What "small foreign faction " would even use the phrase "use that good Southern common sense?"

I don't think either of them are reliable.

I know that. But you haven't told me WHY. Until that happens, shall I assume then that anything which doesn't agree with you is to be written off as unreliable?

If the FAMILY teased him about being southern, then someone from the FAMILY would have known this.

Right.

It was his voice in the ransom note and her hands. I can see it in my mind. She’s sitting there. We need paper, we need a note. He’s dictating and she’s doing. Like he’s almost snapping his fingers. She grabbed her notepad and her felt-tip pen. That is not her language. But the essence of her is there, like the percentages: “99% chance” and “100% chance.” That is how she talked because of her cancer or how you talk when you are around someone with cancer. And the phrase “that good southern common sense of yours.” John wasn’t from the South, but Patsy and Nedra always teased him about being from the South.—Linda Wilcox

I KNEW it was in there someplace!

I have a question Dave: Did the crime scene investigators go over any other bedroom besides Jon Benet's as a possible point of death or head wound? I was wondering if it is possible she got the head wound in Burke's bedroom. TIA

I can't say for sure, Becky, but I imagine they considered all of those possibilities. Personally, I don't put any stock in the idea that it happened in Burke's bedroom. Sorry.

Heyya Becky.

I can't remember where or if luminol, was used.

iirc, In the LS movie the assualt begins with a chase through the house, ending when the garotte is applied.

Not many details about how the crime scene techs divided the locations within the home, but there are photos of them removing many bags of 'evidence'.

So many details, available within all the tv/film recreations, and all those specifically selected details, which the authors have selected to convey their theories.

One thing that the movie PMPT made clear was just how quickly the house was released to the family (though the Rs themselves did not return). That yellow crime scene tape was taken down THAT night- with some LE being satisfied with just the search of the basement and JB's bedroom. The search was eventually continued, but we don't know how thorough it really was. And pretty quickly, the house was sold (to a group of "investors" - they were really R friend and lawyers) and all carpets were pulled up, wallpaper was stripped off and the interior of the then-empty house painted white all over. Who knows how much evidence was lost. No wonder we will never know exactly where she was killed.

Is anyone living in the house now?

Yes. It has been beautifully redecorated and the wineceller where JB's body was found has been walled up. The interior is totally unrecognizable from when the Rs lived there, even the basement. The house has changed hands a few times since JB lived there. One of the previous owners asked the town to change the address to a different house number because there were too many curiosity-seekers.
It has been for sale recently and was on the market for over a year. I don't know if it still for sale.

While you are OK with them bashing, strangling, violating her, covering up and lying, you just don't believe they would have taken the final step which would have completely separated them from the crime, because you say they wanted a 'nice corpse'. Nopey, nope, nope.

Murri, Patsy confirmed the 'nice corpse' theory when she remarked to Burke about how pretty JB looked in her coffin.

Shall we continue?

While I wait for any takers, I'll change tack.

I realize it's not often that I ask others for help, but does anyone know anything about this:

Seems that I've got a little competition!

Wow, Dave. He's an ordained minister at that! I don't think he realizes what he has let himself in for. I only read the one critique, but that was enough.
Had I not known that it wasn't you, when I started reading the info, I may have thought you had gotten published. Then it started talking about pre-planning and pre-meditated and I thought, naw, that wouldn't be Dave.

Danke Schoen!

I say good luck to him; he'll need it!

Close to it, beck! I've found one! Now I just need to cobble enough cash together.

Then it started talking about pre-planning and pre-meditated and I thought, naw, that wouldn't be Dave.

Nope, that is NOT me.

Not trying to be nosy, but are we talking mega-cash here? Just wondering if there may be a way to get the cash together and of course that would depend on the amount. TIA, Becky
