Tomorrow night - @9NewsAUS has obtained the nearly 20 minute long file of CCTV evidence against Marcelo Santoro, accused of killing Sydney businesswoman Cecilia Haddad before fleeing to Brazil. See the chilling vision at 6pm Monday.

You are GOLD Morrisa for keeping the fires burning.
Thanx for this.
20 minutes of good video should be enough hopefully.
I read someone saw him throw the keys off the bridge so there’s some witnesses out there as well.

This file is now in the hands of Brazilian authorities who will likely try Santoro in a Rio De Janeiro court for the charge of “femicide” - killing a woman, because she’s a woman.

The footage fills a lot of gaps between the time of Cecilia's disappearance and her alleged killer Santoro heading to the airport to flee to his homeland of Brazil.

Accused killer, Marcelo Santoro, has been led by armed guards into Rio’s Federal Court. A jury of seven will decide if he is convicted, or acquitted of strangling his former partner, Cecilia Haddad, and dumping her body in the Lane Cove River.

In a major blow to this case, Santoro has fired his lawyer. The trial - for now - halted. The three Australian officers who traveled here to Rio to give evidence will need to return down the track. Cecilia’s family tell me they are devastated.
@9NewsAUS

His trial, which began yesterday local time, was delayed for several months earlier this year after Santoro told the court he had sacked his defence team.
Australian police are giving evidence at the trial, with Detective Inspector John Edwards from the New South Wales Homicide Squad taking the stand for several hours overnight.
A second Australian investigator is also set to provide evidence over the coming days.
The case is being heard in Rio as Brazil and Australia have no extradition agreement, and if convicted and sentenced to jail, Santoro will serve no time in Australia.

Santoro said he entered Haddad's apartment without her permission, and the pair got into an argument.
He said he wanted to shut her up, grabbed her neck, and pressed very strongly until she fell into his arms.

In the Brazilian judicial process, the confession does not lead directly to sentencing.
A jury of seven people will continue to hear evidence until they have reached a verdict over a two-day process.
