he'd done to her could dampen his sexual appetite - in fact it appears it was quite the reverse. I hope he's never...
I'm still dumbstruck that the judge wouldn't let the jury be told about the type of *advertiser censored* he'd been watching regularly eg blond girls being strangled and bound in boots of cars! FFS how is that not relevant to a case where a blond girl has been strangled and put in the boot of a car?
I can't...
I wouldn't feel foolish if it were me. You have to make a judgement on the evidence available and if you genuinely feel some doubt about the proof then the correct thing is to vote accordingly.
Having now heard the extra evidence, I'm sure they are very glad that the majority verdict was...
Why not? I don't understand why "an escalating penchant for sexual violence" should be inadmissible.
Watching *advertiser censored* or using prostitutes is probably something lots of men do and I could understand that not being presented in court but sexual violence is surely relevant?
I'm pleased they went with the majority vote and not disappointed with the result as there are many here who also have no reasonable doubt of his intent, unlike me who isn't 100% convinced.
I'm also pleased for her family & friends as that's the verdict I'd have wanted if I were them.
As I said before:
I'm assuming that I'd need to be "beyond all reasonable doubt" to cast a vote for a guilty of murder verdict and personally, I'm not.
