I don't understand why the circumstances of Kamden's death still hasn't been released. AFAIK the cause of death is undetermined; if he had died in a hot van certainly the cause would have been identified by now (hyperthermia) and msm would be all over it. There are clear signs of hyperthermia, like petechiae.

Other cases of hot car deaths are immediately reported so is it possible something else was done to Kamden? Argh, it hurts to even think about it. :tears:

I've only seen mention of a preliminary autopsy not the full autopsy. Isn't the prelim just looking over the body and not (I hate to even say this) the opening up part.

I was wondering about that too.

You just added an additional twist...corporal punishment is legal. Can this be an offenders loophole I wonder?

Is difficult to say with defense attorney what they might pull. My guess in this case she will plea on criminal charges due to her past record and daycare insurance company will settle out of court. I would be shocked if this makes it in front of a judge at trial. JMO

I just finished this thread as I am late to the party. I don't see anything to suggest this is a hot car death. I have no idea what happened to that little boy, but I'm also not sold on the idea that it was just an accident or negligence. There are some pretty effed up people in this world.

Yes, that's what I am thinking. If a hot car death, it should be pretty clear, no? And now they're waiting on toxicology tests to come back. I don't think they have any idea what happened. And I think it could be drug related. But, How? Why? It's just strange.

This too! ^^^

I wouldn't think so. Corporal punishment is usually swats on the rear. I went to catholic school when corporal punishment was allowed. And, yes, nuns will swat you.

Off topic-ish, but a friend posted on her fb the other day a letter fom the achool. It was a permission slip for corporal punishment. In 2017! I was shocked and horrified. I homeschool. But clearly, lots of places are still allow to hit a child. Who will then be punished for hitting someone else. Anyway....

I saw the court moment on the news. It made me cry cause I thought it was the baby's dad. I am.more relieved to know it was her son. I have been nervous to come here to read. This case is so emotional. I literally cannot.imagine what his parents are going through. Or what this woman did to this little, handsome child.

More info from the lawsuit:

"Kamden's mother dropped him off at this daycare with every right and every expectation to believe that they would take care of him and keep him safe and they didn't," Cain [family's attorney] said. "They failed miserably in that regard."

The lawsuit does not mention a cause of death, however, it does say the daycare failed to "rescue" Kamden. Cain says based on medicine and science there was a point in the day where it was possible to help him.

"At some point in time prior to his death, Kamden was in a spot where he could have been rescued or could have been take (sic) to a hospital or ambulance called and saved," he said. "Now whether or not Ms. Patterson or someone else at the daycare had the opportunity to do that still remains to be seen."

The lawyer goes on to say they're waiting on tox reports to see if anything was in Kamden's system.

I don't know what to make of the lawyer's statements. Rescue Kamden from what? Where? The daycare owners claim that whatever happened did not happen at the daycare.

From above post...

I don't know what to think about this. The last sentence almost contradicts the first.

Wow. That makes me think more medicinal than injury. Did they give him something? Benedryl maybe?

This is just one example of what happens when there are no regulations.

Based on religion....I guess they think that religious people will follow guidelines without having to be told. This is why we have separation of church and state. No way should someone be allowed to run a daycare, and not have to go through reglulations all because they claim religious status. If I'm not mistaken, this is only allowed in the south. SMFH

Maybe he went through one of their bags and took pills thinking they were candy. Rather than calling medics the woman freaked even while alive and disposed of him? Just speculating.

Maybe he got hold of a poison or something and swallowed it and they didnt seek medical assitance
