Was the other grief counselor lady also supposed to be getting deposed today by prosecution?

DT better get with the plan as HHJBP is out of patience.

Yes the grief counselor was to be deposed this afternoon. It surprised me that Judge Perry set up the second deposition this pm as well.

So funny you say that because, again, Dr. Spitz' son (also a Medical Examiner) was on Dr. Drew last night saying he (the son) concurs with Dr. G's finding of Homicide. Wonder how that goes over at their dinner table?

I saw that! I was surprised that he flatly stated that he agreed with Dr. G and that this case is a homicide.

Whoa, Dr. Spitz told Kathi Belich that JA did a good job on his cross!

I'm wondering if the "violation of the rule of sequestration" is something lame the DT cooked up to complain about as to where the jury ate dinner or something. IIRC, HHJP mentioned something yesterday about how he hoped they'd have a better time at dinner even (which could have been an innocent comment seeing as how they had to eat lunch with pix of decomposing pigs fresh in their minds and then after lunch continue to look at the same unappetizing and totally gratuitous exhibits). Perhaps HHJP had arranged for them to eat dinner at a nice restaurant or something and the DT, in their increasingly frenetic search for reasons for mistrial, jumped on it as some kind of imagined violation.

It occurs to me that there was a dust up by CM over whether the jurors had been speaking to each other when they asked to examine the heart sticker - it should have entered my mind earlier...

Did everyone watch this? the video of Kathi Belich and Bill Schaeffer is up and they both think that Dr. Spitz's testimony was completely devastated by JA today and that many jurors acted so as well:

Thank you for this....Wow Kathi said that WS said the prosecutor did a good job and she asked if it was humiliating for him and he thought about it and decided “no”.

No kidding?

Dr. Daniel Spitz. I was surprised to hear him too. At first I thought it was THE Dr. Spitz, witness for the defense. But I then realized it was his son. I was surprised by his comments as he agrees with Dr. G.

On that link Kathi says it was WS who said that JA did a good job

Oh and, lest we forget the good doc said we can also rule out a suicide. REALLY? Uh, uh, uh!

Well, Thank the Lord above that we know that Caylee didn't commit suicide.
I'm sure that Dr. G will sleep better tonight having that knowledge.

I thought I had read a tweet earlier that this was because there were thoughts that Dr. S had seen Dr. G's testimony on tv or pc....JA spoke to Dr. S this morning and cleared it all up....this was my understanding....I could be wrong...

Wow, that was car crash television! I was originally concerned that such an experienced and learned doctor had chosen to be involved with the defense case, but by the end I was just disgusted at the way he (by implication) impugned the honesty and professionalism of the CSI, coroner, etc who have worked this case. In fact, Dr Spitz seems convinced that he is the only true medical professional. Shameful.

hes just following in the steps of other well known medical specialists who gained a reputation by diligent, good and honest work in their early days, gained prominence and used that to enable themselves to be bought out in alter life either by money or the glare of the spotlight or both...the "famous" Dr Henry Lee comes to mind.

sad and pathetic.

See guys, we don't have to worry about Spitz's age. He's a professional and took it like a man. Good for him.

Watch and learn Baez...watch and learn.

Anyone remember when HHJP told the jurors things *might* wrap up (my words)?

I looked at the grief counselor website as soon as we heard about her and it did not seem very concrete to me. I have a feeling that one might also be easy to discredit. She sounded like a nice loving caring person but has not met ICA. One thing she uses with grief is refinding humor. hmmmmm

In all honesty... I know the State has a very good case and I was never worried about what they would present. Now that the defense has begun their case in chief... I have now realized why the State felt it not neccessary to include a lot of the "crazyness" of this case. The Dominic Casey's, the Leonard Padilla's, the Joy Wray's, etc...

The defense has literally made this case into a circus and have made a mockery out of Caylee's death. It is insulting and I am sure the jury is feeling the same way. The State laid out their case based on nothing but clear facts. The defense is laying out a case of impossibility based on a group of characters who will say whatever the defense wants them to say.

The defense is alone proving Casey's guilt based on the silliness they are presenting in front of that jury.

I am more than convinced that Casey is going to be convicted now. She may not get the death penalty... she will surely get LWOP.

Thank you!
This shows us that Dr.G. handled the remains of this little 2 yr. old child with respect!
She was not going to saw open that little skull when there was no reason to do so!
Spitz would have, for no reason. He just always saws skulls open.
How dare he call Dr. G.'s work "shoddy" when he was the one who actually damaged Caylee's skull??

I agree! If the brain is no longer present, I see no reason for having to open the skull. Especially since there's an opening for viewing inside without further invasion.

I think it's a terrible lack of respect for Dr. S to refer to Dr. G's examination as "shoddy." That's character assassination of a respected medical examiner.

Anyone remember when HHJP told the jurors things *might* wrap up (my words)?

I remember him telling a couple of the jurors during selection that they would not be here in July. I seem to remember an estimate of around June 27 but can’t find it at a link.

With all due respect i believe that skull was manufactured for teaching purposes. Still made me giggle when I read that though!!

They sell fake and real skulls I found a place online in Sacramento that sells everything from full skeletons to infant skulls ( fake ones ).. Point being he could have used a fake infant skull but they used an adult skull. to clever by half or for obvious reasons.. that's what they had on hand.... who knows... I felt sorry for the man ( Dr.S) he couldn't figure out how to get the cap back on the skull he used. If you watch he has to hold it on while using it to demo his anti gravity hair theory because it does fit together either way around. What blew me away was when he said his knowledge came from JB telling him it was so. I think it was intimated that that would be unethical of JB to tell him what to say or conclude. To what level i have no idea...suborning perjury?
