if you look at the last names associated with her book chapter writing, if you look at her "team mates" in that marathon stuff there are some there. None of them appear to have publicly commented except for the son of one of those mates. but apparently discussion is lively on twitter...i don't have it. I have searched also trying to use her maiden name. using her everyday use first name is so full of a celebrity that it is difficult to find. I also find it interesting that when she first was reported as soon as i googled her husband he was all over the page..but now he is not so prominent and i could only find him using a few terms together. I maybe just paranoid but it is weird...i usually at least get ancestry stuff

A couple of people have posted on SM to please share as this is my friend ect

True, there are some who think if a person has more than one drink a night or a bottle of wine on a weekend they are an alcoholic.

Alcoholics can be high functioning.

I live with one - & he's a medical specialist. very high functioning (during the day mon-fri). Thank god he chose one of the only medial professions that aren't on call! I often wonder if that's why he chose it?

thanks for that, Potr... I did expect real women , or men, family or friends to make some sort of appeal, since it is claimed that the husband is distraught.. . usually, someone else steps in. I don't twit , either, but she is missing out in holiday land location, not generally the area of internet for all.

This may sound off, but why hasn't he posted a reward for info, since it is now 6 days, nearly 7.......? this family has a lot of collateral, a lot of equity and not shy about advertising themselves as such, ( the properties, the private schooling stuff, etc ) so why the reluctance to bung up the promise of a couple of hundred thou to get things started?.. a bit of a whip around among family and business colleagues should raise that in no time flat, should any info turn up that leads to her discovery.

:welcome: vanburger... that is a point I had not considered... that there is perhaps a 'pear shaped' event going on in the Curry outfit that is below the radar.. on the surface, there is the great life, the big house in SH, the holiday house in AI, the 3 nice kiddies, the executive husband, the marathon running wife, with the scatter gun approach to community opinions, the nice neighbors..... .......

and keeping up that façade would be exhausting, as well as reading everyone else's good times, ( which they may be fantasising about also ) on FB.. that s a hard life to lead...

Your post had me thinking Troops. Keeping up appearances? Elisa might be a perfectionist and it would upset her if a recent unflattering full body photo was made public? Would a husband make that decision when his wife's life could be at stake? Surely the police should have asked for several pictures, Elisa in a running outfit the most obvious and important one!
She's been described as having an athletic body. Could this be what tipped her over the edge, depression compounded by a poor body image after a slight gain in weight? It's common with women who have eating disorders, not that I'm saying any of this applies to Elisa but just more food for thought. This thought leads to her taking her own life though. :(
It also doesn't paint a flattering picture of Mr Curry if he's that superficial in a crisis! I could be waaaaaay off but 'disappointed in people' is my middle name.

maybe elisa has no public profile because she enjoys her privacy and own company and solitude and finds it easier to interact with others and express herself with her letters to the editor, from afar, somebody a few pages back posted a link to personality types, its very interesting
a lot of people choose to keep away from social media or have few friends

She doesn't appear to have any girlfriends. men friends, family, off the electronic grid, I mean.. ... what's up with this? .. She had quite a long career in ASIC, she would have former colleagues from her professional life.. other runners, don't tell me she ran alone all the time, her kids mix with other kids , and their mothers at school back in Melbourne, even , should she be the drinking fiend she is made out to be, she would have drinking companions.... of one sort or another, in both her residential locations...

Elisa does have a very dear girlfriend who has posted the Victoria Police video on her FB page and is asking people for help to find her. Sorry I cant mention any names as it's against WS TOS.

I understand all the stuff re high functioning alcoholics, Prime.. but it is a rare combo for a women to be an alcoholic and high functioning physically. Lots can manage to function sufficiently intellectually and alcoholically, but doing it physically isn't common. Alcohol does so much more damage to women than it does to men, that even today medical science doesn't understand the breadth and width of it, except that it does, and that damage starts early and progresses faster in women than it does in men.

And she is at that particular age... poor body image has it's heyday, I take that on board, plus all the horror of early menopause, which, if she is a heavy drinker , would be accelerated and expanded, in quantum leaps...

and we all know how cranky women at this stage can be, enough to make a bloke throw the towel in, or around our necks and pull it tight.

My friends and I have commented before on how few photos we have of ourselves from the childrearing years, because we're generally the ones behind the camera.

So true and in some cases I'm guessing no photos because of the effects of childbearing on the bod !

would you say , then that her attending the Footy party next door would be an aberration , a real breaking down of her personal needs and wants , or, ??.....

A good drink could put you DUI the next morning. I'm demanding a blood test the next time I go in for brain surgery!! Faaark!!

however.. there does appear to have been lots of pics of her, her running, her competing, ( none, apparently of her crossing the finish line, ) her in lycra , her in competition bibs, etc, etc... . all, or any of these would have been excellent posters for a missing woman who, the husband says 'may have gone for a long distance run that morning'......

My sentiments too, given my alcoholic ultra marathon runner female friend also has an eating disorder and is paranoid of cameras. She has told me that many of the women she has met through running, have also confessed to having an eating disorder. I remember a lecturer at uni stating that that the amount of runners with eating disorders is believed to be in the vicinity of 50%!!! I don't know where he got that stat from, and this is why i will never forget it (& uni was 20 years ago). 50% is hard to believe...but could be true sadly, with self reported stats and all? I hope not...

I said to my husband tonight 'if I ever go missing don't let anyone trawl thru my FB or write bad things about me

If I ever go missing you can guarantee
I DID NOT GO FOR A LATE NIGHT WALK!

Hmmm. I know a lot of doctors. I know a brilliant one (not hubby) who loves his cocaine. then there's the anaesthetists, who have access to all the good stuff... :O

no, but maybe she was just trying to be pleasant and sociable, doing the right thing etc making an effort, and/or maybe she had already made a decision and thought what the heck!
i dont know, she may be a sociable outgoing person, its just my feeling on her really, i see a lot of sadness in her photo

My poor friend, I keep using her as an example. You are exactly right. She has poor bone density, a fractured hip, skewed electrolytes - but this also comes from her eating disorder, as well as alcohol. She's been told by several specialists, but it hasn't stopped her...

Elisa would look totally different to that pick. Firstly remove the lippy, pull your hair back, whack on a cap, throw on some big sunnies and instantly you're any run-of-the-mill jogger in Lycra.
