judge just told em they will work at night. If his docket is full, he will meet with them starting at 5:30pm, bring a lunch. If we get behind we will work nights and weekends.

Seems to me HHJP is sensing someones lack of discipline, when it comes to this case.

HJBP must be hungry. First the analogy of eating pie, now "bring you a little lunch if you get hungry" lol

State asking the court to add a deadline for documents for the witness list. JB still saying they haven't decided if they will use a certain witness.

I don't think Baez has any intention of meeting some of these deadlines. I doubt the trial will begin in May, 2011. jmo

Uh, this is HHJP's court. Baez may not meet the deadlines, but that trial is starting May, 2011. It's Baez's own fault if he has nothing to bring to it.

Who thinks he'll try for a plea deal the day before the trial is supposed to start? I do!

I do believe that Judge Perry will stick to his schedule
come he!! or high water! JB looking pretty nervous rubbing
his hands together Casey style.

JBP: "Let me be frank with you. I doubt very seriously I will delay"

Also reminding attys they will be working 6 days a week come trial

Judge saying FL has rules to avoid trial by ambush. Once this trial starts, you are going to be working 6 days a week. Saturdays and each day will end about 5:00

HHJP "Once this trial starts you will be working 6 days a week, will start at 8:45 and end at 5:00pm!"

LDB asking that if there are items of tangible evidence being used at hearings will those be released to state.
She gives an example of doing a depo of someone Aug 16, says the witness had a document in her possession that they did not have. They had to suspend the depo because they weren't prepared.
JP discussing the discovery rules, says all lawyers like 'delay' so they can digest, says he doubts seriously he will delay. Once this trial starts they will be working six days a week.
Says if they don't share things there will be many late evenings getting prepared and won't have sympathy for late days.

Judge also reminded everyone there will be no ambush at trial
aka, Perry Mason moments. All discovery must be turned over before trial begins.

Judge threatening them that they better share stuff now or when the trial starts he will
envoke his 24 hour rule - there are 24 hours in a day and you (the lawyers) will decide how much work time they will have to use.

He's cracking down, and neither team looks very happy.

Depos of all LE must be completed by end of Sept.

JB saying he thinks he will comply with that date. Certain people out of town according to JB. Judge asking who in LE not available for depos?

Uh Oh, no more social time for Baez! No more going to the media when he wants to either, by the sound of it. He isn't going to like that!

I can see it now:

"Casey, you have to plea. Think about what's at stake here! It's my social life...I mean YOUR life...we're talking about! Please plea!..."

Just got to tune in.... Is HHJP a little short on patience today? lol Seems that way to me so far...

Baez saying initially we were all going to work together, but that didn't work out. (people in gallery giggling and rolling eyes)
