I think it is just because we all get so downhearted and dejected after watching case after case grow cold. It is hard to watch someone, that you KNOW is lying and covering up his evil deeds, just get away with it, again and again.

I have been too depressed about this case to check back. I did not even realize it was the one year anniversary. :rose::star::rose::angel:
I know what you mean, it is very disheartening. It seems all the cases I'm following, or have followed, other than maybe one or two are going cold or ended with no justice served. The cases in which there is a known and quite obvious prime suspect, such as in Caylee's death and in Robyn's disappearance, make me especially crazy, I guess because it seems so clear to me.
In Caylee's case, LE did a decent job as did the prosecution, yet there was JB who out and out lied in court and there was a completely dumbed down jury, so FCA walked.
For Robyn's case, Aruba LE essentially says "no body, no case". But if Robyn wasn't murdered and was trafficked, there would be no body. Yet they don't seem to want to consider charges of kidnapping against GG. And if it did by some chance turn out that Robyn did disappear willingly, would GG protect her if he was facing kidnapping charges? I kind of doubt it, so it would probably force the truth to come out, IF that were the case.
Anyway, as far as Robyn's case I guess I still have some hope, which is, I suppose, why it's like a magnet that continues to pull me back.
Good to see you checking back in katydid. :seeya:

Indecency case dropped for Md. man held in Aruba

A lawyer for a man suspected in the presumed death of his traveling companion in Aruba says prosecutors in Maryland are dropping an unrelated indecent exposure charge.

A lawyer for Gary Giordano told The Associated Press that a prosecutor informed him of the decision Friday.

Giordano was arrested in May after Annapolis police say he and a woman were found naked in a parked car. Giordano was charged with indecent exposure and the case was set for trial next week.

Attorney Steven Kupferberg asked for the case to be dismissed, saying no crime had been committed.

On the anniversary of Robyn 's disappearance, the charges were dropped. Perfect timing, huh.

Gary Giordano to fight indecent exposure charge
Thursday, 8/2/2012

WASHINGTON - Gary Giordano, the sole suspect in the disappearance in Aruba of Robyn Gardner, will fight a charge of indecent exposure after being arrested with a woman in the back of his sport utility vehicle, his lawyer tells WTOP.

"We don't think a crime was committed," says defense attorney Steven Kupferberg.

"The crime of indecent exposure requires a person willfully and intentionally expose himself to others in public, and that didn't happen," says Kupferberg.

In May 2012 charging documents, Annapolis Police officers said they observed Giordano and Carol Ann Bock of Tennessee naked in the rear compartment of a Cadillac Escalade on the second level of a downtown parking garage.

According to police, passersby complained of seeing sexual activity in the SUV.

"The facts as charged don't present a crime," says Kupferberg, who will defend Giordano Aug. 10 in Anne Arundel County District Court.

Police say Giordano and Bock were trying to hide themselves under a blanket.

"There was no exposure. If anyone saw anything it certainly wasn't willful or intentional," says
Kupferberg.

Hurricane Ernesto will be flying by Aruba to the north in the next day or so which means Aruba will experience some rough seas. Let's hope it's rough enough to stir up the sea bottom and return certain items back to shore. Nature sometimes works in mysterious ways. Let's hope a clue into what happened to RG and where she went into the water reveals itself soon. jmo

Wow, thanks for the update Sapphire. What is it about the disgusting, repulsive sleazebags that they seem to get away with everything. So knowing that GG is a disgusting and repulsive sleazebag, I guess I should not be surprised. Still..... :maddening:

Yes, he is a sleaze bag. I am confident he will mess up again, and I hope another woman doesn't pay the price with her life, as Robyn did.

Giordano has had several free passes. It won't last forever.

BTW, Dushi, I noticed you were on this case from the very beginning, and are one of the few who are still here. to a truly dedicated Sleuther!

Unfortunately for me, I came in later, but better late than never I guess. It is kind of sad that many of the early posters who followed this case early on, have fallen by the wayside. :(

:lurk:

a lurker here - I've been following this case from the beginning also, but mostly lurk... I did do a timeline for this case - and still here!! :seeya:

Yes, you did do that awesome timeline, Niner! So grateful for that! Just didn't know you had been lurking here since the beginning, though I knew you had been around a while.
When I went back to the first thread to post the link here for Robyn's one year missing anniversary, is when I noticed that Dushi's first post was when Robyn's forum first started. The other first posters I didn't even recognize they have been gone so long. :(
Daunting to think how much work and time you put into that timeline. I don't think any of us have ever thanked you enough for that, so there's no time like the present as they say, so :tyou: for that.... and for faithfully :lurk: and TU for still being here too! :seeya:

I agree, that timeline was/is great.
I have gone to it several times to refresh my memory of events

And I thank you for it as well.

Also, I thank Neesaki for keeping the media links current

Thank you, and glad to see that it is been used!!

I like to help when I can on a case...

Still awaiting Justice for Robyn!

Dan Roundfield, former Atlanta Hawks star, drowns in Aruba while saving wife

The former All Star was apparently swept away in a strong current as he tried to help his struggling wife, Larmonie said. Police, firefighters, the Coast Guard and volunteers searched for him, finding his body about 90 minutes later, trapped by rocks underwater.

The couple had visited Aruba nearly 20 times and were caught off guard by the strong currents at the swimming area known as "Baby Beach
," even though they had been there many times in the past, she said.

"We always go to Baby Beach, and we go there because it's so safe," she told The Associated Press. "It happened so fast."

This is so horribly tragic. That poor man, that poor family, for this to happen to them on a vacation that they have been on 20 years, how heartbreaking ...

Meanwhile, looking at this incident and GG's claims of what happened that day: the weather was rough, unlike the day that Robyn disappeared, and this good man's body was trapped in rocks and recovered, not swept out to sea. :sigh: Thank God there seems to be nothing here that could support GG's claims. Seemingly the opposite, imo.

Larmonie said Baby Beach is generally safe but can be deceptive. The water can get treacherous out beyond the reef in rough weather.
"It was a really bad day to go outside the reef," he said.

With that Hurricane flying by Aruba to the North I'm not surprised the water was rough. I wish someone would have warned them.

A couple more things, one of the photos shows Robyn standing behind a motorcycle. Wonder who that belongs to.

Also find it curious that Robyn's good friend, Christina, aka Sofia Parnicelli appears to be totally out of the picture now and may have been for a while, on fb, at the vigil, etc. She was right out front in the beginning when Robyn first disappeared. Yep, she tossed her long hair and shed 1/2 a tear :what: on national t.v., while she got her moment of fame "looking for Robyn" .... bashed RF because she went to Aruba and he didn't, then, wham!, freed up her apartment space of Robyn's personals (hey, I'm sure she needed the closet space:rolleyes:).
IDK, I'm just curious I guess, as since then, she seems to have just disappeared off the face of the earth when it comes to anything Robyn.

Any ideas anyone, Blueskies maybe?
I know... I'm bitter, cynical, and jaded..... what can I say??? TIA :seeya:

Hi Neesaki.

Christina Jones was involved with Robyn's vigil according to this article.

<snip>

"I would hate to think that for 364 days she has been suffering, so for me, I choose to believe that maybe she has passed and that maybe her spirit lives," said Christina Jones, Gardner's roommate, who helped to coordinate the vigil.

<snip>

On Wednesday evening, Gardner's relatives and friends focused instead on her life.

"We just wanted to do something that was less in-your-face media, but that really brought the community together," Jones said.

But the media showed up anyway, with television cameras filling one side of the gallery. On the other side was the small group of Gardner's family and friends who had gathered to celebrate her life.

Here's another article mentioning Christina Jones as a organizer of the vigil.

<snip>

Family and friends gathered inside a small Frederick, Md. art gallery Wednesday to mark Gardner's disappearance,*reports*CBS affiliate WUSA. Participants were*adamant*that Wednesday's service was not a memorial.

"The idea is to have a vigil for someone who is missing with the hopes that she's possibly still alive," said organizer and friend Christina Jones.

Oh, ok. I'm glad I'm wrong about that. Still, never trusted that woman, I have my own reasons that I won't elaborate on. But that's moo. And thanks Sapphire :).

Could be Christina's as she owned/owns a Harley.
