It's such a weird spot to dump a suitcase, was it a rush job by someone who didn't even want their car spotted as they pulled over to dump it, or was it thrown from a moving car or truck? You'd think someone would take more time with a body to make sure it wasn't found. Unless they decided to simply do the bare minimum. I really think this was a task carried out by someone who was asked to do it, and didn't really want to.

at first , my opinion was that it looked like that the suitcase had been thrown out of a car as it looked so close to the side of the road . then i seen that police believe that the suitcase had been moved and gone through before the little girls remains were found .

What haunts me is the apparent difference in Karlie between the photographs. She looked happy and healthy in the first, the second she looks gaunt and withdrawn and just miserable. It must have been a huge reason that she up and left her hometown alone with a baby.

Tough for sex offenders in Cessnock jail By DAN PROUDMAN Chief Police Reporter March 6, 2012, 10:54 a.m.

Your not alone in watching the Bachelorette. I was team Sasha Michael to me was a walking say what you want to hear mannequin.

I suspected strongly that she would choose Sasha all along - their chemistry was just so obvious. But I still didn't like seeing the spoiler from DM. Part of the anticipation is waiting for the person to step out of the first car!

DM has had another bachelorette fail. This one is hilarious and not nearly as infuriating.

Anyway. How can I manage to make this on topic?

Well, even creepy, stalkerish DM has not managed to unearth any other photos of Karlie and Khandalyce. Good for the family for holding them close! They should lock their doors though because DM will resort to anything to get the photos they want for a story. Even if it's illegal.

I liked Richie, I felt that Sasha has the controlling macho gene. I hope it works out for her tho! (Hopelessly off topic)

excuse me in advance if someone already brought this up....

For quite a long time images of that quilt were all over social media and tv it was a key point to this case and that quilt was pretty distinct as was the recent image brought forward last week.. the person that provided the image of little Angel only came forward with it last week including the pink dress... im finding it hard to believe that allllllll that time it was all over the news and internet they missed it and only just came forward now. Not only that but didnt they also come forward and say something like "oh hey actually there has been a mother and daughter noone has seen for years maybe check to see its not them"... with it all over the news you would think that it would have triggered it off in that persons mind straight away.... UNLESS that person who has no provided photos could not do a thing until someone who they may have been afraid of was put away in jail.????? thoughts

my thoughts exactly , thrown from a vehicle of some sort from the passanger side by another person , maybe while the car was stationary on the bitumen so there was no tyre tracks / marks ??

According to the dash cam videos, it was exactly as they described.

Editing to add link.

Suitcase man was first seen in March holding a dark suitcase.

Dashcam from May showing a faded black suitcase:

Suitcase in July is extremely faded when it is officially discovered.

Police release the image of the dummy wearing the tutu and the black suitcase - we were all confused because of the colour. It turns out, it probably just faded a lot in the sun.

Thanks for the link. When I said a completely different colour, I understood the "suitcase" man's suit case was black (which to me, is a different colour than grey). The suitcase found in July I thought was grey. I personally don't think it would have faded so uniformly in the timeframe of a few months, especially over autumn/winter. I noticed also, that the cam videos were quite deceptive colour wise. On some shots, it appears blacker, on others, grey. Given the time stamp on the videos (which I don't know how accurate they are, but I am taking the timeframes directly before the "close up" shots, which didn't have date stamps on them, except for the - 24/5/2015, in which the suitcase appeared grey, the 12/6/2015 and 11/7/2015 appeared darker and blacker. I have since done some research on the net and found a grey Lanza suitcase similar to the one found (though not exactly the same design) which appears grey. However, in some further shots of the same bag that the seller took, it appears more black than grey. In other words, it appears the camera, lighting and sun/shadow have quite an impact on the perceived colour.

In any case, given the picture released by the police of the suitcase in which Kandalyce's body was found, the inner zipper stitching is grey. If it was originally black, I wouldn't expected it to have faded uniformly and consistently, given the zipper would have been closed for a period of time, or even if open, wouldn't all have been exposed, and the suitcase itself would have been moved around, meaning some surfaces would have been exposed to the sun, whereas others wouldn't. Given that, I'm still of the view that the suitcase was originally grey, and based on eye witnesses, the "suitcase" man's suitcase was black.

Clothing and a suitcase – a new version of which was also displayed by police today - were found along with the remains.

While the suitcase now appears a grey colour, it was originally black and has faded.

Police are also still seeking to identify a man seen in the area with a dark suitcase on both 13 April and 26 May.

There is never any mention of Karlie's father, only her stepfather whose surname was Povey. Perhaps she was known by his name but started using her birth father's name, or another name, as a rebellious act?

My husband grew up known by his step-father's name but was never adopted by him. When he went to get his licence he had to use his birth surname, his father's, as that is what is on his birth certificate. He was known by both surnames growing up depending on who knew him. Maybe Karlie was never formally adopted by her stepfather?

Some people are surprisingly oblivious to news. Even news that has received blanket coverage. (see: all the people who are shocked when they read about William Tyrrell for the first time and are like "why didn't I know about this" and I'm like... I truly have no idea) If I wasn't on my computer and/or phone all day I would never see the news as we don't have TV, I don't listen to the radio, and I don't read papers.

What or who is DM

I agree with you Panda.

omg !!! who is he ?????

He could have his identity suppressed :( we might not find out??? I hope that any identity suppression applied by the courts in past cases he's been involved with revoke that for this case though.

jus a note, if that suitcase had been there since feb/ march it could have faded considerably in the heat and sun. I am local to the Mallee and we get temperatures in the late 30s and 40s up until the mid Autumn, sometimes later. Couple that with the already 8 year old suitcase (assuming it was brand new wgen purchased) and I would believe it could have faded in that time. We only have to leave a piece of clothing in the back window of a car for 3 days and its totally bleached in our weather conditions.

Absolutely. When we were visiting family in that climate I tried hanging my black tshirt on the line and forgetting about it. Once! haha

Considering that the police specified that the suitcase was originally black and it faded, I don't know why people keep insisting that it was originally grey?

I personally think some fading could have happened before it was left on the highway, depending on where it was stored. And as I said earlier it doesn't make sense to me that suitcase man would have been seen twice in town, months apart, with the suitcase both times - surely if he wanted it to be found he would have just dragged it closer to the road, not taken it into town then taken it back only to replace it a few metres from its original position.
