Ok, so it looks like everyone trying to visit someone in the Alabama DOC (prisons as opposed to the county/city jails) are thoroughly vetted, including being fingerprinted at each visit and having their photo taken by the prison every 2 years.

This is the inmate visitor application that goes over all of the rules.

Neat. And the Lauderdale County Detention Center has policies that an inmate be transported by 2 armed guards. So....

Who is Casey White, the escaped Alabama murder suspect? - Fox News
<snipped & BBM>
He was a football player at West Limestone High School, according to former classmates, and grew up in rural Lester, Alabama.

Neighbors who knew him said he was quiet and often polite – but had "no moral checkpoint."

Court records show he pleaded guilty to a 2010 domestic assault for attacking a male relative with an ax handle and received a sentence of six years in state prison.

[…]

"The area he’s from, West Limestone, is very backwoods, lots of wooded areas, not very populated," a former acquaintance told Fox News Digital, asking for anonymity due to safety concerns. "He knows that area very well. I don’t believe they ran to the beach. Not without him doing what he said he would do first."

NEW piece of information from Lauderdale Co. Sheriff: Confirms that #VickiWhite visited #CaseyWhite over the course of **2 yrs** at state penitentiary. This was after the now escaped convict was in Florence in 2020 for court proceedings. @NBCNews @TopStoryNBC #ALmanhunt

Nothing is surprising me.

How could they not know this?

I’m not so sure, especially with Sheriff Singleton <modsnip> leaking information to the press. As someone who has worked under him for a decade and a half, I have a feeling she knew that the local sheriff’s office wouldn’t be able to keep the progress of the investigation a secret and is using Singleton’s inability to keep quiet to stay one step ahead of LE. I would be surprised if they are apprehended within the next few days. MOO.

I think anything the Sheriff does or says is now being controlled by people significantly senior to him. I think any so called leaks are deliberately orchestrated .

I am not sure how I think this will end . I do not see either of them wanting to be taken alive.

Thank you! I was wondering what the 6 years for domestic assault was. I assumed a girlfriend but could never run it down. jmo

ETA: In the video at the link Connie Ridgeway's son said he had no idea CW was even at the Lauderdale County jail. He thought CW was still in state prison.

Interesting. On Thread 1, I posted the guidelines for Alabama Corrections and it was only said that a staff person must disclose if they had a relationship with an inmate. I wonder if she did that — or even had to — in order to justify the visits. But maybe she passed it off as mentoring someone? I mean, it’s one thing to use a false ID with a picture, but it’d be nearly impossible to fake fingerprints. So she must have visited him as herself.

IMO, if he is from the backwoods, he feels comfortable there and that is the type of area where they are headed.

ETA - not a beach.

I’d like to know if this assault was against his brother who later disappeared.

In all likelihood, that car is merely a red herring of sorts. Plus, I ran the vin last night, (dont ask, I have a way to access Ford's private dealership systems) and....the last recorded warranty repair, was back in 2018. At that time, the car had over 161,000 miles on it! Imagine how many it will have by today, and then ask yourself, how inept would one have to be, to select a car that old and worn out, for such a serious purpose? She's not inept at all....that Orange Ford Edge was merely to get them to their real vehicle, and also to intentionally mislead the authorities.

When the premature releasing of the vehicle description came out with the vin number on the wanted poster, I immediately checked the vin number online.

I posted it in the thread right off.
All that has to be done to get the full info is to pay $2.99 or $4.99 for the complete record.

Here is the link again for the vin info on that vehicle;

I don't think it's going to go on for long. I'm trying to think of a case where a convicted, violent felon made a jailbreak followed by a nationwide manhunt and actually got away. Anyone...?
The rapist Max Factor heir absconded (though I think it was before his trial). Not a "jailbreak".
Eventually found in Mexico, but it took a while.
And the Mafia guy Whitey Bugler.....though again I don't think it was a jailbreak.
Chapos escaped prison , with the help of his wife, but was recaptured much later.

Thing is, this pair planned things out in advance, with one knowing the system and being on the outside.
Most jailbreaks are just managing to escape...through a tunnel or whatever, with no real plan of how/where to go after.

Regardless, I think they will be found, but it may take some time imo.

Evening ! First time poster so be gentle on me.
I’m fascinated by this case and have been following it from the UK. I personally think the relationship began before his first escape atttempt and wonder if she was involved and intended to be the ‘hostage’. Then the confession to the murder was for him to get back to where she is to try again. IMO she fed him some details of the murder to make his confession be believed just long enough to get him to her jail. I think VW has been manipulated and love bombed by CW and doesn’t see the huge danger she is in. I fear for LE and innocent members of the public if and when they are caught. I really feel they are themselves as Bonnie and Clyde and will go out in a hail of gunfire.

She works for Lauderdale County, not the Alabama DOC. They are two separate entities.

I've been thoroughly enjoying all the jokes being made here and there. It's nice to not follow such a horribly depressing case for once, and to also see how witty some of you are.

How long does everyone suppose this case will go on for? I can see how releasing the car info may have set them back but the public being able to keep their eyes out for it now would be helpful too I'd think?
I think that orange car is no more imo, switched to another, or the car spray painted an ordinary silver or white.

so where did the orange car info come from? was it the dealer who sold it to her? It had to be store somewhere by her did her old home have a garage? Did her mom have a garage or was she just out and about in it? Did she have another personal care? I just don't see her drivign around in this old car as her personal car.
