Police say man cashed missing brother's checks | Arkansas Democrat Gazette

The brother of a man who has been missing since June was arrested by Pulaski County sheriff's deputies Friday morning after he was caught cashing his brother's veteran's benefit checks, a spokesman said.

<<Deputies received a warrant to arrest Barry Rich, 34, of 9101 Auxor Road in Little Rock on Dec. 15 after an investigation with the Department of Veteran Affairs determined that the benefit checks of Randy Rich were being cashed, said John Rehrauer, a spokesman for the sheriff's office.

Checks were cashed at Sawyer's Food Market, 3409 Base Line Road, among other places. The investigation concluded that Barry Rich had cashed the checks.>>

<<During the interview, Barry Rich gave false information about the destruction of vehicles at Randy Rich's property at 4924 Geyer Springs Cutoff, according to the arrest report. Then Barry Rich admitted to lying and said he disposed of vehicles at his brother's property, the report said>>
