I just woke up from a nap. All I can say is ohhmmmyyygggoooddd she faked the whole damn thing! What a fraudster. Let justice do its thing and ring.

I’m not sure what justice looks like in this situation?
So many people have been frauded, and who will not get the resources they need because there are none left to give? The impact of such stunts is tough to measure.
She needs help, she is old enough and on social media enough to realize her life will never be the same. Either she will grown up very fast- take responsibility… or hide, or worse.
I have to keep reminding myself she is 25, not 14!

It seems like generating a degree of notoriety might have been part of the plan given the interest in Amber Alerts.
The biggest question here IMO is..

Why a bathrobe???
My best guess -- they're nice robes. She knew she wasn't coming back. Couldn't resist taking one as a parting gift to herself.

Perhaps some stiff consequences are in order and maybe they'll drop her down a few pegs. The world isn't hers to exploit.

What stood out to me about this call is the complete lack of urgency in her voice.
If I saw a small child on the side of a busy highway at night, I'd be terrified for that child and the tone of my voice would 100% reflect that.

The way she's talking, she sounds like she could be talking about doing laundry or what's on her grocery list.
Zero urgency at all, even without knowing what her "baseline" speaking voice sounds like.

And strange that she didn't get out of her car, after seeing a toddler walking alongside a 6 lane interstate. The first thing I'd do after pulling over would be to go to the child and bring them into my car. I think most people would do that, as opposed to just 'watching' them from afar. JMO

I've had the bathrobe on my mind, but thought that she wouldn't want to wear the same work uniform for days, especially if she was in a hotel room or someone's house. So, maybe the bathrobe to cover up? Heck, who knows, maybe it's a really, really nice robe and she figured "why not?". What makes sense to her sure doesn't make sense to most of us, that's for sure.

And why TP? Her parents have a lovely home and good jobs, and Carlee had a job. No need to steal a basic toiletry item. Was she planning on camping out for the weekend in a bathrobe in the woods? I can't get my head around that item.

This is from the transcript of the presser. In the interview with the police, she was in direct conflict with what happened on the phone with her brother’s girlfriend. The first account we heard was that she asked “Are you ok?” Then no response was heard and then there’s a scream.

Carlee tells LE that a man came out of the woods and said he was going to check on the baby and then I guess she screamed when he grabbed her. If she’s on the phone relaying everything, don’t you think she’d say “omg this dude is walking up to me” or something like that? Or the girlfriend would have heard the guy speak to Carlee?

Some jail time, some restitution, much community service. Please can the judge take away her internet too? For her own good.

Good thing she doesn’t live in Egypt:
An Egyptian graduate student and human rights advocate accused of spreading “fake news” was sentenced to three years in prison in Egypt on Tuesday, a harsh conclusion to a case that had inspired a mass outpouring of support in Italy, where he studied, and in Egypt.

Yeah. I heard that, too. Plus, I thought about a toddler's soft feet and the hot roadside, possibly full of glass and debris. Sorry, but I found that hard to believe. I couldn't walk 10 feet on the side of a road much less 600 yards. Plus, if I saw a toddler, I personally would have swiftly pulled over and gotten out of my vehicle to swoop up the child. That's me, though. Get the child first. Then, make the call second.

I would sound excitable and out of breath. The operator would be saying to me, "Calm down, M'am. I can't understand you. Slow down. Now, what are you saying? Quit screaming. Talk in a normal tone."

JMO.

Have you used the TP at a spa vs the one at a Red Roof Inn?
I mean its probably the one smart thing she did!

OMG!!!

Like….she’s an IDIOT for not having deleted these earlier!!!!!

Why didn't she say "Hey everyone I need a break, I'm going to go for a weekend SPA retreat, please no calls or texts, I need a break."
I mean everyone understands that right? Is her bf so controlling she had to come up with an elaborate hoax, if so she needs some serious help getting away from him.
If you dating anyone who won't allow you to go on a two day vacation alone to relax is way too controlling.
