Appearing to be a nice guy means nothing, I'm sure A LOT of people who knew BRE would have said the exact same thing about him before he was named "He seems to be a good guy. Family man who until recently volunteered with little athletics". everything else is spot on, there is nothing whatsoever to suggest his brother had anything to do with this and he should never be judged by what his brother has done.

Very true. Was just pointing out that he hadn't done anything to warrant suspicion, and in the absence of evidence it was best to assume he was a good guy.

There is no evidence to suggest BRE worked with someone else. Not really fair to cast judgement on his brother without any evidence. He seems to be a good guy. Family man who until recently worked in nursing in Aboriginal communities up north. The majority of serial killers have siblings that are not psychopaths, would be wrong to drag him into this just because they are siblings.

I didn't say he was working with home. The question was if BRE was set up so I put up the option and that someone with similar DNA could have been the one.

I am open to all ideas. Anything is possible.
My problem is-if police wanted to frame someone-why not do it when they were so convinced it was LW for several years?
Why wait 2 decades and charge a totally new and never mentioned man who seems to have no previous criminal record?
IF they have the wrong man here..I'm doubtful it is them who have set anything up

Sorry. I don't buy that. Back in those days (even now) chicks go with random guys all the time.
CG just returned from a HITCHHIKING holiday.

He wasn't clever. He was a random attacker. Notoriously hard to solve. He was lucky.

Fair enough, just a theory.

I totally agree, and then they had Mark dixie, after murdering a girl in the UK around the same age he would have made a perfect scapegoat. Not to mention any number of other violent offenders in and around Perth over the years. The idea of BRE a seemingly normal guy no one ever knew about being framed is absurd.

As for the reasoning behind why WAPOL have remained tight lipped since the arrest, well basically, they are not a media agency. They have better things to do like helping build a case against an accused serial killer than drip feeding information to the gawking eyes of the public.

If this was the first time in the history of policing that the police have held a press conference and announced an arrest, given some info as to how and why the arrest occurred and then went silent then you could question as to why, but this is very normal behavior.

The police don't care about convincing us of BRE's guilt, they only care about the jury or judge which at the moment will be their absolute priority.

IMO. that would of been something the WAPOL would of made a big thing of, given how vocal they were at the commencement of the arrest and subsequent charge.

they were also very open with all of the potential (and some will say proven) DNA evidence they had at the beginning, why the sudden silence? and I get that they are not obligated to tell the public anything, but that didn't stop them saying a whole heap at the beginning.IMO

Maybe WAPOL released more info at the beginning (and by beginning I think you mean 'the arrest of BRE' as being the beginning) because WAPOL realised that MSM and the public would be extremely vocal if WAPOL didn't provide SOME info how the link was made between the accused BRE and the charges.

IMO WAPOL's plan was to realise only a tiny bit of info, enough to quieten the minds of the masses. Just enough info that people who are not deeply interested in the case would just say - 'yeh cool the police got their man'.

But IMO, those of us here on WS and others who are deeply invested in the case have sat back, analysed WAPOL media releases, analysed MSM articles, and anything else we can get our hands on - then sat back and said - 'WTF this doesn't make sense?......something is missing???'

Plus IMO any legal teams would've hush hushed any further media releases to protect the integrity of the case.

Well they seem to use us when they need us. They didn't mind being a media circus when they wrongly convicted Williams.

We all suffered back then and we deserve answers. It's not about their ego. They're not celebrities working on secret stuff like some of them like to think.

They don't work for the media. They work for us and they need to remember that.

Hey do you have a MSM link for your claim that CG had been on a hitch-hiking holiday?

IMO, CG didn't need to hitch-hike while on holidays since she would've been able to afford travel expenses and decent modes of transport being a lawyer.

Fair enough, just a theory.
It's all just theories I guess. But there's so much hype about CG being too smart to hitchhike. Most people who hitch hike don't get murdered.

I didn't mean to sound aggressive. Soz

WAPOL have been very quiet in regards to this case since the LW fiasco. They refused to confirm or deny any of Bret Christians articles in The Post that linked the KK case or the car fibres. Apart from the LW fiasco the other main reason is Lloyd Rainey being named in the media as "prime and only suspect" was a disaster so in my opinion they've learnt their lessons.

I don't know if the alleged CSK BRE is in fact the CSK but if he or someone else is doesn't "I can't believe it was him" fit the profile that they've talked about all along - not a devil with horns but seemingly a regular guy.

Hi trueblue - i think they had to say something when the arrest was made to settle some of the fear that has always been bubbling under the surface after it was publicly stated many times and over many years that a sk was in the community.

What better way to calm fears and pressures from the govt, media and community then to publicly state that there was conclusive proof through DNA (and other evidence) that had led them to the alleged csk.

Now it is a matter of the police locking down further information to continue to build their case and rule out any other crimes that may or may not be related.

Whatever the reason - the murder of CG and JR has never been far from people's mind, nor has the KK rape (which was also linked).

Now the thing that is concerning people is what has happened to and where is SS and if the police have to keep investigation details private to bring her home and provide closure to her family and friends, unfortunately that is the way things have to be.

All of the above is my opinion.

I understand wanting more info because so do I, but comparing what has been released now versus during the time LW was prime suspect is a little unfair, you're comparing a 3 month time period to that of over a decade of news reports.

Also what we might consider to be worth revealing to us could also be considered as evidence by police and to use an analogy you're not going to lay all your cards on the table before the poker game has even started. Once this trial gets underway we will get more media coverage than we could hope for!

I completely understand. I just hope the trial is televised. And if there is no trial, that it all comes out anyway.

It appears they had the bones i.e. the Kimono, DNA, fibres etc but they didn't have any flesh as in history, apparent personality, examples of previous concerning behaviour (unreported), relationships that his family did not know about. The initial release of information would have set off discussions amongst those that have and do know him and a deluge of calls and contacts with WAPOL. Fact accompli so no more releases.

Trueblue,

Do you have an opinion on the Mystery Man in the CCTV footage? Do you think it might be BE?

I can't think of any trials I have seen televised in Australia. Do we even do that here? I thought that was an American thing.
We usually get crappy drawings from a sketch artist and a basic rundown of the day's highlights.
