Wow, geevee. I haven't really given too much thought to the camera possibilities or computer because there's no way of knowing but you've given me an epiphany, sort of.
I didn't know there was two memory cards in the washer. I thought it was just Travis' card in there. That's interesting. I remember Jodi suggesting to the detective that the pictures were from another day, which could mean Jodi was trying to tell him something. But she also did the same thing for the handprint and the hair so there's no way to know. I also remember her drawing the memory cards for the det. I think she was trying to draw two of her cards but one of them sounds like she was drawing the one that was found alongside Travis' memory card. It's almost like she was trying to point him in some direction without having to come out and say so because that would be admitting more knowledge of something she was supposed to know nothing about. Or she could have just said they were from another day, she remembers taking them and then play dumb when he asks how they got there marked June 4th. But that's a little risky especially if the pictures were originally on her camera, which would, again, place her at the scene. But she could also say she lost it at Travis'...oy vey. Realizing the pictures actually help her case, she dropped it, because it makes her look like an invited guest to a willing Travis.
Also, does anyone know exactly what color Jodi's hair was the day she left Mesa? Was it still blonde or did it have those brassy blonde highlights she was sporting weeks before the murder? Although I don't think those pictures on her myspace with that hair style and color were from then anway. They look earlier because in her picture at the Othello play, Jodi has the same style and length she had when her hair was blonde, it's just brunette now. Julie, Travis' friend had dinner with him and Jodi, I THINK, two weeks before she left Mesa and she says Jodi's hair was still blonde. Jodi tells detective Flores that the neighbors only know her as a blonde. So how does that explain the dark hair in the sex pictures? That is the one thing, aside from the date, that has me believing they are indeed from that day. There's no other explanation. But I really want a definitive answer on the color of her hair when she went back to Mesa. Someone must have seen her. I guess no one thought that it was TOO important. But it is for the premeditation and the car rental guy says it was blonde. Not brown with blonde highlights, not brown, blonde.
There's also the computer part. Jodi has told two different stories about what happened in there even though there was no reason to, as if she was preemptively trying to explain something away (and notice how Travis becomes more cartoonishly villainous the more versions of a story she tells? Ugh). I always thought Jodi had tried to gain access to the computer behind Travis' back and was denied. But maybe she wasn't and was able to snoop around, that's why both stories regarding the computer room have her not being able to get on. But if she transferred the pictures at that time, wouldn't the computer's files show that?
And I think even though Juan was forced to concede that the pictures were from that day and can't share any theories regarding the computer, he has his theories. He asked the computer guy in his rebuttal if there's any way to tell if the computer activity just before the murder was Travis or Jodi or anybody. There's no way of course? So it could have been Jodi? Sure. Jodi shakes her head no at this line of questioning, a definite tell.
Maybe the sex pictures were taken on that day but with Jodi's camera. But why would she delete them and why would she leave it behind? Maybe an accident, maybe they were deleted so no one would see them. Maybe she did transfer them to Travis' card. But again, why were they deleted? Maybe she had a different plan, an alternative to killing Travis and they were only deleted when the set up mission was aborted. That final month was a whirlwind of manipulations and games that included the sex tape, the sex text, her journal entries, etc. Maybe the camera was going to be a part of it and the murder was the backup. Maybe she wanted everyone to see the pictures of them having sex so everyone thinks of Travis being with Jodi and Jodi being the most special to him. But, once again why were they deleted and washed if that was the end game? I really don't know. It's all so confusing and convoluted that I'm just going to continue to apply the simplest explanation to things. But you have definitely given me something to think about, especially that extra memory card.
