What did the camera operators do in that October hearing that went against her orders?
In September, ISP relayed to media that they had heard someone showed up to a Delphi murders court hearing wearing something akin to “Google Glasses” to record the hearing.

Stewart, an independent reporter and content creator, has attended several Delphi court hearings. She plans to go to the trial proper beginning October 14th, and also raised concerns about transparency in the court proceedings.
INTERVIEW: The Delphi "Electronic Eyeglasses" Situation, Court Transparency Concerns Raised

This is totally just my opinion but after this defense team was put on the case it always appeared to me that they enjoyed the limelight.
Baldwin especially. Imo.
I wonder if Judge Gull thinks the same.
Banning cameras from the courtroom helps to keep everyone focused on the facts at hand and not the sensationalism and theatrics that this defense team has participated in in the past. Imo.

The public wont have access to any transcript or audio recording of the trial. This is supposed to be a public trial. Even the taxpayers who are footing the inflated bill won't be allowed to bear witness to the trial that they are paying for.

I absolutely disagree that judges should be given full power to hold secret trials behind closed doors. Sunlight is the best disinfectant and this case has been allowed to fester in secrecy for far too long. Time for the some accountability and transparency.

Isabel Allende: 'What I fear most is power with impunity. I fear abuse of power, and the power to abuse.'

can you provide link stating that trials are to be public? Again, I personally feel this should be streamed, but I am not a stranger to trials that are not, based on rulings by the judges involved. It actually happens relatively frequently IMO

Her supposed complaint regarding the camera operators was at the October 19 cancelled-hearing where she kicked off the defense team. It had nothing to do with google glasses.

What a rationale way of thinking. :). That D does love a good moment in the spotlight.

pretty sure the same article I linked covers that instance as well. Anywho, we apparently won't be coming to any agreement about our differing opinions on this - again welcome to WS

It's not a secret trial.

Authorities will restrict access to the Carroll County courthouse during the anticipated four-week-long trial . . .
[snip]
”It’s a big change for our town,” said Milburn. ”We’ve never had anything this large that I’m aware of. I have been resident here my entire life. I don’t remember anything impacting us for as long as this trial is going to impact us.”
https://fox59.com/news/delphi-prepares-for-double-murder-trial/

They will block off a courthouse entrance and side street, and there will only be two-hour parking on the street.
Murder trial for man charged with killing 2 girls in Delphi, Indiana, begins next week
this link also mentions that JG's courtroom will operate 6 days a week through the duration of the trial

Maybe JG isn’t allowing cameras because she doesn’t trust witnesses to not watch the trial before they are called to testify themselves. Watching other witnesses I mean. If so, makes perfect sense.

As always, JMO.

I feel the same about the state using inmate companions to be honest - using other inmates is a desperate move on either side imo.
I get it, I think they used to be called trustees back in the old days. These prisoners who had achieved some level or trust during their incarceration, usually based on good behavior and being model prisoners.

I am unsure how I feel about "prison companions" but feel like it is a situation that could be problematic depending on their freedoms and what they were tasked with.

One thing for sure about the DT's most recent filings. They tell me they are still determined to try to argue SODDI and they plan to offer those inmates testimony to try to meet the bar on allowing that argument. Judge Gull's order about SODDI did leave them wiggle room to proffer evidence at trial and I guess they intend to do it. This is their most recent attempt to throw everything they can at the wall and hope something, anything sticks in that regard.

Delphi Defense filed motions to transport James Haas, Kegan Kline, James Chadwell and Ricci Davis Jr. so they can testify for the defense.

Haas told me and others he shared a cell with Ron Logan after the murders and that Logan called out one of the victim’s names while performing a sex act.

Kegan Kline told me he created the catfish account Anthony Shots, and that he believed ISP wanted him to say a relative killed the girls.

Chadwell pleaded guilty 3 years ago to child molesting and attempted murder for an attack on a neighbor child he lured into his home by asking if she wanted to see his dogs. He resembles first sketch.

Don’t know much about him. I’m reading some stuff now. I don’t know his connection to the case or players.
I was convinced Chadwell was BG a couple of years ago. And I thought he might be the perp for other unsolved crimes too. He was a strong candidate!

It was humbling to be wrong. And it's distressing to know there is a choice of horrible criminals in the area to suspect.

But, I think they got the right guy with RA. I concede LE knows more than I do from my armchair. :)

I agree. And if RA is innocent, they should be doing exactly what they are doing.

As always, JMO.

The defense has reached a new low., but I don’t see how this amounts to anything.

From the State’s Motion in Limine dated April 29, 2024

“…7. Any attempt to introduce evidence of 3rd party motive that is not relevant and/or the
probative value is outweighed by unfair prejudice, confusion of the issues or has the
potential to mislead the jury in violation of Rule 401. Lashbrook v. State, 762 N.E.2d
756 (Ind. 2002); Pelley v. State, 901 N.E.2d 494 (2009). Before any such evidence
may be permitted the Defense must show some connection between the 3rd party and
the crime. Holmes v. South Carolina, 547 U.S. 319 (2006). Further it must be a
direct connection based on admissible evidence and not founded in hearsay,
speculation, rumors, conjecture or theory. Mcintyre v. State, 717 N.E.2d 114 (1999);
McGaha v. State, 926 N.E.2d 1050 (Ind. Ct. App. 2010); Tibbs v. State, 59 N.E.3d
1005 (Ind. Ct. App. 2016). The State requests such Order in Limine to include but not
be limited to the following:
a. Odinism
b. Cult or ritualistic killing
c. Brad Holder
d. Patrick Westfall
e. Johnny Messer
f. Elvis Fields
g. Ned Smith
h. Rod Abrahms
i. Kegan Kline
j. Jerry Kline
k. Ron Logan…”

On September 4th the Judge ruled none of these things or people can be brought up.
They can try to offer proof of their relevance at trial to introduce them only.
I’m sure the defense is hoping the prosecution will file something against this so the defense can demand a hearing now and delay the trial.
This ain’t going nowhere in my opinion. JG isn’t putting up with this cr#p anymore.
The defense can just file it away with all the other grievances they want to appeal.
My distain for this defense team grows deeper.

I thought it was KAK because he fits the profile (liked young girls) and made contact with LG, iirc. I am really curious to see what all the evidence is against RA, need more than just an unspent round. jmo
