And poor Anna looked so young in that video, like a high school girl being asked to prom. She looked so young to me for marriage, and like it was forced on her, and with her upbringing had no choice. It did sound like Michelle had some fun before meeting JB. It wasn't clear though, if JB had girlfriends before Michelle. It was just that bad Michelle that caused problems. And the training for babies to sleep and eat. We tried everything to have our first baby sleep at night, even old wives tales from my mom, little did I know there was a training book on that. No wonder those kids are afraid to run far away from that family, they must think the sky would fall on them.

Whether or not the information should have come out can be debated until the cows come home. The point is it's OUT and it's TRUE. So what now?
Would you all like to see him prosecuted?
Registered as SO for life?
I mean we know these things are true facts. There is no denying it now. It's admitted by perp, parents, LEO's and victims! It happened, period. So now what?
I'm seriously asking because I wonder really now what should be done about it, if anything. Clearly they don't and likely won't be getting a show back on TLC or any
other sensible network. Is that enough?

If TLC cancels the show, I wonder if another network would pick it up? Like a network that shows only family/religious things on it. I've been wondering what happens if after marriage, a couple can't have kids, for whatever reason, I wondered if the couple would be shunned? If the couple adopted, would that be okay within this group? I looked at pictures and read what all Jill went through to have that baby boy, it was really traumatic, and if she decided she can't do that again, would she be shunned? I would imagine if a girl can't reproduce or cater to a man, what good would she be? Just sickening

Did you all notice that both the parents, and the daughters mentioned that Josh had had to pay for his own counselling? What was the significance of that do you think? I thought it was a really strange point to emphasise .. I don't really understand why the Duggars think that's so important?

:waitasec:

I wonder if they are translating labor that he performed into "pay".

They may be just trying to emphasize that he was required to pay for his own "mistakes" as part of the punishment.

Were there any requirements for the parents for failing to protect additional children from abuse?

Oh, snap. Megyn Kelly blasts the media for FOIA requesting the police report ... and it turns out Fox filed a request too!

Wow! This is a comprehensive, succinct report of contradictions made by the Duggars during their interviews!

I am especially curious about the following incidence reported in the Springdale Police Report:

"The Springdale police report also reveals that Josh molested another awake victim outside the home.

According to the report: 'They [Jim Bob and Michelle] said that [redacted, Josh] also admitted to fondling [redacted] outside the home on her breasts.' "

I wonder where this fondling activity took place.... Since it was outside the home...?

This seems to me to be quite an escalation of abuse on the part of Josh!

FOX can hire them as their religious issues experts, now that Huckabee is pursuing the presidency....LOL JMO

It sounds to me like it can be. He assaulted a minor who still is not 18. Or am I reading this wrong?

Is this why the records were destroyed?

I inferred that the 3 years doesn’t start until the victim turns 18. If I'm right, any victim currently under 21 could press charges. Thoughts?

Huckabee cut bait last week when he scrubbed his website ;)

From the In Touch link:

“By its very nature, destruction is an irreversible decision and it seems odd Judge Zimmerman chose to have the police reports destroyed. I don’t understand why she simply didn’t have the information she felt identified Jane Doe 1 redacted. And, if she wished to go further, why she didn’t have the records sealed pending further investigation."

It doesnt seem odd to me at all given the nature of the relationship between Mike Huckabee and Zimmerman, and Huckabee and the Duggars.

Where I live we get info on sex offenders of Level Three- most likely to reoffend.

Who knows if he has kept it up.

The world knows so now they can be safe around him. He can't use any tricks of being holy so he is entitled, That seems to be a method abusers use.

Their show and any spin offs should not occur, If they do, it is rewarding molesters.

Look how profitable the Anthony's have made missing children be. I do not think we would see so many people profiting from missing children. They served as top notch roke models.

The Duggars have to be stopped now, They can get real jobs,

The three murder by abuse cases I referenced in my earlier post were all adopted children. Adoption was frowned upon by the P/QF movements until 'royal' Nancy Campbell advocated adoption in one of her books. Even now though, Michael Pearl makes shocking statements like this:
Never adopt children even close to the age of your own. You should be past child-bearing age, and your children should be at least 10 to 15 years older than the adopted kids. I don’t think there is any such thing as an orphanage-raised child who has not been a participant in sexual perversion. If you are older and your kids are grown, it is a wonderful, full-time ministry to adopt foreign kids. You will experience heartache, possibly failure, but you may just save a soul from sure destruction. But if there is failure, at least your kids will not go down with them.
A couple not being able to conceive wouldn't be shunned if there's a medical reason - they almost certainly would be though if they chose not to have children - including celibacy. Having children is seen as God's will and to do anything against God's will is inexcusable - just like any faith, not everyone believes this, but many do. It's seen as your duty to ensure a quiverfull of arrows (children) unto this world to work as God's messengers.

To this end, there are a great many P/QF followers and bloggers who have openly dispensed spiritual advice that could endanger the life of mom and/or baby, phrasing it as God's will if either doesn't survive the experience. Women who have lost their lives as a result are held up as shining examples.

Many women who have moved away from these movements are very vocal that their reproductivity was the only thing that ever mattered. And I have to add that the Duggars are relatively successful in terms of P/QF - most families don't have the income, housing and subsequent benefits being reality TV stars have afforded them. Andrea Yates and her children are a perfect example of what can go tragically wrong. And they are by no means the only family relegated to forcing their children to live in horrible conditions because of their faith. Another 'rock star' of this movement shared in a nationwide publication how she heated her house (filled with black mould) with oil lamps; moved upstairs when downstairs flooded (hence the mould); lived without running water and the only way to escape the smoke from the wood stove was to lie on the floor with the baby. The Duggars don't do a lot that other P/QF families are forced to do out of sheer necessity.

Lastly, the Botkin daughters (also highly revered within the movement) offer spiritual retreats for young women and their fathers. Among the list of events are a Father Daughter Purity Ball and shaving your father's facial hair. They advocate unmarried women stay at home at serve their fathers - ultimately preparing them for marriage and being a good help-meet for their future husband.

I'm all for religious freedom but what some of these folks believe is downright terrifying. Sorry if too O/T.

Interesting interview with Nicholas Ducote, a self-identified “homeschool survivor." Ducote helps run the blog Homeschoolers Anonymous, and Homeschool Alumni Reaching Out, a non-profit which is described as “renewing and transforming homeschooling from within."

What about it confused you?

Well it was kind of two different teachings that went together. One was an STD teaching that basically said you can’t get an STD from your wife; as long as you’re in a godly, monogamous relationship and nobody cheats, then you can’t get an STD. It’s just going to completely ignore if these people would have had any contact with humanity before they met each other because presumably they are virgins. But in addition, there’s this idea of immunity, that when a husband and a wife have monogamous relations for a long time, the wife develops an immunity to a natural reaction to semen. If you are promiscuous, you will ruin this immunity and get cancer. A lot of ATI’s ideas about disease and spirituality are that it’s kind of two sides of the same coin. Your spiritual problems cause your physical problems. They believe cancer is a punitive condition for a lot of people, that God will curse you will cancer. To tie it all together, their big thing was that God and the Bible and fundamentalism could be applied to every situation. Every situation in life is black and white and there is something God has to say about it.

The more I learn about the ATI (and other fundamentalist homeschooling) materials the more alarmed I become. Misinformation like this clearly crosses the line of laughably ignorant and into downright harmful. To be clear, I'm talking only about homeschooling that utilizes blatantly false information. IOW where the propaganda is more important than the truth.

What? I was about to say I cannot believe this crap BUT then I remembered a story. My very good friend has a son with a terminal kidney disease. ( he got a transplant and is now doing well ) She took him for prayer while they were awaiting a kidney and this pastor that prayed over them said essentially there was nothing that could be done because she had premarital sex so the child's kidney disease was HER punishment. She was quite a wreck for awhile after that.

Fortunately there is a special place in he** for people like that. I wish, anyway. The people who think they are so above everyone else because they are so righteous and the rest of us are so unenlightened to me are the worst.

I wish I had an answer. I think no TV show is a start. I would advise counseling but they'd never do it. It's my hope that Jana, Jinger & Joy Anna can break free, but I do wonder what the little ones were told.
