I just hope she has learned a very valuable lesson. But it certainly came at some cost ."To those who have been there for me, your kindness and support have meant the world to me," she continued. "Whether it was a text, call, direct message on social media, post, prayer, thoughtful gift, or words of encouragement, nothing was too little and each helped me to fight to live another day. Thank you sincerely for helping me find the light in the darkest of moments."

"[As] I step into this next year of life, I am filled with hope and optimism toward continuing to overcome challenges, cherishing those who cherish me, and embracing the future and God’s plan for my life with an open heart and mind," she concluded.
Carlee Russell Speaks Out for the 1st Time Since Admitting Kidnapping Was a Hoax: Reports
well i can agree with her on one thing - she is very blessed in that she didn't suffer greater consequences for her actions a year ago.
That will take her 30 years to pay back. I still want to know where she was! She should have been forced to tell the truth to the public. She got a sweet deal, imo.![]()
Carlee Russell must pay $50 a month as lawyer says she struggles with restitution in kidnapping hoax
Her attorney said Russell’s employment since her arrest has been sporadic which has led to inconsistency in her restitution payments.www.al.com
Thanks for the help!
I'm reading Sociopath: A Memoir by Patric Gagne.
When she was a young girl she would get into homes for sale by using her mother's lockbox code as a realtor. For a place to hang out.
Brought Carlee up in my head, and then I had a strong craving for Cheez Itz.
Will that be with or without interest? $50 a month is ridiculous! That's not justice. imooThat will take her 30 years to pay back. I still want to know where she was! She should have been forced to tell the truth to the public. She got a sweet deal, imo.
I doubt there is interest, she may have court fees added on. Wonder what the recourse is if she doesn't pay it? All I can do is smh with this gal! Will that be with or without interest? $50 a month is ridiculous! That's not justice. imoo
I’m hoping that her ex-boyfriend gives a tell-all interview
The only good thing from this trial is a change in AL law.I doubt there is interest, she may have court fees added on. Wonder what the recourse is if she doesn't pay it? All I can do is smh with this gal!
Me, too! I do have to give her parents a modicum of credit. They haven't paid the 18k for her...yet.I doubt there is interest, she may have court fees added on. Wonder what the recourse is if she doesn't pay it? All I can do is smh with this gal!
Well, I mean if she is only required to pay $50 a month that is the easy way for all of them to go. I wouldn't necessarily take that on character, but that is just my jaded opinion.Me, too! I do have to give her parents a modicum of credit. They haven't paid the 18k for her...yet.
@Quill ThxWell, I mean if she is only required to pay $50 a month that is the easy way for all of them to go. I wouldn't necessarily take that on character, but that is just my jaded opinion.
Yeah, we are in agreement (I think?) that character is on the low end here. Life experience with a couple of people who greatly remind me of this young woman has taught me that #1- just the fact that she thinks she has made a "singular" mistake rings my narcissist bell and #2- by the time she got to this gargantuan debacle it can almost be guaranteed that she has left a trail of "singular mistakes" that got swept under the rug with never an ounce of accountability.Speaking of Character....
@Quill Thxfor "a jaded opinion." Lemme add another one about Ms Russell, now 27 years old, who admits to having made a (<--- singular) mistake.
Cue the waterworks while making her stmt to the ct. about restoring the "positively esteemed character" she "worked so hard to obtain" for the "25 years" of her life before July 2023.
So before even getting out of DIAPERS, she started working so hard to build this "esteemed character"??? And never let up?
The only FB, Insta, & similar info I've seen is what's C & P in MSM. I don't recall anything reflecting her "positively esteemed character" before her arrest, but I could have missed it. Anyone?
Also per story, she completed more than her 100 hours of required community service. Any indication of what specific comm. service she performed, if her pages are open?
Maybe the continued counseling will help.
imo

From Oct. 16 al.com story :
“I made a grave mistake while trying to fight through various emotional issues and stress,” Russell said, crying as she addressed the judge in her plea hearing seven months ago.
“I absolutely regret my decision and in hindsight wish I had cried for help in a totally different manner. My prayer is that I will be extended grace and be given the opportunity to redeem who I truly am and restore the POSITIVELY ESTEEMED CHARACTER that I have WORKED SO HARD to obtain for the 25 YEARS of my life prior to this incident,” Russell said."
