Next Up...One of the cadaver Doggie's handlers....

Sarg. Brewer

the dog's name is "bones" were you on lead or off lead?

off lead, off leash.

I was told a prior dog had checked the yard but I was not told the prior dog alerted. My dog was off leash. Did your dog alert in a specific area in the back yard.

did bones alert?

he gave his final indication: he sat down.

was it a weak alert?

he walked around before he hit the area(paraphrased)

It took the dog a while to alert on area, he didn't go straight to it, made sereral laps around before he sat and alerted

transcript: kind of weak, it took him a while.

correct.

was forgey there?

yes.

what happened the next day?

we did same search and bones(the dog) did not alert.

After Bones gave a weak alert what happened then - nothing - that was it. When you came back the next day with Bones - did he alert - no he did not.

Other than following up on tips did you do any other searches? (Didn't hear part answer) - did you conduct any vehicle searches.

did you conduct a vehicle search?

yes

what did you do?

walked around the vehicle.

was it in the bay?

no.

asking if she knew whos car this belonged to?

no.

I think the judge is going to say this comes in, that the jury can hear it and decide for themselves if it's compelling. IMO

are you normally told which car you are to focus in on?

no

is this to reduce handler error?

Okay. IMHO the defense's whole defense is: somebody might have made a mistake.

You might have made a mistake, yes? (that's my words)
