In the wake of Helene there was that clip of an EV bursting into flames in a garage because the battery was submerged in flood water. If it's a serious risk, will any EVs whose batteries have been similarly submerged have to be written off for safety reasons?
I am pretty sure that the answer is, yes. The battery would be corroded if salt water was present. Those ion battery fires are crazy. It would also include electric bikes, and golf carts.

Storm surge poses a fire hazard for vehicles with lithium-ion batteries, with dozens of blazes erupting after Helene.
