Clandestine graves found w cadaver graves, ground sensing radar , probing techniques. He is not expert in those areas but generally familiar (Vass says he is good at probing - laughs).

Most productive methodology is trying to understand cadaver dogs - try and understand odor signature coming from soil. Used 4 subjects different ages and sizes buried at different depts and put gas collection system below and above body to determine how gases exit. Sampling ports on tips with triple sorbant traps (activated carbon) and air analyzed. Triple sorbant trap modified from other areas of science. Air put into mass spectromenter . Studied from 2002 - 2006.

I think that's DCS's role, but perhaps AF is acting in auxiliary to her? Interesting to have the mitigation rep present for these hearings if not though - what could she gain for her portion? Otherwise, what a great learning experience is general

O/T What's interesting is the TBI has an ME who testified at the Christian Newsom trial. She was so intellegent and nice, and ironically has almost the same accent as Dr. Vass. I can't remember her nationality. Alot of Tennessean LE made the state proud during those trials.

okay husband says vass is a hungarian name. it's the 60th most common surname in hungary, so his family is either hungarian or from a border country of hungary. (in hungarian it would be pronounced vahsh)
