Bottom line, the statement TM quited LP as saying is ambiguous. TM apparently took it a way which would indicate LP was trying to profit by looking for Caylee. The quote was later embellished with the skull comment. LP could have been trying to encourage TM to stay. "We" could have meant a cooperative action by LP and TM for the benefit of TES; like searching together. LP's follow-up actions, which help put things in context, were to give TES the portion of the money LP received on his website AND to refund the money to the donors. LP is wealthy in his own right. He doesn't need money. Everyone has had moments when their statements have been misinterpreted. We know LP states his theories and thinks out loud on the NG show, but people characterize it as changing his mind or insisting. He doesn't know. He's thinking out loud. But, if a poster doesn't like his character style they couch his comments as negative. He's a little rough around the edges. He doesn't have the polish that other characters do. But still, there are smoother talkers in this saga that don't have a good reputation for honesty. Okay.

Because Tim said that Leonard "Think of all the money WE could make, Tim!" while talking about Tim holding up Caylee's skull. He didn't say, money for equasearch, money for the search effort, he said "WE." And how anyone can still respect this man after he puts Caylee's skull and money into the same sentence is beyond me.

I believe Tim when he says Leonard said it. I have read extensively about the past histories of both of these men, and not one thing I've read would make me believe Tim would lie about this. I also believe that Tim would still be searching EXCEPT that to protect the reputation of TEQ, he had to disassociate from Leonard Padilla.

As for the unbolded portion of your post refer to post 754. I think Themis is right on.

OSCO did use the very same media to criticize LP, which example meets the textbook definition you provided re: hypocrisy.

Since you desire additional examples: how about the fact that LE kept arresting Casey, with the ever-present media throng that congregated outside her parents' home on Hopespring, instead of allowing her to turn herself in? This was the subject of a lot of defense complaints re: it being prejudicial, etc. :waitasec:

I'm not trying to bash OSCO here, but I am saying it's hypocritical of them to criticize LP over the media, 'cause if you really want to go looking for examples of OSCO using the very same media to its advantage when it suited it, one doesn't have to look too far.

I am speaking narrowly, addressing one topic. You are speaking broadly, addressing many.

My comments were strictly addressed to "SEARCH & RECOVERY" attempts. I was not discussing the useage or barring of media from arrests, etc. Search and Recovery....what Leonard says he was doing. But really, even IF we were to discuss media being present at the arrest, the definitive difference is that LE would not have called media to be there.

Tim Miller is the one who was there, who heard Leonard's inflections and tones as he spoke the words; Tim is the one who watched Leonard's body language while the statement was being said. That he did not interpret the conversation in the same way as Leonard's fans (who were not there) does not surprise me.

Tim heard it said: Tim explained what he heard, and I'm not going to try to override him. I think TIM is the best judge of what LP was telling him, not internet posters who were not there.

And by the way, the money collected on the website was collected FOR TEQ. So if Leonard gave those funds to Tim, it's not that he was working out of the goodness of his heart.

I just looked at the clip with all of them lined up like ducks in a row. Something is not right with this picture and it is not the camera angle that is the problem.

Well, for one thing, Tim's body language indicates that he feels or wants to be disconnected from the rest -- his legs are crossed "against" the rest, he's looking down and away from them, etc. Like he doesn't want to be there.

Well I do know that Tim pulled out early (for the second time) to my dismay after saying he would stay until little Caylee is found and that LP kept searching like he said he would. And as for him (TM) saying they will keep coming back I just feel like time is of the essence, the longer we wait the less chance she will be found. Let's keep searching, now not later!!

I also think that if Tim pulled out of searching for little Caylee JUST because of LP and his "circus" that is very childish. The main point is forget about LP's motives forget about TM FIND CAYLEE!! If Leonard asked Tim to hold Caylee's skull up before cameras "privately" that doesn't make it ok to me. I can well imagine that Leonard would know that to say such a thing publically would ruin him for the rest of his life. It doesn't make it wrong for Tim to "out" him, either, not privately, OR publically. I can actually understand WHY he would need to "tell on" Leonard publically, since the public were the ones who were (in Tim's experienced eye) being duped by Leonard. I am THANKFUL Tim explained why he pulled out of the search, I am THANKFUL he exposed Leonard's motives.

If I misunderstood your comments about Leonard and Tim, I apologize.

I know....I have two dogs,two cats and a horse, and well...if someone ever hurt them I'm not sure what I would do. It wouldn't be good. Wait until I have children!

We bury every one of our pets that have died. I even made my son bury my cockatiel that died a couple years ago. I can't believe someone who LOVED an animal and spent that much money on them could just chunk them out the window like garbage! Is that poster related to Casey, by any chance?

The fact is, some human beings are pigs - and I mean that in the nicest possible way Where there are people, there is trash...in our parks, in our rivers, along the roadsides, etc. Chances are that none of it is connected to Caylee.

Boy, that's an under statement. I was blown away by the amt of trash bags either buried or just thrown in the woods. Weird thing is, some of them were pretty deep into the woods. It would have been a hell of a lot easier to take them to the local dump then go thru the sticker bushes to put it in the woods. Kinda creepy to stumble over a full garbage bag deep in the woods when you are on a search.
