Maybe the court continued this, not Werter. However, the reasoning may be the same. It could be that the judge wants to get the harassment/mistreatment allegations out of the way prior to sentencing.

I just looked over all the dockets I could find for Tommy. Was the bus stop incident the one dated 11/06/2009, POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE and POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA? I'm just trying to get all these charges straight. This one, along with the trafficking charge, are what have been continued to August 6th, right?

What about this other case, which appears to be a different case than the GRAND THEFT he's already been sentenced on (time served)? This one says PENDING CASE:

aksleuth, I find it fishy, too! Not that I think the mistreatment allegations have any merit, but that for some reason the sentencing on a charge with a NOLO plea is being continued. I really cannot figure out why a defense attorney would continue that when his client is the one who wanted the sentencing over and done with quickly. Unless...they think the mistreatment allegations will affect the sentence in TC's favor. And that is a real possibility. Because other than the judge being ill or the attorney or his client being ill, I see no reason why sentence could not be imposed today, since it is a Nolo plea for which there are typically no extenuating factors.

Yep, that's why I think it's fishy. They're hoping for leniency on the sentencing if the court sides in favor of their mistreatment complaint. "My poor client has already endured blah, blah, blah......" Which, of course, in my opinion, should have no bearing. If LE is at fault, they should be sanctioned, but not reward a criminal at sentencing because his crimes speak for themselves.

It is just my opinion that the new date was caused by the complaint that Werter filed. There is a hearing on the complaint set for 7/16/10.I'm sure TC has to attend the hearing. 8/6 could just be the next available date for sentencing.

At first I was disappointed but a friend of mine pointed out that TC will have to endure 30 more days in the Putnam jail and he asked his attorney to get him out of the Putnam jail and 30 more days in his cell which to him is sub standard, 30 more days in gen. population, and 30 more days to worry about what his sentence will be.

If I am not mistaken this is the case where Tommy was found in the van with drugs and he was to be SENTENCED today, but it was also continued. I think they combined both cases. The one from 11/5/09 and the one from Jan 2010.

At the pretrial hearing, Hank Croslin pleaded no contest to one count of possession, a third degree felony; and one count of trafficking in hydrocodone, a first degree felony. His next court date is July 6. His sentencing date has not been set.

Also, this morning, Misty Croslin's trial was planned for Aug. 23 and her next pre-trial hearing for Aug. 10. Aug. 16 is the last day for Croslin to work out a plea agreement.

I would hope, with this filing by Tommy's attorney, that Tommy is being protected. This is just wrong, hoping that he will be left to the lawlessness of guards and inmates.

Not only does it sadden me, it makes me sick to see that murderers don't have more compassion for little children. Tommy is in this up to his eyeballs, and he had/has no compassion for little Haleigh
