He is a forensic anthropologist at the Department of Defense, Armed Forces, Medical examiner's office for 23 years. Here as an unpaid consultant.

BA and MA and PhD from University of Tennessee in 1985.

Co-founder of Body Farm. Dr. Vass was his chief mentor professor at UT. Dr. Vass recruited him into the project to actually build the facility and start the research. He was the senior author on the first publications.

He's had extensive experience with human decomp in his experience with the M.E.'s offices he has worked at and his Armed Services.

Taphonomy is the study of the breakdown of the organism after death and he has extensive research in that are. 2 publications on this from the Body Farm and a chapter in Smitz and Fischer book, also numerous papers on a yearly basis.

Body Farm was the starting of forensic entomology in U.S.

Helped found the American Board of Forensic Entomology.

Has been a witness in Court around 100 times.

Witness tendered as expert in taphonomy, entomology and forensic anthropology.

He has not been qualified as an expert in the specific field of entomology.

JA has no objection to taphonomy and forensic anthropology - not entomology.

JB - he has helped establish the American Board of Entomology.

Believe he said he was recruited by Dr. Bass (real similar names). Dr. Bass was the one who set the body farm up.

Dr. Bill Bass set up the body farm - he said Dr. Bass not Dr. Vass.

Was so over the moon with JA yesterday I didn't notice we were starting at 8:30 (5:30) and just now catching up. So this guy is a colleague of Dr. Vass or Dr. Haskell or both? I guess if JA is objecting to him being qualified as an expert in entomology it is Dr. Haskell JB is going after.

JB is scared of Dr Vass's testimony. He is trying real hard to discredit him.. JA is not happy with this witness credentials concerning entomology.

I think this guy is going after Haskell, not Vass. Just a guess.

I'm willing to listen to him.

Maybe it was the way he started. It just really rubbed me the wrong way. to start out saying "I'm an unpaid consultant" just said to me that he was going to go against what Dr. Vass/Dr. Bass said. What I want to know is why he left the body farm. something is just not right about this guy, IMO.
