He actually goes to court on Wed 25th - tomorrow is Tues and only the 24th

Interesting post with photographs from SD on Facebook on 8 May 2016. "Just exploring all along Kalamunda and Mundaring Weir".

May be nothing in it. Could have been with a friend. Vehicle appears to be a large off road type with a bumper bar.

However, if this was a trip with BE, could be very significant and worth WAPOL asking the question.

Could the car be a Telstra vehicle?

Ill really start to ramp up the pictures as the case gets going. Give it time to gain momentum.

Soooooo IMO the alleged CSK BRE chose Claremont as his hunting grounds because:

1) Claremont was throbbing suburban night spot.
2) The Conti, CBV and various restaurants in central Claremont.
3) Ensured a plethora of late night walkers heading to their car or trying to catch cabs.
4) Punters would descend upon Claremont after midnight from 6 or more pubs in neighbouring suburbs and local parties.
5) Local Claremont Police Station operated business hours only. No LE in area.
6) Taxi's were notoriously hard to catch in Claremont, callouts took forever, and other people stole pre-ordered cabs.
7) Women generally higher socio economic status in this area, and am guessing CSK had his own prejudices about this.
8) He was a huge footy fan and hated Claremont Football Club.
9) This hatred generalised to all of the Claremont area, its residents and visitors.
10) He chose female victims socialising in Claremont to attack the core of the community.
11) Previous attacks eg Huntingdale assault were warm-ups to the 'big game'!
12) CSK's 'big game' - kill women from Claremont, and do it well, leaving no trace or clues.

Hello All - I am a newbie so please excuse me if it takes me a little while to learn how to post etc.

Voodoosoll76 mentions (link and extract below) that Lisa Brown went to same Primary School as BE and also that Kerry Turner's Sister worked in a Gosnells Pharmacy - which would be close to where BE lived. Is it possible he may have met Kerry Turner through her sister??

I can also say that Lisa Brown who disappeared from Perth City in 1998 also attended Huntingdale ps- she was in my younger sisters year.
In early 1991 my first pt job in a Gosnells pharmacy- I worked with Kerry Turners sister- just prior to her murder....

Must be a bit unnerving for you all to find out who he is and how close by he's been all that time, relieved too they have arrested someone. I think quite possible the girls had met him at some stage. Maybe even all of them?

There are a lot of presumptions here

why would a teenager who's family lived on an acreage, with a holiday home up the road from Mandurah, who's father had a decent job develop a deep seated resentment against Claremont per ce. By the time he had moved up from stealing underwear, entering houses, attacking/raping, attacking/raping and killing, the Claremont strip was easier to negotiate at night than say Northbridge and for whatever reason an easier place to pick up/ pick out victims.

Thanks for posting this newspaper front page article #tiff ive never seen it has anyone else ?

these are zoomed in snippets from the newspaper . I was led to believe by the majority of sleuths on WS etc that jane didnt hitchhike and there were many false leads ?

.
They're good finds. Someone else posted a clip stating Jane was seen staggering and trying to hitch a lift. She didn't look drunk to me in the cctv. Could have been her, maybe she timed her walk off to coincide with someone she fancied knocking off work at he pub? Knew he'd drive past and see her?

She never looked drunk or tipsy in any of the footage - IMO. She seemed quite together.

Yes all presumptions - as I didn't have tea and biscuits with the alleged CSK before his arrest!!!

Please note: I did say "IMO", so therefore I can guess CSK's motives according to what I think, and I never said they were based in fact.

FYI: I am a Perth local who's very familiar with Claremont area and Perth night life scene across many different areas.

Northbridge typically was a higher crime area (re: night time attacks on pedestrians type of crimes) and a very busy night spot with lots of police patrolling. Northbridge had gangs, drug users, people living off the street etc. Claremont was quieter suburban area with no gang violence, no street dwellers, and generally no real street crime. A few drunken fights here 'n' there but nothing too worrisome until January 1996.

Yes Claremont was/is easier to negotiate with many easy exits away from the area, and lots of places to hide - and I forgot to add these reasons to my list. thanks :)

Gosnells and Huntingdale were not on the same socio-economic scale as Claremont and its surrounding areas that were/are some of Perth's most expensive and 'elite' suburbs. Probably risking my life here saying this - but there's no comparison between the two areas!! Entirely different ends of the scale. So its not too much of a stretch to imagine a young man from Huntingdale/Gosnells area feeling envious or jealous about the 'wealth' in the Claremont area, and have this turn into a larger hatred for what ever reasons over the years. There could be many reasons. Could have been the footy reason. Or BRE could have been rejected once or numerous times from women who live in Claremont. Who knows! I'm just throwing ideas out to sleuthers!

13) Alternative pub/nightclub districts (eg Northbridge or Freo) had more street crime therefore more cops.
14) Northbridge and Freo areas night-time traffic was notoriously slow due to people 'bog-lapping' in their hotted-up cars, and lots of people walking about holding up traffic as they drunkenly crossed roads. Therefore no quick escape routes in a car unless CSK stalked on fringes of these areas.
15) Claremont CBV/Conti area had easy access in a car, lots of parking, very little traffic, with many hiding spots and escape options by car.

His psychopathy is interesting in that he must have known how high he'd upped the ante when Sarah went missing. And he did it again, twice at least. That's a pretty big FU.

I think Jane looked together too, but its hard to say because she didn't move around much. If she was walking down the street she may have looked like she was staggering, especially if she was tripping over bumps on the footpath, as street lights weren't that great back in late 90's.

Jane's reaction to MM could either be:
a) minor familiarity b/c she met him before
b) a response to some funny pick-up line
c) a drunken nervous laugh to something MM said on his approach.

If Jane knew MM reasonably well they would probably have kissed each other's cheeks in greeting or gave a quick hug.

If Jane was interested in MM romantically we would probably see some light physical contact eg quick pat on a shoulder or quick hand holding etc, and a reduction of the distance between the two of them. If a woman is romantically interested in a man, there are subtle movements and body language. Minor flirting etc. Jane probably would have moved the jacket away from the front of her body if she was keen on MM, as the jacket acts as a physical "barrier" between the two of them, or anyone else that approaches JAne.

Jane keeps her jacket and arms folded across her body, which is either just a comfy way to hold her jacket, or could be indicative of protective and closed off body language.

I think MM is interested in Jane.
I don't think Jane is interested in MM

I did see that you said IMO, and I asked what I thought was a reasonable question. I also have lived in Perth for decades, as I have said on an earlier post my sons went to school at the same time.

I just feel that a lot of time, words and effort is being wasted on 'why Claremont' your points 7,8,9, and 10 imply a thought process involving a grudge developed by the POI over a period of time. IMO Claremont was where he was offending at that given time. It was somewhere else before and somewhere else after.

Jan from WA - or J.A.N. from WA! Hi
All valid points you make.

I will add though, when CSK attacked SS he truly hit the SK jackpot!!! The family and friends' search efforts were huge, as you know, nothing like Perth had seen before. If the CSK serial killer hadn't sort out notoriety before, well he was certainly getting it!.

Maybe the CSK liked his new found fame, so he allegedly struck in Claremont twice and thrice! BINGO! The alleged perp BRE was now a bonafide SK! And quite a famous one too! World wide even! Not bad for a guy from Gozzie! (allegedly)

And the points re hating Claremont because of the Claremont footy team was an extension of posts by sleuthing-footbt-fans earlier this evening who reminded me of the success of the Claremont team in the 90's.

I will add that SK'ing compared to walking into a home in Huntingdale, or leaving a victim 'for dead' in KK cemetery takes a lot more planning and execution. So presumably the alleged perp BRE preplanned and executed it to a T.

Yes he hit the jackpot notoriety wise but was that then his downfall as that was the catalyst for the unprecedented level of investigation, the cold case that was always really just simmering.

Looking at the CCTV footage, it would appear that the frame with (seemingly) JR's mouth wide open is the last frame captured and recorded from that camera before the vision switched, so we don't see the entire interaction, IMO.

That particular contiguous shot is approximately 45 individual frames over about 13 seconds. As an aside, there are only two other shots that run for the same length of time of all the footage released.
