What on earth is he whining about - "It would have been nice to have her sworn statement (before they deposed her) "- he is referring to Debbie Polisano's interview with LE.
Well Baez, here it is, all you have to do is look -

That was one of the most ridiculous statements. He knew that DP had been interviewed, couldn't he have checked online for the statement. His last job was training judges, lawyers, etc. how to use the internet for investigative purposes. Where is this man's head?

EXCELLENT point!!!!!!!!!!! Because now...not only has KC said so (in her letters to another inmate) but the family has confirmed it. Could it be that JB might now face his own legal issues based upon "written confirmation" by BOTH sides that under the radar letter exchanges did infact take place????????

Perhaps his "issue" with the letters is more out of concern for self preservation than violating the rights of his client.

Well done.

BTW........the jail guard SH.......investigated for her involvement in the jail letter exchange.......has been officially FIRED!

That is exactly how I interpreted JB's almost histrionic display regarding the letters to mean. He is worried about his own hide.
Not only did the Inmate state NUMEROUS times that the illegal letter exchange was done, but the Inmates parents confirmed it, as did Conway on TV, and Lee did also in texts to his parents.
We discussed this in detail in the "Letter to Casey From Cindy and George" thread - around page 20

So the big question is......Was JB totally unaware that KC was receiving this mail? Did she not disclose it to him? Obviously if I were to get threats I would have turned the letters over to my attorney and if I got letters in support I would think my attorney would be interested in those, too. Letters from family begging for her to see them. Would KC not have spoken to her attorney about that? Surely she discussed this with KC with all the motions to stop videotaping their visits.....he must have known about the letters and had an opportunity to review them at the time. So why is he crying about the release of them. They were released to him first and then the public, yet he acts as if he is totally in the dark about these letters. Would this not be the job of her attorney to at least look over any letters she received when their whole case so far is SODDI? I would love to see a motion from JB for sanctions. It's part of your job JB. Know exactly what your client is getting for mail because she has not gone to trial yet. Puts a BIG HOLE right in the middle of their SODDI theory, I would think. JB needs to get his mind off the SEMINAR he attended and back on the case...... jmo
The letters to Robyn referred to those who have been writing. This should have been deemed "old news".

KC talks about some of these letters she has received in her letters to the other inmate so I would think they were given to her. Whatever we have seen I think KC received. The apparent defense at this point is SODDI so for JB not to be interested in the mail she has been receiving all along is his incompetence, not SA's for releasing them. If the defense is SODDI they could be relevant.....more so than the TES records....... The fact that he was NOT interested in what type of mail she received pretty much points to the fact they know there is no other suspect. Why read these letters if you know KC is the one who committed the crime. By SA releasing them we are now all aware of JB's disinterest. Talk about being caught with your britches down. So all this time working on the SODDI defense is out the window I would imagine and now back to the drawing board. Oh, Casey-O-Marie what did that "blood" money pay for. jmo
Yeah...what LC said. LOL

It was an interesting hearing to say the least. The one thing I came away from this hearing is that JB should NEVER EVER be at a hearing on his own. It was truly painful to watch.

The other thing I noticed that as previous posters have commented on is that Casey's demeanor was a complete change in how she's been at EVERY hearing to date. I am curious to know what led to such a change.
My guess about KC's demeanor is that she is aware her Mother is upset with Baez for not getting those letters away from the Sunshine Law. Mother is upset with dad for writing "why" letter and George is not coming to the hearing (again). In the past Mother may have told her he was in S.Florida with his parents, but today she knows why he isn't there. For all we know, Mother may have had an unpleasant word with Andrea about those letters from home. I expect Mother to convince George to get back on track.

I agree.
I noticed the same thing about the Inmate and wondered what it was specifically that was different.
My conclusion is that her CONFIDENCE was missing - it has obviously taken a severe beating.
She was no longer sitting at the defense table with swagger and arrogance and making mad faces at the Prosecutors, because she felt she had the TEAM that was going to win this for her. No giggling and playing cutsey with her attorney. She looked somewhat defeated.

I think he was also wondering how the letters are evidence...and as evidence how they fit into the criminal trial. Clearly, these weren't the docs he was expecting to see.

On that train of thought ... how are the loony toon letters to the Judge(s) evidence in the criminal trial ... yet, they are still given to the Defense in Discovery and released to the public through the Sunshine Laws.

You may have nailed it, ThinkTank. That's exactly it - her confidence was gone. And she looked for the very first time like she had been defeated. Compare the photo posted on post #559 to the way she looked today. I don't think this had anything to do with her Mother - she could care less what her Mother thinks. Wonder if it WAS AL withdrawing from the case? ICA certainly seemed to like AL. Something is definitely wrong with ICA. WONDER WHAT HAS HAPPENED?????

I know i dont understand the law talk.. but all thatbumbling, monotone was actually very irritating...ugh...I REALLY HAD A HARD TIME FIGURING IT OUT..EXCEPT ALL YA'LL SMART ONES HERE POSTING THAT I CAN READ AHEAD OF TIME..:)

no george... i feel for him 80%...she really kicked him to the curb... that is sooo not right after what she put him thru killing Caylee :banghead: ...........ALLEGEDLY...

i think you got it backwards....HE kicked HER to the curb after she accused him of molestation

Just waiting for Cindy to come out against Baez in some 'shape form or fashion'

Aiyyy....for some reason that made me think of the days of the baseball bat and garden hose! :croc:

All kidding aside, I wonder when Cindy will blow? I bet Brad has his hands full with that woman. I'm surprised he is still able to hang on!

I agree that ICA did seem to have lost confidence in herself and did realize the seriousness of just what she is facing. The Honorable Judge Perry made a very sobering statement concerning 'death by lethal injection.' It would behoove ICA to pay close attention at all legal proceedings and behave accordingly to the seriousness of the situation. JMO.

O/T: I have Jury Duty beginning the last week of this month. I do not exactly look forward to it, but intend to do my very best.

I think that it is about freaking time that Casey realize how serious this is. It's only taken her two years but she has finally caught on. I'm glad that she appears to have lost her cockiness. Now if only Cindy would lose hers. For the first time it appeared that Casey was actually concerned and worried about her future, concerned about the job her lawyers are doing.

Then again it may have just been embaressment (sp?) on her part because this was the first "appearance" in front of the cameras since her fall.

Good luck with the Jury Duty!
