I really don't think JB cares if he has sanctions, contempt or even fines and a spell in jail...all the more attention and fodder for book or TV later, in his mind...I have always though a mistrial was his best chance of not losing this case and think he is trying for one...

If JB time is one minute ahead of JA time why is he always two years behind him? :waitasec: That's a theory for Einstein to work out.

JB would have plenty of time if he would just shorten the extremely long, boring, ultimately non-evidentiary, and time-wasting examination of his witnesses. Hours and hours would open up to him immediately!

Oh, it's all part of his strategy, IMO. Bore the jury to death via long-winded, impossibly convoluted testimony, then try to blame the State for the length of the trial. He has tried to play the jury from the beginning -- that's what the Flipchart (may it burn in Hell for all eternity!) is all about -- it's the "Look, I'm your friend, I'm here to try and make all of this less of an ordeal for you, unlike the evil Gubmint."

Of course, it is an unmitigated disaster, because JB's ego is so all-consuming that he doesn't realize he is the object of the jury's ire. Of course they realize that it is he who is responsible for the length of the trial. I suspect that they can well see what he's up to.

:cow:

Probably because they want to keep on practicing law. :great: I doubt Baez is soliciting their advice. If he were, he wouldn't have headed down this road.

I don't put it past CM to try this kind of shennanigan (sp) but JB is really pushing the envelope. Could it really be that CM has had no idea up until now how little work JB did on this case until he absolutely had to?
I don't know which it is, but in the end it won't matter.

But, JA did have an obligation to let His Honor know that he was going to request a delay on the first witness. And, that he was going to have a problem with Dr. Eikenbloom (sp). Not as egregious as the DT, but still against what His Honor had asked them to do. jmo

JB sent a witness to JA's office to be deposed. JA had a half page summary from this witness....no details....he COULD'T take a deposition on no information!!

I cannot trust HHJP. He insists on sliming JA with JB's dirty tricks. I'm done with giving the judge understanding on it. Either deal with JB or don't. But, leave JA out of it.

What happened to the witness they were supposed to depo Saturday?

He was deposed from 1:30 - 3:30 but Ashton started court this morning asking for more time to prepare cross. Apparently, witness only provided a half page summary of his testimony and Ashton wants to reread transcript from direct testimony.....

Aw heck...just gotta watch replay video! LOL!

But witness WILL be back!

Eikenbloom OUT though....:woohoo:

The sidebar ends at about 4 minutes 50 seconds.

Can anyone tell me what JA has done besides the snide comments he made the other day?

Jeff gets the better of Baez because he uses the law. As far as I know Jeff has not played games but he gets inside Baez's head and Baez can't take it.

This hearing was the day after Caylee's body was found but obviously not yet confirmed (when Baez and Co. were trying to get access to the site and they child's body) listen to Jeff @ .31secs - in my eyes he's a hero and he has ethics Baez will ever have nor understand. Jeff Ashton is a true advocate for victims who have no voice.

I gotta tell you....I am starting to think maybe Baez truly does NOT know the rules of court or standard law/trial practices.

He attempted this same thing in the Nilton Diaz case and let's not forget it took him EIGHT TRIES to pass the Bar!!!

He has rarely ever had to argue ANY cases...if you pull up his previous cases, the overwhelming majority of them end quickly in plea agreements
JB is clueless,IMO,BUT
He has many other experienced attorneys on the case. HHJP actually counted them for him in court one day.
And remember LDB complained to the Court in the past that Cheney Mason was claiming he did not have to abide by the Courts order to have witnesses listed by a certain date.

I would like to know, for my own sake, what words are we prohibited from using here?

Idiot? imbecile? incompetent? stupid? sleazy? slimball? epic fail? weasel? half-wit? moron? dolt? dullard? seamy? sordid? discredited?

I mean, besides the obvious curse words, which I know we can't use. I'm just asking.
