did Anita have visible freckles? can anyone tell ?
I can't tell from the photos I have of her. Freckles tend to fade with age if you protect your skin from the sun.
To have visible freckles like EDJD had, she'd have some freckles as a child, and they would get darker and more of them due to exposure to sun.

In a facebook group I'm a member of, a niece of a missing woman from the 1960s has suggested her aunt as a possible match for EDJD. There is currently no MSM, Namus or Doe network link (she's working on getting her submitted into Namus) so I won't share details here. But if you search Phyllis Corbin on FB and find posts about her you'll see it come right up.

But the fb group is called Research and Compare Does if you wish to join and take a look and the missing woman's initial are PMC, it'll be one of the most recent posts. There are definitely some strong similarities.
I've also suggested to the niece that she may wish to start a thread for her aunt here on websleuths

I always thought EDJD looked around my brother's age (b. 1970,) or a few years older.

If she's Phyllis she'd have been older than my mum (43 or older.)

Yeah - I don't think Phyllis is EDJD. Her birth date is 9/6/47. I also believe EDJD was born in the late 60's /early 70's

Anita's photos are yearbook photos and might well have been airbrushed.

This might be kind of weird, but after watching 'I, Tonya' with Margot Robbie I thought a lot about EDJD. Maybe it was because of the timeline and her being blonde, also the rough life. I wish I could have been a friend to our Doe, someone somewhere out there must be missing you, girl.

This is the closest match I've seen since Kimberly Ann Kahler. Kimberly had visible freckles, similar jaw, was the same height and had the same colour eyes, as well as eye colour. I'm new to this site but have been researching this case for a while, and really hope this poor woman gets her name back and is returned to the people who are missing her.

Was there supposed to be a link attached to your post? Who are you referring to? Thanks

Rule outs list updated with Roxanne Sims of OR, missing 1977. I can't for the life of me figure out how to copy and paste the rule outs list on the new Namus site sorry.

It's a tedious task to create a simple list now with the new NAMUS unlike the previous quick and easy copy, cut and paste that could be done. There is a new feature when you copy cut and past it will show all the rule outs pics and links to their case file all thou it comes out a bit mixed up with names and states etc....

I don't know if you guys have seen this but an obvious relative of Anita Qvist commented on a Grateful Doe post about EDJD that Anita couldn't be EDJD because the family actually last spoke to Anita in 1994, not 1984 as NAMUS states.

Was DNA ever submitted for Qvist? Also is it possible that maybe they spoke to her in 1991 and not 1994. I think it would be hard to remember exactly what year you last talked to someone if it’s been that long ago. Unless she was reported missing shortly or just a few years after. There are people I haven’t seen or talked to in years and most of those people I can’t give you an exact year but an estimate or good guess. Heck I can’t even remember the exact year or dates people I’m close with got married. Although if it’s a family member you haven’t seen in a while that is missing it might be different or a little easier to remember. No disrespect to the family as I’m sure they can probably even tell by the photos whether or not it’s their loved one. Hopefully one day both of theses cases will be solved.

I don’t get it. She disappeared at the age of 15 in 1979. If the family spoke to her 15 years later in 1994 then they should be able to give much more info than what is currently available for her, IMO of course.

1994 was quite a while ago now. Memories fade. And maybe the family members who spoke to her aren't alive any more?

Anita's mother died in 1984 and her father died in 1994. CA - CA - Anita Qvist, 13, San Francisco, 1 January 1979
IMO, this could be why family thinks they spoke to her in 1994. Someone may have called her to tell her that her father died. It's possible they really did speak to her for both funerals or it's possible that someone is mixing up the two events in their memory. NAMUS may be using the earlier last contact date if different family members have given conflicting info. Memories can be faulty after so many years, especially when someone is recalling details of a time of grief. JMO.

I agree, and again I’m not trying to bash the family so I don’t want anyone to take this the wrong way as I’m sure they are hurting because they miss her. But I have so many questions for them. If she was last seen in 1979 then were did she go if someone was able to contact her in 1984 or 1994. Someone obviously knew how to reach her unless in fact she called them. Couldn’t you have traced the #. I would think that if they last spoke to her during the year one of her parents passed away then someone most likely called her to let her know they had passed. Instead of her contacting them.
