I'm going to bring this over from the last thread.
I hear what you're saying about using this case a social commentary and I appreciate that conversation; I'm also looking at what you're saying about Travis and CMJA.
IMO the narrative we were force fed was/is largely still through CMJA and her defense team which clearly is not credible and very tainted if not completely tainted. Travis was honest with her, he made it very apparent that she was NOT "The one" and their relationship was purely sexual. They were both free to go elsewhere. No problem there but she stalked him and maintained that she didn't go elsewhere as she used her ex boyfriends to plot his murder all while maintaining she hadn't engaged in other types of sex, etc. etc. It had to be pulled out by Juan. She was dictating an image of herself which was false and dictating an image of Travis which was false.
She tried to play the innocent virginal victim of Travis until she was backed into a corner forced to admit she wasn't really raped and pretty much enjoyed it all. I think if she had not made the sex stuff into a big deal to begin with and acted like the grown woman that she is instead of a cowardly murderess, there wouldn't be so much extra outrage at her strategic ploy to use sex.
And I think there's a social commentary somewhere in there. Women should not be discriminated against for sexual prowess. But we cannot use our feminine sexual ways to flip on men when we decide we're done with them and want to send them to jail or ruin their lives and when we want to play victim (unless we ARE a victim!).
