ZIMS at Geary and Van Ness and one further downtown were the two that I remember. I am pretty sure that they were never privy to anything other than a pay-phone at either location. While GW was at work Brody spent most of his time watching TV in their room at the hotel. I never saw him socialize...
It may have been as long as a month before I turned my eyes more closely on Waters/Brody. Up 'till then we were concentrating on searching the creek and surrounding areas closer to the ranch.
The quote attributed to LE is misleading. Annasmom informed LE almost immediately regards Anna's...
I agree. "ACE (Anna) lost" is certainly a bewildering entry to post. Impossible to get inside George Waters' head, but under the circumstances why would he write anything at all? And why not "missing"?
The Abby Hotel and the Paul Hotel are one and the same. In the 70's the hotel was owned by the Patel (sp) family, a large East Indian family with small hotel holdings thruout the U.S. The hotel was sold and the name changed some time after 1973.
Cubby: Good idea. Sorry, my memory fails me. Annasmom or Doogie have access to my notes and could probably give you that info. Thank you for your unwavering support.
joepoke said... Mikie, Thanks for publishing The Bus Log. I am certain that if Anna were to see it there would be no doubt she would remember that magical mystery tour. Nor the one-and-a-half gainer she so scarily performed from out one of the bus windows.

ps. I'm sending your blog site...
Is it possible to include a direct link to LULU on the forum or in all the posts so it would be easier to order the book? It might be discouraging to some to have to backsearch through all the posts to find the connection. Just a thought.
Dear Mr. Ford,
Thank you for contacting Mr. Miller. I will pass this info on to him when
I get a chance. Right now, we are in North Carolina working on several
cases, and then back to Florida for the search for Caylee Anthony. I'm
not sure when I can get a response for you from Tim, but...
FYI:
Dear Mr. Miller:
I am contacting you on behalf of the family of Anna Waters who disappeared from a ranch in California and has never been found. My name is Joe Ford and I was Anna's stepdad at the time and there the day she vanished.
Firstly, I want to offer my sincerest condolences...
I would be happy to initiate contact with Mr. Miller and his organization on the Family's behalf. I will also send him the book with our request for advice and information. I will, of course, stipulate that any forthcoming plans or procedures be directed to Annasmom and Dr.Doogie for...
Hot damn, Cubby !!! Yours is just the kind of dust-stirring, boots-on-the-ground response that I have been hoping to hear. Bless you. Until now I had never even heard of Tim Miller or TES. I have just come from their website http://www.texasequusearch.org/ and am simply overwhelmed and impressed...
This might be a good time to point out that it is not my opinion that Anna fell into the creek and drowned. I am in complete agreement with Annasmom and the rest of you dedicated sleuthers that it is imperative the search be pursued on all fronts.
The perplexing mist surrounding Anna's...
You are right, of course. The comparison may be an unfair exaggeration. I use it only to illustrate the terrifying and almost unimaginable power of rushing water and its capacity for destruction and upheaval.
Good job researching. This lead seems plausible. If the census is correct, and George Brody was 9 years old in 1930, it would give him the birth year of 1921. That would make him 52 in 1973. To me he appeared to be at least ten years older than that. But...maybe?
