With the benefit of hindsight we know its relevance, but I agree at that stage CA apparently thought she was still just getting the runaround, and if Casey was found in a bar by Lee it would be appropriate for Caylee to be 'at home' with a sitter...

Ok that's interesting. Hmm. Yes. She would say to friends that Caylee was with her mom or the nanny, yet to her family she would say Caylee was with friends. Interesting. Thanks.

So you think this will be glossed over unless media pursues it, which they probably won't?

Well, ABC and local affiliate WFTV (i.e. Kathi Belich) have a vested interest in glossing over - a $200K vested interest.

CBS and local affiliate WKMG are buddy buddy with Baez, because he leaks all info to them now first. So they have vested interest not to upset him.

And sentinel is dropping the ball on this case.

That "serious concerns" language is boilerplate language they state in ANY case where a private attorney was paid more than the state would have paid if the attorney had been court appointed.

Some of you are familiar with my Jason Lenz case. I had him declared indigent for costs and cited the $25K his mother paid me after taking out a home equity line. They said they had "grave concerns" it their response to my case as well.

Is it normal practice for the JAC to want to participate in the actual hearing?

snipped
The JAC indicated they want to participate in next week's hearing as Judge Stan Strickland considers the issue. His decision could clear the way for Anthony to begin receiving tax dollars.

In their five-page response, the JAC also indicated they wouldn't pay for all costs, including travel expenses for out-of-state attorneys.

Can anyone outside of media express a concern over this, possibly try and file a motion to have the sealed info released from the Mar 25 hearing regarding the source of funding?

They almost always "participate" in every case I have been involved in, it is by phone.

I guess WESH, CFNEW13 and FOX have also dropped the ball or do they have some vested interest as well?

Simon & Schuster and CBS also have a corporate family relationship. It may not count for much here, but we had heard the potential book deal offered the Anthonys was through them. I would think that might be of some small influence.

Well, WESH is reporting on the issue. And while I love Fox, they are not a big local station. And CFNEWS 13? They are like the headline news of Orlando, all soundbite, no substance.

Mr. Hornsby, Don't you think that Judge S will get to the source of the funding to head off any issues of mishandling of funds as issues for appeal if she is found guilty?

Kathy, I haven't seen any of the local stations say they will carry it live YET.
The other hearings were open and televised so I expect this one to be also.

After all, they are going after public money.

No the hearing will be open. The "sealed" hearing I was referring to was the March 24 hearing where Baez, the Judge and the prosecution went behind closed doors with a court reporter.

That needs to be unsealed.

If Rozzy knows anything about $700,000 that Baez is supposed to get AFTER the case is over, wouldn't her testimony be revelant in the indigency hearing?

Unless she can prove what she is saying, I don't think she should have spouted it off tonight.

Concerning Steph - I have very serious concerns about his credibility.

Thank you, Mr. Hornsby. I admire your honesty.

RH " As long as Jose is Casey's only contact with the real world there will be no deal. If someone else takes over the case and tells her the truth...there may be a deal."

snipped and bbm

Interesting. Tells her the truth about what, about everything? Could Casey be in the dark so so much, really? I suppose she probably could. With her radio and whatever newspaper/tv she might get a little bit, maybe she can read and hear things her attorney doesn't tell her himself, but does she really have the comprehension level to understand? Her shenanigans in court give me little hope that she has a firm grip on the density. Her constant denial of guilt in the face of all the evidence is, well, I mean she's depending on people fighting over whether cotton fibers were there to begin with or not, rather than just JESUS CHRIST WE KNOW YOU DID IT! SAY SO ALREADY!

sorry. rant. i get so crazy.

Am I confused? The March 24th hearing- it's only the 14th now....

Mr. Hornsby,

If Baez is removed from the defense team, how much would that delay the start of the trial?

Thank you for your time :-)

OK because Rozzie was insistent that it was only one week after KC left and she named Fat Tuesdays which happens to be at Universal City Walk.

It was a ribs place that Lee went to to find KC and KC avoided him at the beginning of July. Or a chicken wing place. I can't remember the name, but it wasn't Fat Tuesdays.
Sorry to butt in here but I am following a lead. Are you all saying that this did not happen at Fat Tuesdays? because that CityWalk one just opened and I am trying to find one that was open in 2008. There was one on Church but I am not sure it was there in 2008.

ETA: Good to see you rhornsby and thanks for stopping by.
