It’s hard to imagine what was going though her head that lunchtime as I assume the plan was to murder all 5 Dinner guests?!

If you are using Death Cap in a meal the likely outcome is death. It obviously escalated beyond just trying to bump her husband off in that final meal as she would of had ample opportunity to change plans when her ex cancelled.

I hope he did legally record that conversation. That would be so helpful. Imo.
IMO I gleaned from the program, "Investigation", that Erin could have dumped the dehydrator at the tip on the Saturday morning before the lunch as it was reported on that program that one of the workers said he was not working that day - "that day" was that Saturday.

Today I started wondering about whether Erin had the children in the car that morning before she dropped them off at the movies or whether they were old enough to be left at home by themselves. If they were in her car when she disposed of the dehydrator, could they have told their father if one of them had a mobile phone? - hence he decided not to attend at the last minute and went to the police instead but it was too late to warn his parents then? I think Simon's Christian beliefs may have stopped him from accusing Erin of poisoning him earlier as he didn't have any evidence. MOO

"There were times he had felt... a bit off and it coincided when he spent time with her."

Feeling 'a bit off' is quite different from the usual symptoms of food poisoning such as frequent vomiting and diarrhea.

Seems to me SP was a bit slow to come around to suspecting that he'd been poisoned the first two times. Probably only put two and two together when he was hospitalized, or maybe it had to be suggested to him by a friend. Who knows?

AFAIK the children were 11 and 13 at the time of the beef Wellington lunch incident….

Victorian detectives and federal police converged on her isolated property, searching her garage and car with the help of specialist technology detection dogs trained in sniffing out things like hidden phones and memory cards

"I can not think of another investigation that has generated this level of media and public interest. Not only here in Victoria, but nationally and internationally," Thomas said

Patterson’s red car was also searched several times.

I can think of only one other case ….. but no one has been arrested in the case that I’m thinking of.

IMO there are two extremely high profile cases being investigated right now in Australia. It’s a journalists dream, and a nightmare for the alleged victims.

All imho

Now she has been charged can we talk about the creepy weird wall in her home the tradie shared??
I got big problems with this stuff.
It is super disturbing and I highly suspect Erin wrote that wall.

my speculation only

Yes I was uncomfortable with the death wall as it was nicknamed.

It came across quite creepy to me but others thought it appeared normal so maybe im in the minority who found it odd.

I'm not sure how they would have evidence of the Simon Patterson alleged poisonings, given the elapsed time and also AFAIK no reports of any police involvement in relation to those events at the times.

Police often lay numerous charges at the outset and by the time a case hits court they will sometimes drop/downgrade some charges -- sometimes as the result of a deal to plead guilty on the remaining charges.
There will hospital reports.
Bet its 100% same symptoms even if there is no blood or tox records, what you present to emergency with is finely detailed and documented.

There are two aspects since the beginning of this case that I am mystified about:

1. On what basis were the Pattersons and Wilkinsons invited to the lunch?

2. What was Erin's motive for murdering them?

From the DM back on 4 September:

A person claiming to be a former friend of the 46-year old spilled the beans on the Leongatha stay-at-home mum on a true crime online forum.

. . .

'She's meticulous and very smart,' the person stated. 'Her whole family are extremely smart people.'

. . .

In another message, Erin seemingly took aim at Simon himself, attacking the engineer for failing to do enough housework.

'My husband has no idea we have a cleaner come. I love it,' Erin allegedly posted while the couple were still together.

'Now I don't resent the fact that he never helps me with anything because I'm not doing the big jobs either... now all I have to resent him over are the nightly dishes.'

. . .

The person claimed she had only ever engaged with Erin online, with a planned dinner never going ahead.

'We had a very tight group. It was more intimate than normal due to our shared fascination with crime,' the person wrote.

'We thought we knew her deeply but we are now discovering that a lot of her life was very secretive ... EP didn't have any other friends than this close circle groups.

'You have to imagine the most extreme introvert you have ever met. That is EP. Reclusive. Only online friends.'

. . .

The friend disputed previous reports Erin had been keen to get back together with her deeply religious husband, claiming she had initiated the split.

She's an atheist as far as I know ... She was very unhappy in her marriage and felt like a single parent. At the time I thought it was normal 'my husband isn't pulling his weight ' type commentary,' the friend stated.

Who supposedly wrote all of that?

Given that EP had the role of proofreader/editor of The Burra Flyer newsletter, I would not expect her to make grammatical howlers like "your dead".
THE KIDS...(AHEM!!)...side eye....
Someone of unsound mind doesn't make logical decisions or make sense.... just as easily as they can ......

some areas of their life and thought patterns function clearly.....other areas jumbled chaos.

Just like that wall.
The fact some of the people she killed make mention to the wall as dead....is a big red flag.IMO
