I read the news last night, saw the mug shot and cringed thinking that this was the face of evil.... the last thing Anne had to look at. I just can't imagine the fear that must have been running through Anne as she fought for her life... I just can't imagine. Then to be a mother and walk in and find your precious daughter in that condition. I will hold my daughters just a little closer and longer today. May Anne rest in peace. I just hope her mother is able to find some kind of peace with the arrest.

The latest news:

Heads up: Vance's public defenders have filed an appeal of his conviction to the AR Supreme Court. http://www.todaysthv.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=116949&catid=2
There is a small error in the story: his trial for the rape of Kristen Edwards HAS been rescheduled (it is now on its FOURTH continuance) for November 1st, 2010.

I really feel badly because of the way the Edwards case has been handled. Her assault was first and she still hasn't gotten "justice" in court yet. And if her case was handled properly and promptly, PERHAPS Anne would still be alive.

Thank you for continuing this thread here. Some of us still like to come and check and to add new info.

Looks like she's never going to get justice.

An Arkansas judge has declared a mistrial in the rape case of a man who was separately convicted of murdering a television anchorwoman. (bbbm) http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap...mgAmHA?docId=5ab14af822c94ab0a613f499e16eb00c

A man already incarcerated for killing an Arkansas television anchorwoman won't be tried again on a separate rape charge after jurors failed to reach a unanimous verdict in the case, a prosecutor said Thursday. Lee County prosecutor Fletcher Long told The Associated Press that he has decided not to retry Curtis Lavelle Vance because the accuser, a Marianna school teacher who was attacked in her home, doesn't want to go through another trial.
