I really hope so linette :please: - but I fear he does have nerves of steel in some ways.

That anyone could get through the funeral the way he did, with the eyes of Allison's parents, friends and family on him - and the way he apparently could look his girls in the eyes in those awful weeks after Allison died, strut around locally bold as brass - is unbelievable and he really is something else. I don't know how any normal human being could have got through that time without breaking down (if guilty).

You are 100% correct. But I'm wondering, he has always used other people to prop himself up, to make him feel good with seemingly very little regard to those around him, including his wife and children.
People who consistently need other people to make them feel good quite often lose the plot entirely when the 'supporters' have gone. They just don't know what the heck to do... they aren't who they thought they were anymore. Their behaviour can become quite erratic.

This must be a massive blow for him... even his parents are up north visiting family. Other peoples lives are going on while he sits in there, feeling forgotten.

Hopefully this may cause some type of breakdown where he crawls out of his vulture-like skin and admits to what he has done.

Given he has no money left, and hopefully what little the kids have left is safe, who pays for his defense?
I do remember there was talk of lawyers doing it pro bono, has that been confirmed at all?

I don't know. I can't imagine the lawyers doing it pro bono when it appears inevitable they would lose? IMO

Yeah, apparently there was nothing to suggest they were doing it for free. Didn't one of them end up leaving?
This is something nobody can figure out, where is the money coming from? Hmmm!!

Maybe he's heard some of the evidence police have against him??

And that is a lot too. Must be doing his head in. Imagine the meeting between him and his lawyers tomorrow after handover???

That's why I think there is a possibility {slight} that he might plead guilty. You know, plead guilty but have lame reasons for it and hope he might still get off. He might feel it's better to go that way if there is so much evidence against him.

Surely his lawyers can't believe he is innocent? Can they?

Makara, thanks for the screencaps from the video. You are amazing with what you can do with the computer. Does anyone know what the green shade cloth is for, and also what the white square on the ground in the mud is (as seen in Makara's screen caps)? Thanks.

Originally I thought the tent was setup during the day to keep the sun off, thus the reason it wasn't in the shots with the ambo looking people I thought they had packed up and were going home.
But looking from that angle you can see it's enclosed.
I am guessing this is to allow them to work away from people they don't want to see it (MSM) and those who don't want to see it (traffic police, SES) and also to keep the insects away.

It would make sense that they examine the body as soon as possible in case they had to compare information between the body and the location it was found.
Makes much more sense than taking it back to a morgue and have to go back and forth if they have anything to check out.

If so I wonder if he will take someone else with him who helped after the fact

she is a few hours from brissy so if she was going straight home I think she would have got their by afternoon. But maybe she has gone somewhere else? maybe to dinner, or to visit friends?

POSS.........call home missy, so we know you are safe xx

I'm ok. Big day. Walked as far as I could up Little Ugly (towards Kholo Bridge) until a tree blocked my way. Saw the SES tape that Wakeskate documented. Had lunch in New Farm with river clay and gravel pouring out of my birkenstocks. Went home via the bridge again.
Have been alone with my thoughts.
Sorry if I worried anyone

They didn't bring her up till just before dark fell, and I imagine they would have done all that under the bridge, before they moved her. But it still would have provided privacy and protection or even just shelter as you said.someone could have set up a station. HAnd as you also said, there?

Sorry, my phone keeps cutting and pasting all over the place! I meant agree with you that it would have been very upsetting for everyone there that day, no doubt detectives included.

I am sure that is why I left the body there till the latest possible time of light and probably the tide, but it would also make sense to continue the examination on site once they moved her just in case something new turned up. I am not suggesting they performed the autopsy on site, but a second examination makes sense instead of taking it all the way to a facility only to find something they missed when the body was on the mud.

Anyway not that important to the case from our point of view. I think we have established she was found on the mud near the high tide mark which means there is a strong possibility that she has floated down from either Kholo or Little Ugly Creek.

There may be a third possibility - among others that we may not know about yet. If Detectives believe that she floated to the position where she was found, then the force of the high tide that weekend could have dislodged her from higher up the bank under the bridge, then as the water receded, the body embedded in the mud at the high tide water mark. We learned from MSM reporting that she was found with her face in the mud which seems to indicate the body had been floating in water and was embedded in that position as the water receded. [Earlier in the Thread posters have noted that a body floats head down in water]. Just thoughts - keeping an open mind. My opinion only, not fact.

All credit to your info AAA about the state of mind of GBC but as hopeful as we could be that he would get the guilts and do the 'right thing' lets not forget the master manipulator can put on one hell of a performance about himself - he is used to relying on his own resources to get him out of these binds. His behaviour in the past probably did involve a lot of sugar coated conniving with work mates and family which was quite successful and would have reinforced that this is a sure fire way to get his own way. And now in the detention centre he has to work out what behaviours will buy him latitude and work to give him respite.

But I don't think he gives a flying fruit fly about what he has done or in fact is capable of true remorse - he is totally consumed by his situation and would be using what he knows about the routines and procedures of the detention centre now to reamp up his 'little bit hurt' routine. We can't afford him sympathy - even this slight admission of 'good' will be an enabler for his behaviour.

Here is hoping that Danny Boyle has ammunition to throw at this path when GBC makes the play for mental distress.

Absolutely Liadan. I don't believe for a second the liar is having a breakdown. He would have researched the symptoms and off he went. Evil b*****d
