Just thinking out loud, but I bet this guy (the accused) has shown some signs of antisocial behaviour prior to this crime. I would love to know more about his family history.

The person who committed this gruesome crime, IMO, has no conscience, so blending in and trying to act normal afterwards, is not hard to believe.

I wasn't surprised to read:

The thin youth appeared calm during the short hearing but many of the victim's relatives wept or sobbed.

He did not apply for bail and his name and image were suppressed after an application from prosecutor Rebecca Lawley.

Mr Harrap remanded him in custody until next Wednesday when there will be more legal argument about what further details can be released.

As the youth was led away, one man shouted out: 'Rot in hell you little prick.'

Please, please give us answers, we are not going to stop speculating on here!

Anyone have an idea what time tomorrows meeting is?

I love reading everyone's opinion, theory, explanation etc and I know we are all different. But I am missing something because I don't care about how much education he had, where he came from, or how smart or dumb he was. To me that is all related to sentencing. To suggest only low income people or less educated folks commit heinous crimes is incorrect. NOW I am not saying people are wrong, we are all in this together trying to dissect the case(maybe we never will?) But to me the reasons behind why, pale into insignificance when it comes to the end result. I say this with respect and hope I am not stepping on toes in doing so.

He was invited and he was there with no alterations,
If a gang of kids were threatening you would you not stand up for yourself?
A small town, local cop knows everyone, can you see why they let things slide? puzzle it together for yourself

Nowhere in this conversation did I see someone threaten the accused. The conversation appeared to show a status update that had no threats or anything, it was very vague showing this person not liking being caught in the middle of the dispute. Then it looks like the accused has commented with something not nice to which the person that was being threatened replied and it went back and forth a few times, somewhere in there this person was threatened which then led to another joining the accused in threatening this person and then his brother jumped in with more threats and another local popped in to say that they would also back them up.

Looked very one sided as far as threats go to me.

I believe that is partly why we are all so curious and wondering if the police have the right person - because he HASN'T exhibited any sort of anti-social behaviour.

In fact, by his sensible, drug-free, hard working lifestyle, he actually seems far less anti-social than a lot of his peers.

OK, let's take a look at antisocial personality disorder http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antisocial_personality_disorder

Characteristics of people with antisocial personality disorder may include:[2]

  • Persistent lying or stealing
  • Apparent lack of remorse[3] or empathy for others
  • Cruelty to animals[4]
  • Poor behavioral controls — expressions of irritability, annoyance, impatience, threats, aggression, and verbal abuse; inadequate control of anger and temper
  • A history of childhood conduct disorder
  • Recurring difficulties with the law
  • Promiscuity
  • Tendency to violate the boundaries and rights of others
  • Aggressive, often violent behavior; prone to getting involved in fights
  • Inability to tolerate boredom
  • Disregard for right and wrong
  • Poor or abusive relationships
  • Irresponsible work behavior
  • Disregard for safety

You have just done a reading on me...well back at his age...scary

LOL....I actually don't think the accused fits APD, but yeah......know the feeling!

Now didnt someone on here say that CR and the accused were 'besties' or very good friends still after they were no longer in a public romanitc relationship? I do believe i read that but that was quite some time ago in these threads.

If they were such good friends i can not see why he didnt show some emotion in the court? If you were accused of killing a good friend and their parents and were totally 100% innocent wouldn't you be pissed off you were arrested and dragged to court and you would have been sad or showed some emotion in court if you had genuinely done nothing wrong?????

Aussiecriminals not everyone will be a killer that displays those traits and also someone can kill that only have a few very minor set of those traits.

Example my 23 year old is an extreme introvert, he just doesn't feel comfortable around people. He isn't anti social just very shy. The doctor said he will come out of it one day. A couple of things happened to him to not trust strangers is why he is like this. He is normal as can be, doesn't get upset, keeps his room clean, talks to us openly, but get him in a mall and it is almost like he gets in a panic mode and will go wait out in the car for us.

Maybe he thinks she deserved it, and her parents were killed in self defense, so no reason to have remorse for those two. My bet he feels justified.

Or alternatively he is just used to hiding his feelings.

MOO---No No, Mrs G, I think he has been dreaming of doing it for years, it is part of him, he lived and breathed that fantasy each night in bed while trying to go to sleep. For some reason he couldn't hold it back. He acted on it, impulsively which is why he didn't get rid of evidence...he said heck with it...that is where the impulse came in.

All of this speculation is confusing and I do a lot of it in my own head. For sure with more details and knowledge hopefully we will all find out what the truth is. I have my doubts as well about the accused particularly after reading the details about the funeral.

I really hope that we all get to know what did go on but I have my doubts about that as well.

At least the victims will be laid to rest on Friday as it would have been hell for the family and friends to not have somewhere to go visit. Although I am sure that their hell will go on for a very long time. So unfair! My thoughts and heart go out to them. Rest in Peace. Time does have a way of healing - it is just so unfair in that healing time. No-one can take away those memories they are your to keep.

Sorry I know this is not the memorial site - could not help it. It has touched so many.

Just as a note, did I get the right hearing tomorrow anybody?

Hey Lera thanks for putting it into context, I get that entirely. cheers

Stabbing a person is a much more intimate killing than say, shooting. Add dismemberment and the posing and I think this person not only had an antisocial personality, but a fantasy about doing this for a long time. I'm thankful he was caught.

LOL heck all of us I think could have fit in at least one of those category's one time in our life.

Natural born killer comes to my mind, I think he never thought his first kill would be CR while he has been fantasizing it for years. He knew he was going to, but he knew he wasn't ready. Something came over him (impulse) and he went crazy with his fantasy.

Oh no! Not another dismemberment case...

We just went thru dear Zahra's discovery, and then the 3 (including an 11 year old) in OH. What a world. :(
