Very much adjacent to Lake Claremont. Original entrance is now Narla Rd & Swanway Cres.

Here is an anim:

Thankyou Wyke! Very helpful - shows that the area around Lakeway Drive-in Theatre was very deserted. There is also a couple of buildings on the site.

The below link shown previously also indicates that the Lakeside Drive-In was vacant from 1985.

I think there is a possibility that CSK used this vacant Drive-In site, given the Cottesloe attack. Therefore, given the closeness to Lake Claremont, it could be convenient to utilise the lake, if panicked, first victim etc.

1999 Kalgoorlie ,Western Australias fifth largest city. Lisa Govann vanishes from the front of the Foundry Hotel after arriving there by taxi from Safari Nightclub at 5.am.
Huge drinking culture in Kalgoorlie at the time , nothing for workers at the Mines on their way to work in the morning seeing their inebriated workmates on other rosters spilling out onto the street from Safaris and heading to a couple of the morning" early opener " pubs to keep the party happening.
The Foundry Hotel, Kalgoorlies roughest Pub , nicknamed the "Swinging Arms" for the frequent brawling taking palce there, very popular Friday Afternoon explicit strip shows a long standing feature for the Towns male blue collar workers.
Difficulties with Taxis in Kalgoorlie very similar to Perth. Hard to get at peak times, lots of que jumping, very hard to call, long waits at around 6-7 am when day shift /night shift swap over.
Security footage reported to exist of several male persons LG was interacting with at Safaris Nightclub earlier that night.
IMO a possible fit for the CSK m.o.

Is there any evidence that BRE was in Kalgoorlie at the time or at any time for that matter?

He's probably not talking because as it stands he's maintaining his innocence. Which he'll probably continue to do throughout his trial and beyond, irregardless of what he is found, by the legal process, to be.

I don't think he would admit guilt because of a) his narc/psychopath nature and b) his stepdaughter.

Do you have intimate knowledge of BRE and or a psychology degree to make such a diagnosis? Just a legitimate question to try and maintain facts in this thread.

There were articles back in 2015 (and earlier)indicating they had new leads in the CSK case and new technology to test evidence that they had from the crimes.

BRE would have been following these stories. He would have been getting worried..maybe drinking more..acting irritable and snappy at people. I dont doubt these things added to his wife leaving.
I do however have doubts he knew they were onto him. The police wouldn't have wanted to scare him into doing anything stupid while they gathered all the evidence they needed for a (hopefully ) airtight case.

I find it interesting BRE friends were so quick to abandon him when he was arrested. It's like they didn't find it hard to believe. Most people's friends and family would not abandon someone so fast!
It is interesting his SD has now removed herself from his friends also. Maybe she is now doubting his innocence?
Maybe she is simply sick of people theorizing over her and why she is still his supporter

Good point, IF BRE is the CSK then the police will have his browser searches and the CSK searches would be retrievable and possibley add circumstantial evidence to the case. Let us watch this space.

Not if he has used TOR or something similar.

Comments made about tapping the pay phones from either the exchange or a Telstra pillar don't really meet the common sense test.
Where is the local exchange from the area the girls were abducted from, to access an exchange after hours would activate an alarm to a 24 hour monitored security service and they would expect a call or send out police if they didn't receive that call. Opening a Telstra pillar or pit in the middle of the night would be extremely suspicious and takes time...once again where would the one be located that you think he used?
<modsnip>

And not only that. The fact is that out of 4 victims including the KK Cemetery victim only one of them (SS) is known to have used the phone at all. For mine this puts the 'phone tapping' theory to bed.

There was someone who posted that they were with BRE in Kalgoorlie, working at that time.

And unfortunately that person posted at a later time that everything they had said under 3 usernames (including the one they used for the Kalgoorlie claims) was a lie and warned everyone not to believe everything they read.

Last post for today as have to do some work :)

Thought I would mention that in the late 80's and the 90's Club Bay View had a Members section - you could only go into this area if you either were a member or friend of a member (a certain amount of guest passes) - this area was the 'place to be', many drinking cocktails, in particular 'Flaming Lamborghinis' which the bar was renowned for. There were two sections of the club - one members, one non-members. There was glass partitioning separating the two (bit of 'us & them' scenario).

Just a couple of thoughts below:

Was BE a Member or friend of a Member?
Did BE get turned away from Members and upset about it - this happened to many people.
Did Club Bay View provide any video to police as there was a camera at the main door and entry to Members section?

I didn't see that poster say they were lying - how bloody disappointing.

(I'm a forum lurker since BRE arrest. Was about 12 at time of CSK killings but remember the news coverage vividly. Goes without saying that I hope the cops have their man and enough evidence to put him away).

Interestingly, that person had a distinct and recurring writing style, with no full stops.

Wow, I missed that revealing posting. Why would someone do that? How cruel for her family and friends to think that maybe the CSK was involved. Lisa's death has always been linked to Club Deroes bikie gang in Kalgoorlie. http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/wes...y/news-story/5c3654df079a092ed9f3a29960b8844e

Hi folks, long time guest now registered...
Channel 7 news advertised an "exclusive interview" tonight about CSK but i got home too late and missed it. Didn't anyone see it? Trying to find it online but no luck as yet...

Yep. Really don't know what the reasoning was to do this but I think there's a long history of people trying to derail this forum.

Interestingly, that person had a distinct and recurring writing style, with no full stops.

I read the messages about Kalgoorlie while I was on the hop. I wanted to let people know about the admissions of the poster so they didn't waste their time discussing it so posted quickly. Just had a few minutes to sit down and re-read my post and yes, you're right, there are no full stops in it. I'm assuming, possibly incorrectly, that perhaps you think I am the same person who posted the misleading Kalgoorlie material. I can assure you I'm not. Feel free to check my profile and perhaps read some of my previous posts. I'm sure you'll realise it isn't me. If I've misinterpreted your message I'm sorry. Just wanted to clarify things.

Honestly, what kind of window licking dribbler posts fabricated stories on a thread like this? If you're reading this mate, seek help.

I think his posts were all deleted, so you had to be quick to see them. But can vouch that's what was written.

The enormous irony in this and what makes this cases one of the most fascinating you will ever see is that the (later proven wrongful) mallard conviction got Caporn(Detective) the promotion that got him the lead on the CSK case.

He jumped ship just before the Corruption and Crime Commission began an investigation. Believe it or not, he has resurfaced as the head of Fire and Emergency Services for his, ahem, leadership and management expertise in the police force. I kid you not.

No! Not at all! I had to post something cryptic so it was allowed on site. There is a longstanding person who uses the same style as the person who lied. Not you, I have found your input really good. I am sorry for the confusion.
