Dr. Spitz's famous words. The skull didn't walk there. It was manipulated. Someone put it on brown paper to take a pic. He is implying someone in the ME office tampered with evidence. Yet, this doctor doesn't remember he was the one that cracked and broke Caylee's skull.

Give me a break. (oh, I don't mean to my skull)

When he claimed that, I pictured him at a crime scene just picking stuff up willynilly-- suggesting no care was taken. Pfft.

uhm...ok, but remember whose mouth that came out of - it wasn't god's, though that's what he'd have you believe...

Actually, I don't believe a word he said because I know better. The question is, what will the jury believe, that's all that matters at this point and I'm worried.

Now I will say this in the side bar thread: I can't let it go that this dr said he met Caylee and that she was healthy and happy.

RSBM

I totally missed this!!!!!!!!

I didn't miss the part in the beginning where he brought up Zanny the Imaginanny though

I wonder how many people have called Dr. G and ask what she thinks about Dr.S calling her work shoddy?

So did I just witness Dr. Spitz perjuring himself on the stand regarding his interviews about this case? Is there such a thing as "perjury by omission"?

I think so, however, there are a lot of people who are probably going to give him a pass due to his advanced age. IMO, this man is a witness for hire. The only information he knew about this case was what Caseys team wanted him to know and what they wanted him to say. End of story. The only person I feel sorry for is Caylee and other victims who have to put up with people who will say anything as long as they are paid or get to be on tv.

Jeff Aston did a great job discrediting Dr. Spitz. The jury is not going to buy his lack of knowing the facts in this case, the fact he felt because high profile that the skull needed to be split, the fact that he didn't remember he cracked the skull, the fact that he had some major recollection on everything until he was questioned by the State and the fact that without one ounce of proof he claimed the State staged evidence.

He also didn't remember his public appearances....... selective memory and the jury knows that.

And he testified to things he didn't examine. For example he did not examine Caylee's hair matte but insists there was grave wax on it.

BBM

What came to my mind when he said this is that, for some reason, a high profile case deserves a more thorough autopsy?? It's ok to skip steps for a regular Joe but not if there is a lot of publicity?

At the end, Casey whispered something to Baez (after the judge mentioned working later on Saturdays)...wonder if she asked if they'd be done by then 'cause Baez nodded "yes".

So, the facts of the case the Dr. considered in making his determination were:

*There was a pool available*
*Something about a baby sitter*
*child was missing 30 days*

Um yeah...so clearly she drowned and then someone stole her skull, duct taped it and put it back. Not guilty. We can all go home now.

I am completely blown away that Dr. Spitz actually called Dr. G's work Shoddy~!

Yes! Dr. S can say Dr. G's work was shoddy, but it's not okay to hurt Dr. Spitz's feelings cuz he's old? Please, help me.:banghead:

I'm not familiar with Dr. S. Is he usually a defense's witness? If so, then he was chosen by Baez for a distinct reason.

Yes. He should be charged, but won't be. He needs to slink away and retire. But, he won't. He's for hire.

uhm...ok, but remember whose mouth that came out of - it wasn't god's, though that's what he'd have you believe...

Remember when Dr. G was being deposed by DT and asked "who put that mandible there? and her answer was "God"

Does anyone else think that a half century of work equates to poor form in contemporary practice? I'm guessing Cheney wanted him. jmo

He did not impress me by

-not wearing gloves
-not being able to send a sample to a lab if there is no one to do it for him
-expecting a skull to walk on a table to be photographed
-vaguely blaming colleagues for blatant fraud and misconduct

Actually, I don't believe a word he said because I know better. The question is, what will the jury believe, that's all that matters at this point and I'm worried.
Please don't be. It went well for Caylee.

Wow, that was car crash television! I was originally concerned that such an experienced and learned doctor had chosen to be involved with the defense case, but by the end I was just disgusted at the way he (by implication) impugned the honesty and professionalism of the CSI, coroner, etc who have worked this case. In fact, Dr Spitz seems convinced that he is the only true medical professional. Shameful.

I understand why the judge said he didn't want to hurt ICA because her lawyer is a lying, sneaky, ***** who has no problem disobeying court orders but, he should stick it to JB in a big way. Make him pay a huge fine. He will continue to do it unless he gets penalized.

IMO

Problem there is His Honor is not going to decide until after both sides rest. I do think that JB won't do this again, though. jmo

I think the photo above with Baez grinning and Casey punching him is because they think they have won this trial. Can being delusional rub off from person to person because I'm worried just witnessing this if it can.
