Don't know if this has been covered, but to me, the camera was thrown in the wash as a final "f.u." because she had so much rage that after she killed Travis, she couldn't kill him anymore, and didn't really feel like it was "all over" so she stomped around in a rage and threw the camera in there almost as an afterthought....to ruin not only the pictures, but also the camera that he loved. If you've ever been mad at a boyfriend, as I have, it's not too much of a reach. At the time, you are so infuriated that you want to destroy his stuff....This is why women creep into their old boyfriends closets and cut up their clothes, etc. And no, I have never done that! But I know women who have.

Sorry, I still don't know to post correctly. I found the link to my previous question below. Starting at 24:15 she starts to mouth something - is she praying?

She just mouthed something to herself and she's sitting at the defense table by herself. Any lip readers out there - did you catch that????!!!!! They are all standing with the judge. (1:41 est)

Personally, since she was just looking at the pages in front of her, I think she's trying to memorize the answers Nurmi gave her to say to the questions that will be allowed.
 
Katie, On the short break while repairing the audio, did it look like the defense was coaching Jodi with answer?
 
Did anyone catch that when asked about the law of chastity in the Book of Mormon, JA used the words "whoredom" and "unclean" words used in the email sent to the girl Travis was dating?

I can't believe she admitted to reading the Book of Mormon TWICE! ...that totally discredits her statement when on cross that she was unaware of the law of chastity...

there is always some truth to every lie. I believe she did drop the camera .... but on purpose because he probably bought it to take to Cancun, she was outraged by that fact. So some of it is more likely the truth, but rearranged for her benefit.

I so agree with you about the camera and the way she answers with partial truths. It is like she has her own little sick coded phrases and words that help her remember where in her script she needs to pick up a lie and run with it. She has done this in the interviews with Det. Flores, on the stand in testimony.

She had so many inconsistancies today, too many to mention but one that stands out is that she testified earlier she found the gun while cleaning in August of 2007, now she testified it was Oct. or Nov.

How can she remember emotions in these "fogs" but not actions... I call BS and I feel that the jurors questions, at least most of them, were calling BS.

She was right about one thing, she can't even keep track of her own lies.

I didn't get in today, sorry. I hung out til about 3pm in case some spots opened up.

It was a good day for people watching. Also met some nice people in the hall.

Katie was inside so she'll have some great notes for us later. :)

Sorry I don't have any inside the courtroom news from today.
 
Katie, does it seem as if the jury thinks the gunshot came first? Didn't they get to hear the ME say it was last?
 
FYI, the ME didn't testify the gunshot came "last," he said it had to come after things like the defensive wounds because of the affect it would have on TA's brain (incapacitation) and make him unable to defend himself. It couldn't have come first, is the point. It could have come near last; it didn't have to come absolutely last in the sequence.

The point was the gunshot wasn't first, according to the ME.
 
Court room observers, do you know if the jury was instructed that she and her attorneys had time to review their questions? I don't understand why she was allowed to review them, I can see the defense attorneys and the prosecutor. If they were not told they she had the time to prepare, add that to the list of injustices that have taken place in this court room...

Sorry you didn't make it in today! What a bummer! Were you able to watch it while you waited? It was a huge day! My nervousness is GONE! I don't care what some of the TH's are saying,... These ?'s scream that they don't believe her!

thank you for trying! did you get any sense from the ppl coming and going?? it seemed there was a lot of snickering and head shaking in the gallery today

I totally agree, and it is just my guess that they were not told. Why would she have access to these, so that she and her attorney can have the pat and rehearsed answers we got today. I just dont understand it, it doesn't seem right.

My question is this. You mentioned that the court room sort of wakes up when Martinez pops in and is able to cross her about a particular piece of evidence. Does ALL of the Jury do the same or is there any particular person who seems just as bored no matter who is speaking?

I know I literally :aktion1: during Nurmi's droning no matter how hard I try but it's like the coffee kicking in when Martinez speaks.

This was my question a few pages back. Just thought I would bump it as it might have been skipped with the discussions going on.

I wonder about this now more then ever after today. I guess it's just my mind trying to figure out who asked what. Sometimes I felt like the real detailed stuff was from our stenographer but you never know. Some people don't need to take notes to ask really important questions. Anyway.... My question is BBM.
