Wow! That list of missing people is really sad. Staggering to see all the names there. Good job, Claire! I’ve been away from the thread and can’t remember, were there any official searches done in the area. Like door to door, of waterways, etc.

ETA: Vehicle reported as having "Paper tags from Pearl Motors", so not a private seller. There goes that working idea (pretty much).

Yes, but the report says that the dealer 'pinged' the gps but that the pinging ended after the Shell station. Don't know much about gps in this particular car. How could the dealer have pinged the car to begin with if they didn't own it anymore? This part of the story seems odd.

Internet searching using wayback isn't something I am great at. I wondered if anyone here can go back and get the deleted footage that the Tv station said it had posted earlier? I find it hard to believe they could have erased it from the internet? I know LE asked the station to remove the footage but maybe if someone here can get it then we can at least possibly share it via PM so its not searchable on web? The article talks about how many cars were at the station and how long they were there.

Initially after seeing her list of goals centered around getting her car, I thought maybe she just wanted some time to herself now that she has the new freedom of a car. But the gps bothers me. Although, if she got the car that day from a dealership, she could have asked questions about her new car and about the gps so that she would be able to disable it herself. So, maybe we can hope that she just needed a few days away? I hope that’s the case and that she is safe. I just don’t know though. I don’t like it.

Does anyone know anything about the car dealer? Looked like it sells second hand cars off a single lot. I'm uncomfortable that they were able to ping a car that they no longer legally owned. Maybe they could do the ping if she got financing from them and they used GPS to track the car if they still had some kind of lien on it? But I'm not sure how I would feel about a dealer where I bought a car being able to track me after I bought a car from them? Seems odd/creepy/off.

We need @otto on this timeline and GPS question. I think this is right up his alley with the technical part that I am honestly not that familiar with. But he might be bogged down on MT case? Not sure but his maps were so helpful in putting ideas together and he was able to help on tech issues like phones and fitbit etc. He might know about GPS on this car.

Summary:
Mobile police are searching for a 24-year-old woman who hasn't been seen since Tuesday, July 17, 2018.

Danniella Vian, was last seen Tuesday riding in a deep blue 2014 Chevrolet Cruz with a Pearl Motors paper tag at the Shell Staton on 3500 Government Blvd. Vian was believed to be wearing a Mellow Mushroom T-shirt and hat.

Vian had reportedly gone to The Dublin Pub & Eatery with a friend, and left in two separate cars to go to another venue. Along the way, Vian realized that she did not have her cell phone, and flashed her headlights at her friend’s car to alert her, before they pulled in to a gas station to look for her phone in the car.

Family members say they pulled off at that Shell station to look for the phone and decided to head back to Dublin’s to look there when they didn’t immediately find it.

The friend told family members he last saw Vian get in her car to follow him back to the bar and assumed she was driving behind him.

The time stamped video shows what appears to be two cars pulling into the parking lot at 11:05 pm on July 17th.

Two minutes later, one car appears to leave. The other car stays. At 11:08, another car pulls in and both cars stay parked until 11:24 when they both leave.

Observations:
There is some conflict between JT and JV and some drama over . I'll sit on my hands for now before sharing what I think of these two. How they regard Danniella and her disappearance provides important insight into some dynamics in Danniella's life, though.

There does not appear to be any friendly interaction between TT and Danniella since 2016.

What is the situation with the ?
 
I thought it was suspicious that the car dealer could 'ping' the car to begin with even though they didn't own it anymore. I wonder if they could have disabled the gps to make it possible for the car to be 'taken'? Just thinking and typing but I wonder if they are on the 'up an up' and upstanding citizens? Does anyone local know if they are reputable or could they be tied into this whole thing?

Weren't they drinking? If she didn't have it secured or in a case then it could have just soundlessly dropped to the ground.

Wonder if LE was able to see if the 'friend' made any adjustments/alterations to any of the info on the phone? Something just doesn't seem right about the entire finding the phone and then passing off the phone to JT?

Quite a bit can be done on the media side. But I am curious why LE doesn't seem to be engaging the public as if this were a missing persons case? They seem to be playing it as an abduction case IMO. The pulling of the gas station video and not providing any other information is telling I think. Also WS TOS makes doing much here difficult as everything seems to connect to the victim/missing person and associated family/'friends' it seems.

Officially, from the "Friend" and family the last time she was seen was at the Shell station. The "Friend" made it back to the bar and located the phone, but Danniella never showed up and he went home. It wasn't till late that the phone was handed over to the family by the "Friend". Then it was turned over to the police.

2. Where are the other two points of interest?

I think the first one is going to be the original bar, even if she got lost, Mobile is fairly easy to get around, so I can't see her going home. The only other place she may have gone was to Dauphin Street to some of the bars there. Maybe she didn't want to go all the way back to Dublins and wanted to continue on Downtown?

3. Which way did they go out of the Shell?

This has been a sticking point for me since the beginning .. That information has never been released.

The typical route would be West down 90, then North on Demetropolis Road, which turns into University, the West on Old Shell to Dublins.

4. Was the GPS was intentionally disabled or accidentally disabled?

I can't see GPS being disabled accidently. Typically the fuse box is hidden under the dash and has a plastic snap on cover. It would take a bit of work to knock the cover off and knock the fuse out. Typically you have to use a fuse puller to get the fuse out, because they are so tight.

Here is a good website that shows how to disable OnStar and GPS. (Same fuse)

This could easily be researched, and completed in less than 5 minutes.

Do you know why the friend in 1 above went home? He knew she didn't have a phone. Wasn't he concerned about her welfare? Seems odd.

They were out to celebrate her new car, so I assume so. When I’m walking to my car, I’ve got my phone in my hand like 90% of the time, and given her youth, I’d assume she would too—to check for any new messages or whatnot. But I could be wrong. And falling onto grass might muffle the sound.
