From what I understand, they did come forward with information and were never contacted.

Also, I believe I read somewhere the police commented they were very familiar with The Bart Hayes case but they could not comment on an ongoing investigation. Just from reading a lot of stories and their comments the last week, it sounds like a lot of people think it was Sevier but they can’t prove it.

RX-Mom— where did you read the stories and comments last week about people thinking Brian Sevier did it but can’t prove it. I’d like to read those comments too.

Same here. I can't shake the feeling it was him.

Alma Police receive hundreds of tips since 'Still Missing Morgan' | 5newsonline.com

Since the local documentary "Still Missing Morgan" aired on Channel 5 last Saturday, the Alma Police Department has been receiving a lot of new tips about the case.

They say they have gotten around 150 leads since it aired and a lot of the leads are new leads that have never been called in before.

Pointer says it’s very encouraging and before the documentary aired, they would average a lead or two a week. He says it’s not surprising to get new leads but on some, they question why they didn’t call sooner. He says some are understandable circumstances.

Captain Brett Hartley says they are working through those leads one at a time and asks for understanding from the public that they are a very small department and it’s not possible for them to contact everyone back.

"Still Missing Morgan" will give viewers an unprecedented look inside the open case where invaluable access to the investigation will be showcased and promising leads discussed.

"Viewers aren't watching something that's happened already, they're part of history in the marking," Parks told THV11 northwest Arkansas sister station 5NEWS. "They are along for the ride with the family of a missing child, the investigators searching for her, and the information as it's pieced together like a puzzle."

"Still Missing Morgan" will not be available for replay online at this time. You can also watch it live on THV11 through Paramount+.

"Since it's aired here in Arkansas, we've had 200 leads that have come in. Some of those leads have never been called in before,” said Colleen, Morgan Nick’s mother.

Colleen said although she's always held out hope for her daughter Morgan's return, 26 years later, these leads are valid. Which has encouraged her family.

"They are very good leads that are being investigated at the local state and federal level,” said Colleen.

The Still Missing Morgan documentary took two years to piece together and after watching the 90-minute segment, Colleen is pleased with how it depicted her daughter's disappearance.

"We provided home video that had never been seen before. And I believe the documentary does a really good job of showing what happened to Morgan that night,” said Colleen.

Morgan was playing with two of her friends at an Alma ballfield on the night of June 9th, 1995.

When they all started running back to the bleachers, Morgan stopped to tie her shoe and that's the last time anyone saw the 6-year-old.

And 26 years later, the documentary showed a red truck with a white camper shell.

Colleen said detectives have made that truck a priority in the investigation.
Morgan Nick documentary sheds new light on missing Alma girl | thv11.com

Has there been any investigation into this man? I searched the forums, local news, police arrest records, and nada. Even tried various combinations.

Living through the unimaginable

Karl Douglas Roberts. Arkansas man arrested and convicted for raping his 12 year old niece, Andi Brewer. Said to have a red pick up truck. Abducted her, assaulted her, and killed her in May of 1999. Man is currently sitting on death row. She was also a young, blonde girl. His defense was severe brain damage, and he requested the death penalty. Don't know if it is relevant, but gives an idea of who he was/is. He is still sitting on death row.

Andi died on May 15th. Her body was recovered in Mena, Arkansas- that is only 60-ish miles from Alma.

I have seen rumors online from people claiming to be locals. Rumors say that he tried to claim Morgan was one of his victims and that she was buried under a bridge. Sounds like standard psycho babble, trying to get fame.

I trust that the FBI and LLE did their due diligence, but was just wondering if there are any reports about clearing him of a connection? Does anyone know when he was arrested? I can find trial information from 2000, but not arrest records to compare dates. Usually they're lying and want attention, but I would feel beter if he was officially ruled out.

IMO, best route would be to reach out to the Morgan Nick Foundation

I think you might be right. They probably have the answers.

I feel nervous about sending a tip or even an inquiry in too soon (I don't want to not be taken seriously in the future if it doesn't pan out).
Right now I am creating a small file about this lead so I can present all of the info. What I have found today (word of mouth only, still no reports) is that the police assumed the man wanted to get more time by going to trial, and never looked into it.
BUT Karl specifically asked for the death penalty for himself. He said "I want to die" and waived his rights in regards to his trial.
This doesn't sit right with me. He hasn't been fighting his date at all from what I can tell. I think he may have been trying to confess and it was dismissed without any real consideration.

I'll let y'all know what I find out.
