One thing we do know about Terri is that she is a CSI fan.

Now, in my mind that doesn't equate to being a criminal master-mind.

That said, it's been discussed if there have been any episodes resembling Kyron's case, where a child is taken from school or with numerous potential witnesses about, etc.

But now we have another redhead, who looks remarkably similar to Terri.

So I wonder...

What CSI episodes involve twins or look-alikes? I only watch the original, so I'm sure they've done episodes that fall into this category; I'll have to do a search. I wonder about the other CSI shows, too.

Well we know there was a real life case recently out of MI. Venus Stewart.

IMDB.com is a great place to look up tv shows, movies, and actors.

The CSI Las Vegas episodes are listed in chronological order by season and original air date:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0247082/episodes.

I don't recall any episodes from CSI Las Vegas that are exactly like the Kyron case though.

The 2 episodes that stick out in my mind are:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0534709/ "Justice Is Served"

where a mom drowns her daughter at an amusement park ride so she can be free of the burden of being a mom because she thinks her boyfriend doesn't want kids. It's the SODDI defense.

The other episode is:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0534744/ "Still Life"

where a mom says her kid was kidnapped at a park. Through investigating it turns out that she fakes the kidnapping and photoshops herself and some random kid in photos at home. The random kid is a regular visitor to the park in her neighborhood. The child is seen at the park and the real parents are brought in and it's DNA to show who the real parents are.

The mom who says her son was kidnapped is of course psychotic (whether her own real bio child died from a drug overdose or what isn't clear) but the mom is nuts She fakes a kidnapping to acquire a child.

I need to rewatch that episode to be sure of the ending - it's been a while since I watched that episode.

By the way, since there are three CSIs (Las Vegas, Miami, NY) , did TH list which CSI was her favorite on facebook?

She was widowed and her only child 'died' and she buried him in her back yard -- it was her neighbor's dog who unearthed the 'site' (burial) and it was the neighbor who tipped off investigators

Kaine Horman also revealed more information about his estranged wife, whom he filed a restraining order against in late June.
Terri Horman favored electronic communications, he said, such as texts, e-mail and Facebook. He also said she watched television shows such as "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and "Dexter."

Does anyone know of any episodes of either of these shows that could have been used as inspiration for this particular crime? I watched the first two seasons of Dexter, and remember that he disposed of his bodies by weighing them down in water. Have there ever been any episodes of CSI dealing with a school abduction? Using a grocery store as an alibi? Using the gym as an alibi? Hiring a landscaper to murder a spouse?

Sorry if I missed this being discussed elsewhere, or if it belongs in an existing thread. I'm new.

I've never heard of a Dexter other than Dexter's Laboratory on Cartoon Network. I'm only familiar with that one because my son sort of likes it, and its on tv when he is allowed to watch tv. And I can't imagine why any adult of sound mind would find it enjoyable.

My post from there, about an alleged abduction involving a kid not at school:

CSI (Las Vegas) Season 5 Episode 3 - Harvest

Woman (with lots of red hair, actually) goes to school to pick up her child.
Very impatiently waiting, honking the horn.

Teacher comes over and asks if something is wrong.

Mother asks what is taking the child so long as they have a doctor's appointment.

Teacher says child is not at school.

Mother says she has to be there, she saw her leave for school that morning.

Teacher says she hasn't been in any of her classes that day.

It is alleged that the child was abducted from outside a convenience store while she was with her sister.

The sister was driving a Red Mustang.

They have a gardener and a pool man.

They find the child's body and determine she was dead before she was reported kidnapped.

She was spotted from a helicopter, in a clearing with trees, they refer to it as the woods. There was a lot of power lines. A small hill with power poles right near the body.

While they search for other evidence where her body was found, they are walking through tall vegetation with trees around.

The area she was found is not as dense as near Skyline but does remind me of Sauvie Island.

They are suspicious of the mother apparently liking the other children more
than the murdered child. Possibly only using the murdered child to help save her favorite child, the son who had a terminal illness.

The blanket she was wrapped in match fibers in the house. The boot prints match the father's boots.

She was overdosed and died from cardio-pulmonary arrest. She died between midnight and 8am the day she was reported abducted in the afternoon. She was put in the trunk and there was marks on her back from the Dad's tripod.

She was wrapped up with her face covered and they point out that would help preserve evidence as well as indicate remorse, guilt and caring. At the same time it was made to look like a sexual assault, though there was none.

It ended up being the brother who killed her to save the girl from having to keep "saving" him, then the parents covered it up and the sister faked the kidnapping.

It is: CSI aka CSI Las Vegas - Season 5 Episode 3 - Harvest.

If anyone finds it somewhere that will play faster than this link...or has a shorter clip let me know. The school/convenience store scene is in the first couple minutes.

Thanks MsFacetious! I did a quick scan, but totally missed that thread. I'd say that makes this thread redundant.

OMG I'm going down if anyone I know goes missing. I watch CSI, Dexter, Law & Order, NCIS -- I even remember seeing those HBO forensic shows and I've talked about those definitely to friends and family! That was the first time I ever saw a human torso and I was traumatized.

Gawd I am screwed.

Yep, me too. My computer browser history and the book check-out history at the library would completely do me in. You'd think it would make me less suspicious of someone when this type of evidence is used (they googled that right before the crime!? wow, she's guilty!) - but no.

Does anyone know if that CSI episode is available online? I just checked hulu and it doesn't appear to have the las vegas spin off...

I watch dexter. This last season, which was september to december 09 was about a serial killer. In the last episodes the man would go into a public place, this one was an arcade, tell a 10 yr old boy that he was a police officer, and his parents had been hurt in a crash. Now the boys before were all buried under cement at new building constructions.

I doubt the show 'Dexter' would be the kind of show to give Terri a plot or motivation to do something to Kyron. As a matter of fact, if she is found to be the perp behind Kyron's disappearance and he is found deceased, and the MFH allegations are true: she'd be the kind of person that Dexter would gladly take take out of the gene pool if she isn't made to face her crimes and punishment.

Ok, on 2nd thought, looking at the show from that angle: that could be a valid prompt for Terri to carry out something.

Harvest is still on my mind that was to close to Kyron case.

I was watching old Criminal Mind today. And thought it was interesting theory.

A young boy who had disappeared a year ago turns up for sale by a child pornographer on an online auction. A former profiler who now heads the FBI's Innocent Images Unit asks Gideon and the BAU to help her save the boy's life.

thank you, I was going to mention this episode.
When I watched it, I got a sick feeling and wondered if Terri got an idea from that ... also Ward Weaver, an Oregon child abductor/rapist/murder buried his two young victims under concrete in his own back yard.

The CSI episode mentioned "Harvest" really is interesting ... the coincidences are uncanny
