Has anybody found footage of A&S police answering questions at the hotel? I started watching on Sky News & it suddenly cut to adverts then after the break, they continued with the scheduled programme?

I had a cursory look on the red button but couldn't see & the kids are now watching something anyway.

how fricking annoying was that?!!

I wonder what other things the police want to talk to him about. Possession of violent *advertiser censored* seems irrelevant at this point, unless they want to know where he got it. I wonder if there are other crimes they think he might have been involved in. Didnt he google some other murders?

A still image of two unclothed woman tied up in the boot of a car was also found on his hard-drive, along with a pictures of a girl matching Jo’s description.

IS HE GOING TO BE QUESTIONED ABOUT THIS,

Let's hope so - assuming that it was not downloaded from an extreme *advertiser censored* site.

Interesting article on the witheld information

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...d-on-tabak-*advertiser censored*-2377177.html

That was worth a read - interesting the potential impact of this information that Lickey was concerned about discussing with the Judge.

yes could be ,but if they are questioning him about those particular images ?
If this does apply makes you wonder if this could be the work of a ring he might have been involved with.

Photography features on his CV as his interest - my mind is now working over-time if it is not Photography in the usual sense !

Sleuths - in retrospect, what elements of VT's evidence do you now believe to be true ?

I'm still dumbstruck that the judge wouldn't let the jury be told about the type of *advertiser censored* he'd been watching regularly eg blond girls being strangled and bound in boots of cars! FFS how is that not relevant to a case where a blond girl has been strangled and put in the boot of a car?

I can't see how not knowing these things made for a fairer trial - seems completely unfair to me that the prime motive for his actions was withheld and it risked an unjust verdict based on ignorance of the facts.

From Skynewsgather
Police are to requestion Tabak about items they found on his computer.

Wonder what this is about?

It's an offence under s63 of the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008 " to be in possession of an extreme pornographic image" such as one that depicts "an act which threatens a person's life".

Well, possession of extreme pornographic images is a crime. The police are obliged to investigate crime when they become aware of it. Presumably they were unable to do so previously for fear of prejudicing the trial that has just concluded.

As explained by the BBC's legal expert; had the judge allowed the '*advertiser censored* evidence' etc to be admitted, than VT would have had grounds for appeal and might have got the guilty verdict quashed.

Because there is no direct cause and effect.

It is perfectly possible for people to view violence and not feel the need to copy it in real life.

Many of us view unsavoury material when we watch drama (or even the news) on the television.

It would be grossly unfair if someone wrongly accused of, say a shooting, was convicted as a result of them viewing Gaddafi's body on a mortuary slab, or a rather unsavoury shot from Spooks. And, as aneurin has just pointed out, the use of dubious evidence could lead to an appeal dismissing the entire conviction.

However, once convicted, such evidence becomes very relevant to sentencing, as we saw today.

The images of girls with their top pulled up, exactly as Jo was found, and one image referred to as one of a girl bearing a striking resemblance to Jo, as well as scenes depicting strangulation. I can accept that the use of extreme *advertiser censored* sites might have been considered prejudicial, but those I specifically refer to are mighty close to what happened, enough for me to think it impacted on intent.

On a personal note, the BBC TV coverage of the memorial garden they intend to landscape in Jo's memory has just made me cry.

I am glad that the right person is behind bars.

Nothing can bring back Jo though. May she rest in peace now.

I also feel sorry for Tabak's family and his girlfriend, he lied and manipulated them too.

Yes, I agree, but it's such a beautiful place. I'm so glad that all the memorials for JY will be positive, life-enhancing things. For her family and friends, I'm thankful that there is nothing to tarnish her beloved memory.
