Her mother said after the call/text from the Carlee saying she was there ( that they later stated was a hoax)they drove down there and knocked on doors etc, and the clerk said nobody was registered under her name
Well, the clerk really cleared that up didn't she? Doesn't mean she wasn't there, just she was not registered under her name.

I know! I asked my husband if he heard of the RRI; and he said NO. He has never seen one in that area or heard of them, and he stays right there along I-459 because it is centrally located to his clients.

JMO.
Former WKRG reporter JB Biunno knew it right off, fwiw - called it "the Huntsville Red Roof Inn"; which kinda made it sound like it was steps from where Carlee's car was abandoned. (I grant it's possible my interpretation is sweeping and less than accurate, lol; it's just a place name, after all.)

Omg, when I read this I just had the thought that she may have been expecting the 911 operator to tell her to get out and get the kid, and she had been planning to “get abducted” while on the phone with 911! I wonder if she was surprised when the 911 operator ended the call. There was no one to hear her fake scream so she had to call her brother’s girlfriend so someone could witness it. I’m just trying to make sense of the thought processes here. Why do all of this? Why?
I was surprised the 911 operator didn't tell her to please stay on the line.

I would not be surprised if the parents talk her into entering a mental hospital. It would help the parents get through the public scrutiny right now.

A psychiatric admission isn't supposed to be respite. There's a lack of beds because people treat it like that, but they really shouldn't. There are people boarding in the ER for days or weeks with mental illnesses in order for a psych bed to become available. If she's suicidal, by all means, but even then, it would be just for containment and only for a couple of days at most. If they want to pay cash, they could send her to a swanky residential place that will take anyone's money, but unless there's an actual diagnosable condition that can be treated, she should not get a psych hospital bed to escape what she's done, IMO.

Wow, I've traveled on interstate all my life and there are numerous RRI a long the way. First one I ever stayed in was in Jacksonville, FL. Had a problem with my car and had to stay at the closest lodging I could find.

No, I only reserve my room online, not prepay if that's what you are asking. Usually I'm by myself, but when we went to San Francisco with sister and niece, they insisted on seeing my sisters CC card before checking in. I should also add, it has been before Covid that I traveled, but they also asked for a car license plate unless I said I was picked up by taxi. And most of my stays are in smaller towns not major cities.
Yikes. Car license plates? We usually are in rental cars or Uber. We have never been asked for license plates. I don't think?? Our rooms are usually paid in full before we even arrive. I think that the policy says that you have 48 hours to cancel and get a refund. We travel quite a bit, oftentimes with my husband's job.

He is in Birmingham right now and I'm sure doesn't have a clue about Carlee or the aftermath. In fact, I know a lot of people there; and they are not familiar with her case, which I find kind of strange.

My bet would be on the swanky residential place. JMO

Authorities in Hoover, Alabama, released the full 911 call Carlee Russell made before disappearing as well as revealing a series of internet searches they believe could be connected to her disappearance. Police revealed data from Russell’s cell phone and work computer found a number of searches conducted on the day she disappeared. Former FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer weighs in on "Elizabeth Vargas Reports."

Ok I'm caught up. I was on a flight, itching to know.

Holy Cow !!! No words.
How the heck did she get an MA in psychology ? The stupidity is mind boggling.
Really, a toddler alien child who can run faster than Usain Bolt ??
The google searches?

I feel so bad for her parents. And Carlee comes from a good home, lovely home....lots of support and future opportunity.
wth?

I gave her the benefit of the doubt.
Never believed the child story nor the abduction.

But I was leaning to a sudden onset of something organic or psychiatric.....like what happened to my friend those years ago.

I'm so angry......
All the resources.
And deceiving her parents.
Anyone can get a degree with enough time and studying. It has never made a person smart. Only dedicated.

Didn't say she "should" get a psych hospital bed. Said that the parents may try to have her committed. I wouldn't doubt if she has mentioned suicide with all the publicity.

He flies around the country and mostly stays at Hilton properties. He is so focused on his job that he really doesn't look around at any of the other hotels in the area. He has everything reserved before he leaves home. We also have lived all over the country (in Jacksonville for a while, too).

I vaguely have heard of RRI (and very vaguely). Sort of like the posters who imagined seeing someone or something on the side of the road with Carlee's car. Seriously, I would have no idea where a RRI is if I'm being honest.

During my early days traveling for work, saw many of them off the interstates. Later, my company wouldn't even allow employees to stay in one unless it was the only one to stay in. Hilton was my company's usual, had corporate contract with them.

It shows a potential employer that a person can have a long-term goal and has the ability to take the necessary steps to achieve it.

Also, I think that she has an undergraduate degree (not a graduate degree).

Just wow. That press conference was a doozy. Well, I’d say that there needs to be a discussion. Carlee needs to come clean and spare herself and her family more humiliation. Take the lumps and not put folks through more. MOO.

Well IMO education does instill some knowledge & wisdom.
I remember one of my professors asking us what getting a degree tells others about you. The answer was that it tells others you can persevere. That's a comment I shared with my children.
