George on e stand is so painful to watch. I broke down and cried with him. His testimony requires him to relieve the nightmare of the last three years of his life. The most telling testimony from George today, IMO, occurred during the beginning of the direct exam by JB. In response to a question George said (paraphrasing, not exact words) At that time I did not believe my daughter was capable of murdering my granddaughter. Seems to me his doubts about ICA's involvement in Caylee's death are gone, and that he has accepted that she was capable, and did murder his granddaughter. Just an inference, and not said, but loudly heard throughout the lines. To me, this pretty much is the essence of what the jury should get from George's testimony this am. IMO, of course.

JB has managed to turn this testimony to the prosecution's advantage, JMO.
EXACTLY! And I cried too. Not only is Casey vicious and heartless, but JB too. He seems to get some kind of glee in pushing George to the limit. It is backfiring big time. The jury can see that GA is in obvious pain just thinking about the horrors of that time.

GA didnt have any tears. There was not wetness on his face. I thought it looked like Casey learned from him. Except he held his breath to make his face red.

When people cry the redness starts in small location and slowly spreads ,he just turned red from not breathing.

On my HD monitor the tears were plain as day. Wet tears, on his face, in his eyes, coming out of his eyes.

OMG, I so disagree. I saw a truly broken man barely making it thru each new day.........unbearable pain....

I am so with you on this one Bon - this man is in so much pain it is terrible to watch.
I also think and hope it will be cleansing for him in the end.

I don't know wtf is going on anymore.

I have been waiting for the defense to start their case... I hear on CNN they are about to rap it up... OMG They haven't even started or proved anything. It's like a big waste of money whatever the defense is doing. Does anyone know when Jose will prove all those opening statements?

Imo, Ashton knew Baez would make this blunder in one of his many attempts to incriminate GA and was all set with case law to support letting the note in once Baez opened the door. Ashton is always thinking ahead, unlike Baez and his client.

JB kills me with his lack of law knowledge....

btw, JA doesn't walk through the door....he revs up the engine of the mack truck & races through that door.....thanks Jose

Please tell me wtf judge perry is doing???!! WHY did he say he's guilt ridden over molestation of his daughter??!!!!

Here's my take on what HHJP was saying (my paraphrasing):

Mr. Baez, do you plan on inferring in your closing argument that Mr. Anthony tried to commit suicide over his guilt of molesting his daughter, yada yada yada.....

Baez: yes sir, among other things

HHJP: Well then, sir, you have just created the rare exception to making the state of mind issue come into play and therefore this suicide letter is not hearsay. It goes to the state of mind and contradicts what you intend to infer by asking about the suicide attempt.

IOW - he is not going to let Baez use the fact that George tried to commit suicide in order to be able to use it in his closing argument just to make inferences when there is clear evidence in George's own writing that the reasons were nothing of the sort.

IMO and how I took what the judge was saying. I do not for one second think he was giving tips to JB. I think he was letting JB he knew what JB was trying to sneak in and wasn't going to let it go.

How many times has Baez been reprimanded for using "A Sword and a Shield??

Definition of Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome.

JB said "Mr Ashton didn't object to me bringing it up" Proves he has deliberately been getting his comments in. At times DEPENDING on JA to object so that JA can't use it but getting his comments in anyway.

"Once the bell had been rang..."

That's the funny part! JB thought he was sneaking in a secret weapon and was pleased hehehehehee that JA was too slow to object to his big bomb! Only the bomb was chucked right back into JB's hands and he's standing there like Wile E Coyote with a comical look of "uh-oh" as it explodes on him instead.

Jeff Ashton is bringing tears to my eyes by using the Evidence Code (I have that book) to explain why the suicide note may be entered into evidence and to show how upset GA is. And look at ICA - I have never, ever seen such a selfish person in my life and I hope I never do again.

Salem
Totally agree.

JB was upset that the SAO didn't object to him "opening the door". LOL!

I can only shake my head - a la KC

This is my favorite part of the day by far-how many times did Baez say, "But the prosecution did not object!"

JA handled that pretty well.

Why did he stick with her? For her benefit? NO, for His own benefit.
He's a glory seeker not an officer of the court.

I so hope when this trial is over JP sanctions him and holds him in contempt of court...he truly deserves it........

I believe I would die if I ever had to watch my husband go through something like this.

What Ashton read from George Anthony's suicide note moments ago:

"She was so close to home. Why was she there? Why is she gone? Why? For months you and I especially you, always questioned; 'why?'. I want this to go away for Casey. What happened? Why could she not come to us? Especially you? Why not Lee? Who is involved with this stuff for Caylee?"
