Aniah got INTERNATIONAL media exposure pretty early on too, by day 2 or 3 of her being missing, if I recall correctly.
 
I just wish they would show more video shots, because sometimes that can really help the public come up with other clues. An example could be - in the background of a clip, they could see someone they know who has been missing as well, or is acting strange or has scratch marks, etc. or just clues the public in to many more ideas as to what could have happened. That being said, do you think it’s because they know maybe?

I think she was grabbed after she left the minimart. It seems if it happened at the gas pumps or parking area, they'd have video of the abduction.

So maybe she was followed home? And grabbed when she got out of her car?

Maybe someone was waiting for her to get home. People that live in apartments tend to park in the same spot. It may not have been totally random.

Was Aniah seen driving? Looking in distress? Or car swerving? Do we have this video
 
OMG! I finally thought up a theory that actually would fit together. What if Aniah did actually meet up with this Eric guy, she had to pick him up somewhere, and then together they were going back to his place but maybe they take that route someone else mentioned that's like back roads or something, a fight ensues enroute there and Aniah loses control of the vehicle which causes her to side sweep something(maybe a tree) and as the fight gets worse she's harmed in the car. This would make sense why she was harmed in the car and the think foul play is involved. It would also explain how the car got to where it did. He could have dipsosed of the body along the way and left the car then in Montgomery, then took an Uber somewhere or even lives in walking distance of the Park Place Apartments. For all we know the person could have dumped the car and walked to a local business and called an Uber.
 
A car jacking would make sense because of the fact that ‘her car was seen shortly after’ traveling toward Montgomery (south college, i85). What I don’t understand is the snapchats, consider she was planning on meeting up with him, he could have been a student at Auburn at Montgomery. The time frame would match, it’s about 30 minutes from auburn. Then her phone actually died once they met up.

I agree. I assume there would be more evidence of car jacking. Swerving car, etc. plus video footage.

I would think if it went down like that he would have to think walked home. I would think the person would have blood on them, torn clothing ect.. I guess it could be a case like Tara grinstead where a friend what's called after the fact to help, but I doubt it.
 
In regard to Auburn University & the Jumbotron & the game Saturday. Has anyone found out if they were even asked to put up her flyer on the Jumbotron? Auburn University is so good with community type things & is a great place with good ppl there. That’s not saying someone somewhere consciously made the decision not to put it up. I’m just saying - I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt until I find out for sure what happened. Those spots are also paid for way in advance. It could have been a situation where they could not move anything around to accommodate it plus let everyone else (who have paid probably thousands of dollars) still have their spot with their time. Also was anyone there before they started pregame? Could have been rolling on it then. Students get in there 3-4 hours before game time. Just a thought
 
Late to post here but regarding the chips....I wouldn't get hung up on the debit charge. The price of the bag of chips most likely varies from store to store. Convienence stores don't charge for plastic bags in AL, why would she want one for a bag of chips she is eating right away? Usually it's only mom and pop stores and small restaurants around here that add on a Fee for using a card.

Yes, I am aware. My question was regarding the states, as I travel quite a bit and have not had to purchase bags before in Alabama.

I was listening to the Nancy Grace podcast this morning, and noticed that Aniah’s mom says she is the one who identified that Aniah was at the Chevron, and then asked police to check there. She said the family wasn’t able to get into Aniah’s Venmo account, but were able to get into her email, and saw that she had an email confirmation for a Venmo charge at the gas station. It’s been many years since I lived in Auburn - does the Chevron accept Venmo payment now? I’ve been thinking all along that this was a debit card, so I was surprised by that.

From a quick Google search, it appears there are quite a few businesses that take Venmo, including some gas stations. It might vary from store to store, however.
 
To those of you who have experience sleuthing cases:
Why would they withhold the perpetrator's descriptions and more information from the community?
It's been 12 days... everyone I know is on high alert because "this sort of thing just doesn't happen here" regularly. Our crime rate is pretty low here in Auburn compared to the national average.

This map is awesome, thank you! I was re-reading some of the articles and statements from LE, and it sparked a thought I wasn't sure if it was previously discussed here. Recently I traveled from Union Springs, AL to Auburn, AL. My route had me follow US Route 29, which goes through the Tuskegee National Forest. It had thinking that since the vehicle's plate was pinged in the area of South College and I-85 that it had to have traveled that route (I-85 S to Montgomery), but what it if was pinged passing over the overpass at Exit 51? One could travel to Montgomery via US Route 29 to US Route 80. I have driven these roadways myself, and in MOO, this route would be longer and definitely less populated than the Interstate.
