Sinister

Yeh, and when others pointed it out some of those we know said there was nothing in it.Uphill struggle for those who were pretty sure this case was more sinister.

It must have been infuriating for Jo's family to know the depravity of this man, see his "act" for the jury, hear his "blaming of their "flirtatious daughter for her own death, and then have the judge rule that the PROOF..the motive...was inadmissible.

How easily this jury might have been "played" for fools by VT...two of them essentially were...because the key to the whole puzzle was not available to them due to this judge's ruling.

There is too much concern for these monsters. Trials seem less and less about the truth.

That is neither justice for Jo or for the next community this Monster might have put at risk with his predatory presence!

After the shocking revelations of this afternoon, it still surprises me that an intelligent man like VT would have been so very careless - leaving his DNA on the body, JY's blood in his car, all that "stuff" on his computer... Why was he so confident that he would never be caught? As the next-door neighbour, he was always going to be a suspect.

A still image of two unclothed woman tied up in the boot of a car was also found on his hard-drive, along with a pictures of a girl matching Jo’s description.

The girl, wearing similar clothes to Jo on the night she died, had her top raised in the photograph – mirroring her final position when she was dumped in Longwood Lane.
Is that why he was running around with his camera everywhere. Not for pictures of the snow it would now seem. Just cant believe it , and he could have been found not guilty.

I don't think JY's family would have known the inadmissible evidence though.

Delusions of Invincibility ?

EDIT: Let's just say for a moment that his use of escorts, fetish *advertiser censored* etc had been going on for a while - all unbeknown to those that knew him well and loved him. The ability to lead a double life without discovery. Boosts his confidence to do bad things and get away with them ? I think he is one weird individual whose predisposition to seedy and sick fantasies spilled over into real life.

OMG - very pleased he got the murder verdict now. What a twisted *advertiser censored*!

me too OMG I was semi-unconvinced of murder, leaning towards manslaughter same as you....I got tired of waiting and went out to work on the garden and when hubby checked the news he came to read this out to me, I was absolutely GOBSMACKED and I am 100% sure the prosecution was correct to continue insisting this crime was a sexual one since IT WAS.

I cant believe this guy! he's a disease! they better keep him locked up for life because he is clearly a danger! a "detached crazy person" just as he called himself!

I don't think JY's family would have known the inadmissible evidence though.

One of our group on this thread was aware of this from her time in court, so I would imagine the Yeates family knew. Police & legal team may (? unsure if this is protocol) have even briefed them on some of the unsavoury details prior to court.

From Richard Payne (ITV)
EXCLUSIVE interview with Christopher Jefferies, landlord of Jo Yeates' and #Tabak, plus others, on The West Country Tonight, ITV1 at 6

There's also a reconstruction of the murder on their website which can be viewed at any time:

http://www.itv.com/westcountry-east/

I'm not sure it's entirely accurate, but it is quite atmospheric (in a chilling kind of way) with lots of shots of relevant locations.

Interesting article on the witheld information

The only thing that comes to mind is, were others involved and therefore he was more confident he could get away with it. It seems other blonds have been targets in that area in one way or another.

If not he must have known he would be caught.

From Skynewsgather
Police are to requestion Tabak about items they found on his computer.

Wonder what this is about?

Possible charge for possessing extreme pornographic images, I'd guess. The legislation is fairly new - there was a test case in January 2011, and I dare say they'd like a further case in which the risk of viewing such images can be linked to murder.

Why was he so confident that he would never be caught? As the next-door neighbour, he was always going to be a suspect.

Don't forget that for the first few weeks the police were virtually clueless. This probably gave him a false sense of security - it was truly ironic that he effectively gave himself way when, having tried to put the blame on CJ, he was re-interviewed by police who then noticed his unnatural curiosity over the forensic details of the case.

The phone girl from the sobbing girl (I bet that was TM) and DNA testing then confirmed their suspicions.

Has anybody found footage of A&S police answering questions at the hotel? I started watching on Sky News & it suddenly cut to adverts then after the break, they continued with the scheduled programme?

I had a cursory look on the red button but couldn't see & the kids are now watching something anyway.

No, I waited for it but .....No doubt it will be re-edited and repeated later on this evening.

perhaps that's why they suddenly disappeared... the "inadmissable evidence" came as a shock to them

very strong words from Mr & Mrs Yeates too.... so, so sad.

I had been wondering if they had left out of deference to the feelings of Joanna's family and Greg.

Thanks to nursebeeme for that big GUILTY and the new thread title!
